We recently completed a pool project with Thunderbird Pools (April 2026), and had a very positive…read moreexperience and are extremely happy with the final result. We interviewed 10 different pool companies before making our decision, and Thunderbird Pools ultimately delivered exactly what we were looking for on time, and on budget! The design process was outstanding from the very beginning. Jeff Hyler (our designer) was incredibly knowledgeable, creative, and professional. During the very first onsite visit, he measured the space and produced an initial design complete with pricing and visual renderings. That immediate concept helped us clearly understand what was possible within our budget and set Thunderbird apart from every other company we interviewed. None of the other vendors offered anything close to the same level of interactive design capability or onsite visualization tools, and it made an excellent first impression. After comparing proposals from multiple pool builders, including pricing, pool size, and features, we ultimately chose Thunderbird Pools because of the quality of the design process, our confidence in the team, the professionalism of the company and staff, and the overall value offered. The showroom in Surprise offered various color options and the designer Jeff was extremely helpful in making selections! Before construction and permitting began, communication was excellent. Once the project started, Joe Hernandez was onsite regularly and did an exceptional job overseeing the subcontractors and maintaining quality control. His experience was obvious, and he consistently paid attention to details, communicated expectations clearly, and kept the project moving efficiently. We always felt confident that the schedule, workmanship, and overall project quality were being managed closely. We were also impressed with the subcontractors Thunderbird used throughout the project. They were skilled, professional, punctual, and worked efficiently according to the company's online schedule and project portal. They never left construction debris when they were done and tried to keep the area very clean. Thunderbird's internal project managers also communicated consistently through phone calls and emails, keeping us informed during each phase of construction. Overall, the company demonstrated excellent organization, communication, and project management from start to finish. Most importantly, the project stayed within our target budget, and the overall construction process went smoothly in the timeline anticipated. After completion, Brandon Thompson handled the equipment startup, testing, and training process. Brandon was outstanding , highly knowledgeable about all the pool systems, thorough in testing functionality, and extremely helpful with maintenance and scheduling recommendations. He not only completed the initial startup and training but also returned multiple times afterward to ensure everything was operating perfectly and to answer any additional questions we had. In the end, the project was completed on time, on budget, and exceeded our expectations. With just a little more upfront clarity regarding owner's site pre-grading responsibilities and protection of existing property during construction, the experience would have been beyond expectations. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering building a pool.

We had a pool installed by Thunderbird that was completed in December of 2023. Overall, the…read moreexperience has been annoying and stressful. A lot of re-work for work that was not done correct the first time, messes being left in the yard, and poor communication. Now the cool decking is starting to lift. I notified Thunderbird about this weeks ago and included several pictures. I took the day off work to be here for the concrete company to do the work, two guys showed up, took pictures and left. Something that should have been enjoyable has turned out to be regrettable. Do your research before signing a contract with this company.

We are very happy with our new hot tub that we purchased from Jeremy and Henry at Southwest Spas…read more They were nice enough to hold on to our tub at their facility until we were able to get HOA approval, 220v electrical hook-up and breaker, and a small travertine patio extension built for the hot tub. When we first came into the store, Henry was so thorough in his explanation of the different features of the spa we were interested in purchasing. The electrician (Nick) and the landscape person who installed our patio extension(Jose) who were recommended to us by Henry and Jeremy were also terrific. Once we had the spa delivered, I had some questions about some of the features of the tub, chemicals, as well as a small issue with one of the diverters that was leaking. I drove over to Southwest Spa to speak to someone in person, and Jeremy was kind enough to take the time to answer my questions, and also instructed me how to fix the diverter leak when I got home, and it worked perfectly after that. Easy-peasy! Having our own spa at our home has been on my husband and my bucket list for YEARS. We are so happy we were finally able to make it happen with the assistance of Southwest Spas!

We were very excited to purchase our two Pygmy palms. Implantation was June 3. After a few days…read morewe noticed the trunk of one of the palms was leaning very far over, and there was fibrous root material exposed above the ground. On June 6, both I and my husband (who was out of town at the time) spoke with the salesman at Moon Valley Nursery. I indicated my concern and provided him with pictures and told him one of the trunks was very wobbly and leaning at such an angle that it was almost parallel to the ground. He told me that it looked normal and they could come out and put additional mulch on it. He said the wobbliness was normal as the roots hadn't taken hold. I told him the other palm was not wobbly like that and they were planted at the same time. The other palm was doing just fine. I reiterated that it just didn't look right to me. He conferred with his supervisor and told me that his supervisor also said it was fine and looked normal. I felt reluctance on their part to come out to inspect it. There are also many palms in my neighborhood, none of which looked like this. Including my other palm. Midway into the next week my husband was in the yard and a landscaper stopped his truck and approached my husband, commenting that there was something wrong with the palm. He said he was familiar with them, having planted many, and it didn't look well. We phoned Moon Valley again and waited for a return call at which time we relayed this conversation and said someone needed to come out and take a look at the palm. This was on a Friday--nine days post-implantation. Our salesman said that a supervisor would reach out to--most likely Monday and schedule a visit. Monday came with no call. When we followed up, the story changed and we were told someone would contact us to "get us on a schedule." We were having other work done and opted to replace it the third week of June. We were given the name and number of the district manager and left a message for a callback. On June 18 (next day), he phoned us back and we shared our experience with him. He was very apologetic for the service we received and gave us the store manager's name, said he was going to note our account and take care of us. At that point, I asked for clarification on what "take care of us" meant. He said he would be having the manager refund us for the palm. On June 19, we finally got an email that we were on the schedule for someone to inspect the palm on June 25. We did not respond as we were waiting for a call from the manager and planned to address that inspection with her at that time. I followed up with the nursery on the June 22. The manager was off that day however, the man I spoke with said he would see about getting our refund processed that day. I asked for a call back to confirm it was in process. As you can probably guess, there was no call back. On the morning of the June 24, I phoned the nursery again. I asked if the manager was in. The woman who came to the phone was not the manager, and said they would provide an in-house credit. I told her that is not what the district manager told me would be happening; that I was specifically told I would get a refund for that palm. She told me that is not their store policy at which point I told her that she needed to follow up with the district manager that I spoke with, and that it was supposed to have been noted on my account that it was a refund, not a credit. I asked her to look confirm and call me back. At that point, we also left a message for the district manager to look into it on his end. No response from either the nursery or the district manager. Today, the 25th, we have texted the district manager to follow up, and phoned the nursery yet again. This time we have asked for the manager herself to phone us back. I have over 40 years in the financial and member services industry. I recognize great customer service when I receive it. There is definitely room for improvement from this company. The whole situation with the palm has caused no small amount of stress. I am hopeful that the refund will happen. I know that bad reviews travel further than good ones. If this is resolved to my satisfaction, I'm happy to edit this in the near future; for now I remain extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company.
