They gave us the best discount available to them, helped us load everything into the car, and even gave us some Moon Juice on the house. After a few days…read morewe noticed the trunk of one of the palms was leaning very far over, and there was fibrous root material exposed above the ground. On June 6, both I and my husband (who was out of town at the time) spoke with the salesman at Moon Valley Nursery. I indicated my concern and provided him with pictures and told him one of the trunks was very wobbly and leaning at such an angle that it was almost parallel to the ground. He told me that it looked normal and they could come out and put additional mulch on it. He said the wobbliness was normal as the roots hadn't taken hold. I told him the other palm was not wobbly like that and they were planted at the same time. The other palm was doing just fine. I reiterated that it just didn't look right to me. He conferred with his supervisor and told me that his supervisor also said it was fine and looked normal. I felt reluctance on their part to come out to inspect it. There are also many palms in my neighborhood, none of which looked like this. Including my other palm. Midway into the next week my husband was in the yard and a landscaper stopped his truck and approached my husband, commenting that there was something wrong with the palm. He said he was familiar with them, having planted many, and it didn't look well. We phoned Moon Valley again and waited for a return call at which time we relayed this conversation and said someone needed to come out and take a look at the palm. This was on a Friday--nine days post-implantation. Our salesman said that a supervisor would reach out to--most likely Monday and schedule a visit. Monday came with no call. When we followed up, the story changed and we were told someone would contact us to "get us on a schedule." We were having other work done and opted to replace it the third week of June. We were given the name and number of the district manager and left a message for a callback. On June 18 (next day), he phoned us back and we shared our experience with him. He was very apologetic for the service we received and gave us the store manager's name, said he was going to note our account and take care of us. At that point, I asked for clarification on what "take care of us" meant. He said he would be having the manager refund us for the palm. On June 19, we finally got an email that we were on the schedule for someone to inspect the palm on June 25. We did not respond as we were waiting for a call from the manager and planned to address that inspection with her at that time. I followed up with the nursery on the June 22. The manager was off that day however, the man I spoke with said he would see about getting our refund processed that day. I asked for a call back to confirm it was in process. As you can probably guess, there was no call back. On the morning of the June 24, I phoned the nursery again. I asked if the manager was in. The woman who came to the phone was not the manager, and said they would provide an in-house credit. I told her that is not what the district manager told me would be happening; that I was specifically told I would get a refund for that palm. She told me that is not their store policy at which point I told her that she needed to follow up with the district manager that I spoke with, and that it was supposed to have been noted on my account that it was a refund, not a credit. I asked her to look confirm and call me back. At that point, we also left a message for the district manager to look into it on his end. No response from either the nursery or the district manager. Today, the 25th, we have texted the district manager to follow up, and phoned the nursery yet again. This time we have asked for the manager herself to phone us back. I have over 40 years in the financial and member services industry. I recognize great customer service when I receive it. There is definitely room for improvement from this company. The whole situation with the palm has caused no small amount of stress. I am hopeful that the refund will happen. I know that bad reviews travel further than good ones. If this is resolved to my satisfaction, I'm happy to edit this in the near future; for now I remain extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company.

She showed true empathy, but she didn't accomplish what I wanted (or needed) to get done... have two (2) thresholds installed between two (2) carpeted rooms that abut a common tiled floor. I told her I went to the local HD store to try and buy the thresholds myself, but no one at the store helped me. The reason I wanted the thresholds installed was because the carpeting was loose and coming up in the doorways and HD's contractor (USIG) had to come back to fix their mistakes/sloppy work. The reason for the carpeting coming up? They cut the carpeting a tad too short for the doorway!! After spending over $3,000 for new carpeting, what would it have cost HD to install two thresholds? HD's contractor, USIG, wasn't responsive to my request, and sometimes, hard to deal with. In short, if I have to hire a handyman, I will; and my HD card will never see the light of day at an orange cash register ever again!!

Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. From the start, there were ongoing issues with reliability and communication. Luca was consistently hours late, frequently made verbal promises or gave quotes that later changed, and did not follow through. We even tried to coach him and provide constructive feedback, which he acknowledged--but nothing improved. The project was supposed to take 7 days but was rushed so he could move on to another job. On the final day, he pulled his crew early and said he would return the next day to finish cleaning, complete the front porch work, deliver additional rock (as the coverage was very light), and--most importantly--repair damage his crew caused to our concrete driveway while removing a walkway. He did show up the next day, but only to clean up. It took several more days for the rock and patio work to be completed. His workers were removed on Thursday 12/11, with a promise that all remaining issues would be fixed on 12/12. As of today, 1/20, Luca is completely unresponsive, and our driveway damage has still not been repaired. My last text to Luca was sent on 1/13, clearly asking for a response by 1/15 with a plan and timeline for repairing the driveway. That message was never acknowledged. I gave him ample time and opportunity to make this right, which is the only reason this review is being posted now. Additionally, after we had our house painted, the painter pointed out that the stucco work on the new retaining wall was extremely rough and appeared to be very poor craftsmanship. Overall, this project was stressful, unfinished as promised, and left us with property damage and subpar work. We regret choosing A1 Hardscape and would not recommend them based on our experience.

I received a text message that I would be scheduled for installation on Thursday. The installer showed up on Friday and did not have tac strips or the carpet pad and said he would return on Saturday. I messaged the installer Friday evening to verify that he was going to be at my home on Saturday and he said he would be here. I stayed at my house all day on Saturday and finally received a message at 3 pm that he would not be coming due to the installation company did not release the pad to him. I went into Lowe's in Surprise, AZ Sunday morning and spoke with store manager Amber. I showed her all my text messages and she appeared to be documenting this. Amber said she would escalate this to the regional or district manager for a resolution and would be calling me on Monday for an update. Monday came and went with no communication from Amber, so I tried calling her on Tuesday. When transferred to Amber on Tuesday, a man answered and said, "yes, Amber is sitting right here, one moment please." He then returned on the phone and said, "Amber is asking if you have heard anything about your installation?" I responded no and he told me she said they were supposed to be contacting me. I never heard from Amber again. I then tried calling the corporate office. After telling my issue another 3 times, I was given the opportunity to tell my story for a 4th time to a manager named Terri. Terri, was the first to apologize for this inconvenience and said she would be calling the install company and get things taken care of. At this time I was pleading to get my carpet installed so my family could get their house back in order and lives back to normal. Mind you, I had 2 entire bedrooms sitting in my living room and dining room for coming up on a week. The carpet was then installed on Wednesday. A week later. After the install, I called Terri as she asked me to do, and spoke about getting some of my money refunded. Terri was pleasant and asked if she could get back to me on Monday. Monday came around and I received a call from someone else. She said, Terri asked her to call me to let me know that I would be receiving a $75 credit for my house being torn up for a week and all troubles. After everything I went through and the hours I spent trying to get my carpet installed. I felt $75 was the last slap in the face from Lowe's. I believe I had to repeat my situation at least 20 times, (if not more) I had to take 5 days of vacation (Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues and Wed) off of work due to waiting on installation, place my company that came to visit at a friends house, (due to rooms not being completed) and missed spending Saturday with them since I was waiting for the installer to come. (Which I didn't receive the message they weren't going to be doing the install until 3pm) Again, to get a call from someone from Lowe's to relay Terri's message that they would be offering me $75 for my inconvenience was a slap in the face. With all that has been said: The only time I spoke to the installation company was when I called them. Only to be told they would get something going and never received a call back. Speaking to a Store manager (Amber) and never to received a call back, and finally getting to someone who was able to get my installation scheduled and not given the respect of calling me back herself, to tell me they we're refunding me a $75 slap in the face. I made a carpet, pad and installation purchase from Lowe's, not the installer. Zero communication by all parties. I feel this whole debacle is on Lowe's. Is this how Lowe's treat's/values their customers? Still not satisfied with the end results. If you're looking for new flooring, you might want to going to a flooring store or a big box company. I with you the best of luck if you buy flooring from Lowe's. I will say, the ladies in the flooring department that helped me and sold everything was helpful and nice to work with. My initial appointment for measurements was scheduled for May 25, 2026, between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Unfortunately, no one arrived during that window. I contacted Lowe's that day to inquire about the delay, as I had prior commitments starting at 12:30 PM. I was told someone would follow up with me, but I received no communication. The following day, having still not heard anything, I called again and was assured that the issue would be investigated. Again, I did not receive a return call. Instead, I later received a message stating that the person responsible for measurements had not been scheduled to work on May 25. I rescheduled the appointment for June 1, 2026, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, as I work until 3:15 PM. Although the appointment was confirmed, I then received another message referencing a different appointment date of June 2. Because there is no direct way to speak with someone, I had to communicate via text to clarify the correct date. I was told the appointment remained June 1; however, I continued to receive conflicting information. I also spoke with a supervisor, Nelson (extension 4122), who stated he would investigate the issue and call me back. Unfortunately, I never received a follow-up call. On June 1, unsure of the status of my appointment, I left work early. When my husband arrived home, he found that a representative from Lowe's had already come and completed the measurement. The visit lasted approximately 10 minutes, and I was told someone would contact me regarding next steps and selecting products. However, on June 2, I received another notification stating that someone was on their way to perform measurements again. I responded to explain that the measurements had already been completed. On June 3, I received a call from a representative who initially stated there were no measurements in the system. After I explained the situation, she was eventually able to locate the information and informed me that someone would contact me with a quote. I have not heard anything since. Overall, this experience has been extremely frustrating due to the lack of communication, coordination, and follow-through. I have requested multiple times to speak with a supervisor but have not received any response. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Lowe's for flooring services unless these issues are addressed and improved.
