A very nice Walmart with a McDonald's and Nail Salon. This is a large Walmart with full grocery store. There are a lot of self checkout machines, so there was no wait to check out, and this is a Saturday. read more

We asked an employee what was included and were told everything was 60% off, so we excitedly loaded up our carts. At checkout, we learned that the discount actually applied only to trees, which was understandably disappointing and meant rethinking most of our purchases. Summer and Mike went above and beyond to make sure we still felt valued and left happy. They gave us the best discount available to them, helped us load everything into the car, and even gave us some Moon Juice on the house. Although the experience started with a frustrating misunderstanding, they handled it with genuine kindness and excellent customer service. We felt very well taken care of and will definitely return!
We were very excited to purchase our two Pygmy palms. Implantation was June 3. After a few days…read morewe noticed the trunk of one of the palms was leaning very far over, and there was fibrous root material exposed above the ground. On June 6, both I and my husband (who was out of town at the time) spoke with the salesman at Moon Valley Nursery. I indicated my concern and provided him with pictures and told him one of the trunks was very wobbly and leaning at such an angle that it was almost parallel to the ground. He told me that it looked normal and they could come out and put additional mulch on it. He said the wobbliness was normal as the roots hadn't taken hold. I told him the other palm was not wobbly like that and they were planted at the same time. The other palm was doing just fine. I reiterated that it just didn't look right to me. He conferred with his supervisor and told me that his supervisor also said it was fine and looked normal. I felt reluctance on their part to come out to inspect it. There are also many palms in my neighborhood, none of which looked like this. Including my other palm. Midway into the next week my husband was in the yard and a landscaper stopped his truck and approached my husband, commenting that there was something wrong with the palm. He said he was familiar with them, having planted many, and it didn't look well. We phoned Moon Valley again and waited for a return call at which time we relayed this conversation and said someone needed to come out and take a look at the palm. This was on a Friday--nine days post-implantation. Our salesman said that a supervisor would reach out to--most likely Monday and schedule a visit. Monday came with no call. When we followed up, the story changed and we were told someone would contact us to "get us on a schedule." We were having other work done and opted to replace it the third week of June. We were given the name and number of the district manager and left a message for a callback. On June 18 (next day), he phoned us back and we shared our experience with him. He was very apologetic for the service we received and gave us the store manager's name, said he was going to note our account and take care of us. At that point, I asked for clarification on what "take care of us" meant. He said he would be having the manager refund us for the palm. On June 19, we finally got an email that we were on the schedule for someone to inspect the palm on June 25. We did not respond as we were waiting for a call from the manager and planned to address that inspection with her at that time. I followed up with the nursery on the June 22. The manager was off that day however, the man I spoke with said he would see about getting our refund processed that day. I asked for a call back to confirm it was in process. As you can probably guess, there was no call back. On the morning of the June 24, I phoned the nursery again. I asked if the manager was in. The woman who came to the phone was not the manager, and said they would provide an in-house credit. I told her that is not what the district manager told me would be happening; that I was specifically told I would get a refund for that palm. She told me that is not their store policy at which point I told her that she needed to follow up with the district manager that I spoke with, and that it was supposed to have been noted on my account that it was a refund, not a credit. I asked her to look confirm and call me back. At that point, we also left a message for the district manager to look into it on his end. No response from either the nursery or the district manager. Today, the 25th, we have texted the district manager to follow up, and phoned the nursery yet again. This time we have asked for the manager herself to phone us back. I have over 40 years in the financial and member services industry. I recognize great customer service when I receive it. There is definitely room for improvement from this company. The whole situation with the palm has caused no small amount of stress. I am hopeful that the refund will happen. I know that bad reviews travel further than good ones. If this is resolved to my satisfaction, I'm happy to edit this in the near future; for now I remain extremely disappointed and would not recommend this company.

John welcomed me with a handshake (a real one, not that weak stuff some guys give) and listened to my needs. For the red bird of paradise (15 gal) there was only one up front and it wasn't a 10/10. He offered to take me in the back to look at others but I was in a time crunch. He went back, grabbed a beautiful specimen, and was back up front with it next to my truck before I paid. Awesome service from all (esp John) and I think their prices are better than the big box stores. I'll be back, thanks guys!

So was the gal whe sweet gal who took me to the plants but didn't speak much English. We managed just fine working together. This is a place you go to do business at, but you won't get that warm fuzzy personable experience which is totally fine with me. Their Ocotillos weren't what I was looking for so I was on my way. Still worth checking out if ever looking for desert or tropical plants. Many are under shade but still get sun. Just think of where you'll be planting it verses how they are growing it and you should be fine. They are very busy.

He said it's all one piece that doesn't come apart. I pointed to the bolt in the back where the lid comes off. So it does come apart, Jack. Well the lid can't be ordered how can you possibly know that that lid cannot be ordered separately when you didn't think that you even carried that brand. Clearly he was lying just to get me to go away to not bother him on a Sunday morning.

I had a small used plumbing part in my hand and knew I just need to go in, match the size and color to what they have on display on wall hooks, checkout and leave. As got out of my vehicle near the front door . . . again, at 5:54 pm . . . an employee who was wheeling products sitting outside on the sidewalk into the store said they are closing. I showed him the used part I had in my hand and said I just need to run in and grab it off a wall hook display, purchase it and leave. He emphasized their need to close. Another customer drove up after me and parked next to me, then entered Sunwest True Value behind me. I ignored the snarky employee, went to the plumbing section, could not find what I needed in the size and color I needed and began leaving at 5:56 pm. Instead, when I turned around the snarky employee who was closing the store at 5:54 pm was behind me. He had followed me. I explained they did not have what I needed, therefore I said I need to get out of here because they close at 6:00 pm. The snarky employee instead insisted on looking at what I had and began searching on the wall hooks for the part I needed. I reminded him the store is closing at 6:00 pm, they do not have the part that I need, so I need to leave. He said, 'Well, I'm here to help you'. I explained they do not have it, reminded him they close at 6:00 pm, but he still insisted. So I stood there while he searched the same display I had just searched. He turned around and said to me they do not have what I need. He followed me back to the front door telling me where I can alternatively go find the part that I needed somewhere else or something like that. As I walked by the cashier, the customer that arrived after me had also already found what they came for, was paying for it and then exited out behind me. I was pleased I was able to at least distract the snarky employee so the other customer could get in to get what he needed without being lectured the entire time like I was. I'll be curious to see if this True Value franchisee is able to survive based on 1) the way they communicate with their customers, plus 2) selling enough volume by closing earlier than their posted closing times. They should at least post their true closing time of 5:54 pm, instead of misleading people by posting 6:00 pm as their closing time.

She showed true empathy, but she didn't accomplish what I wanted (or needed) to get done... have two (2) thresholds installed between two (2) carpeted rooms that abut a common tiled floor. I told her I went to the local HD store to try and buy the thresholds myself, but no one at the store helped me. The reason I wanted the thresholds installed was because the carpeting was loose and coming up in the doorways and HD's contractor (USIG) had to come back to fix their mistakes/sloppy work. The reason for the carpeting coming up? They cut the carpeting a tad too short for the doorway!! After spending over $3,000 for new carpeting, what would it have cost HD to install two thresholds? HD's contractor, USIG, wasn't responsive to my request, and sometimes, hard to deal with. In short, if I have to hire a handyman, I will; and my HD card will never see the light of day at an orange cash register ever again!!
