After getting several quotes, we chose A1 Hardscape for our front yard hardscaping project. The owner, Luca, was very personable and seemed motivated, which initially gave us confidence. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. From the start, there were ongoing issues with reliability and communication. Luca was consistently hours late, frequently made verbal promises or gave quotes that later changed, and did not follow through. We even tried to coach him and provide constructive feedback, which he acknowledged--but nothing improved. The project was supposed to take 7 days but was rushed so he could move on to another job. On the final day, he pulled his crew early and said he would return the next day to finish cleaning, complete the front porch work, deliver additional rock (as the coverage was very light), and--most importantly--repair damage his crew caused to our concrete driveway while removing a walkway. He did show up the next day, but only to clean up. It took several more days for the rock and patio work to be completed. His workers were removed on Thursday 12/11, with a promise that all remaining issues would be fixed on 12/12. As of today, 1/20, Luca is completely unresponsive, and our driveway damage has still not been repaired. My last text to Luca was sent on 1/13, clearly asking for a response by 1/15 with a plan and timeline for repairing the driveway. That message was never acknowledged. I gave him ample time and opportunity to make this right, which is the only reason this review is being posted now. Additionally, after we had our house painted, the painter pointed out that the stucco work on the new retaining wall was extremely rough and appeared to be very poor craftsmanship. Overall, this project was stressful, unfinished as promised, and left us with property damage and subpar work. We regret choosing A1 Hardscape and would not recommend them based on our experience. read more

I hired Luca to put in a black wall around my house January 21st 2025. He hired unskilled worker from Home Depot. They did shawty work on my brick wall. One part of the block was put on backwards. Wall wasn't straight. It was weaving. Do not deal with this shoddy company. He goes around scamming people. read more

We hired Luka's company in April 2025 for turf, pavers, and plants. He required full payment in cash upfront. Since then, the majority of the materials have not been delivered. What was provided was low quality and not what was promised. Our yard was left incomplete and in disarray. Luka presented contractor credentials, but we have not been able to verify his licensing status through official channels. We asked for a refund, but since then he has stopped responding to us entirely. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this business due to lack of professionalism, poor-quality materials, failure to deliver on the agreement, and lack of communication. read more

After interviewing several contractors for landscape, irrigation and concrete work we chose A-1 Hardscape. The owner, Luka was friendly, seemed competent and serious about his work. We chose to contract with A-1 based on our interview and reasonable pricing offered. Huge mistake. The project was supposed to take 6 days. After many weeks of waiting, failure to respond to our phone calls and text messages the work is still not complete. The irrigation system leaks, the concrete patio they installed was done poorly and landscape work was left unfinished. They left a mess which remains unaddressed and they appear to have abandoned the project. Based on our experience with A-1 Hardscape and its owner Luka we cannot recommend this business for landscape nor any construction work. If one considers good communication and general reliability as important considerations in hiring a contractor stay far away from A-1Hardscape. read more

Luka has been very shady and sadly it was my mistake for trusting him . he rented a skid steer from me and now he won't pay when it comes down to it. Do not use this company (Renovation Pros LLC). Owner- Luka Stanley ! Brick edging w concrete(3 high) along property in Scottsdale. Completely unreliable. Their work is terrible. Must be torn down and redone. They did nothing they said they would do. Excuses and arguing continually. Left the job undone. Would not return calls. Complete mess throughout my yard. PIles of concrete randomly dumped through out. Tried to hide many huge concrete chunks under my rock. Did not show up when they said they would. Wanted more money because they miscalculated supplies and labor and still the job is atrocious. The address on Hayden road is bogus. read more

We were very excited to purchase our two Pygmy palms. Implantation was June 3. After a few days…read morewe noticed the trunk of one of the palms was leaning very far over, and there was fibrous root material exposed above the ground. On June 6, both I and my husband (who was out of town at the time) spoke with the salesman at Moon Valley Nursery. I indicated my concern and provided him with pictures and told him one of the trunks was very wobbly and leaning at such an angle that it was almost parallel to the ground. He told me that it looked normal and they could come out and put additional mulch on it. He said the wobbliness was normal as the roots hadn't taken hold. I told him the other palm was not wobbly like that and they were planted at the same time. The other palm was doing just fine. I reiterated that it just didn't look right to me. He conferred with his supervisor and told me that his supervisor also said it was fine and looked normal. I felt reluctance on their part to come out to inspect it. There are also many palms in my neighborhood, none of which looked like this. Including my other palm. Midway into the next week my husband was in the yard and a landscaper stopped his truck and approached my husband, commenting that there was something wrong with the palm. He said he was familiar with them, having planted many, and it didn't look well. We phoned Moon Valley again and waited for a return call at which time we relayed this conversation and said someone needed to come out and take a look at the palm. This was on a Friday--nine days post-implantation. Our salesman said that a supervisor would reach out to--most likely Monday and schedule a visit. Monday came with no call. When we followed up, the story changed and we were told someone would contact us to "get us on a schedule." We were having other work done and opted to replace it the third week of June. We were given the name and number of the district manager and left a message for a callback. On June 18 (next day), he phoned us back and we shared our experience with him. He was very apologetic for the service we received and gave us the store manager's name, said he was going to note our account and take care of us. At that point, I asked for clarification on what "take care of us" meant. He said he would be having the manager refund us for the palm. On June 19, we finally got an email that we were on the schedule for someone to inspect the palm on June 25. We did not respond as we were waiting for a call from the manager and planned to address that inspection with her at that time. I followed up with the nursery on the June 22. The manager was off that day however, the man I spoke with said he would see about getting our refund processed that day. I asked for a call back to confirm it was in process. As you can probably guess, there was no call back. On the morning of the June 24, I phoned the nursery again. I asked if the manager was in. The woman who came to the phone was not the manager, and said they would provide an in-house credit. I told her that is not what the district manager told me would be happening; that I was specifically told I would get a refund for that palm. She told me that is not their store policy at which point I told her that she needed to follow up with the district manager that I spoke with, and that it was supposed to have been noted on my account that it was a refund, not a credit. I asked her to look confirm and call me back. At that point, we also left a message for the district manager to look into it on his end. No response from either the nursery or the district manager. Today, the 25th, we have texted the district manager to follow up, and phoned the nursery yet again. This time we have asked for the manager herself to phone us back. I have over 40 years in the financial and member services industry. I recognize great customer service when I receive it. There is definitely room for improvement from this company. The whole situation with the palm has caused no small amount of stress. I am hopeful that the refund will happen. I know that bad reviews travel further than good ones. If this is resolved to my satisfaction, I'm happy to edit this in the near future; for now I remain extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company.

On 3/3, I reached out to him and he said he forgot to schedule me and had to reschedule me for 3/5. He quoted me $175 for: Weed removal Spray weed killer Blow out the debris Haul away everything I thought it was a lot but agreed to the price and told him that I didn't want chemicals sprayed. After he said he was done, I inspected and found weed roots still in the ground and debris everywhere. I asked him about it and he said the chemicals (that he wasn't supposed to spray) would kill everything and remove the debris. I was skeptical that the chemicals would magically clear away all the debris. He said to call him in 2 days if it didn't. I still had my doubts and asked for a $50 holdback in case the debris didn't go away. He countered with $25 and I knew then that if I called him, he simply wouldn't return my call. I stuck to the $50 and he agreed. 2 days later, the debris had not magically disappeared and I texted him with pictures to come back and finish the job, but he didn't respond as expected. Now, I have to clear the remaining weed roots and debris myself.

We cannot say enough good things about this crew. After speaking with several contractors, we decided to go with A1 Hardscape. Our project was 900 square Foot paver patio with a pergola. We also had turf installed in our front yard. The team was on time. The communication was great thank you Luka for helping us get the numbers down a bit and make the project happen. Thank you to Jose and Eduardo for making sure the crew followed schedule. The team did bust one of our sprinkler lines. They actually ended up replacing for free instead of repairing. Luka and his team installed a new paver drive for us. 9.5' wide by 43' long and had to match our current pavers. The work they did was seamless (to existing walkway) and they did an EXCELLENT job. They provided all materials guys were always early to arrive and late to leave-- job clean up and entire process was a pleasure. Luka always kept in contact. We had several quotes and A1 Hardscape was our most expensive quote however, in the end we feel that we did receive our value. Luka the owner was very communicative. We did run into a few problems, but the team was so courteous to actually fix everything for free. We had 1225 square ft bel guard pavers installed . Integrity Hardscape LLC did a fantastic job on our yard renovation. We had 900 Square Feet Phoenix pavers installed . 1,100 Square Feet master turf. Finally 13 tons 1 inch screen rock.
