Stopped by for a few shrubs that didn't survive in my yard. Armed with some pictures of the plants, the team in the office hooked me up with John in the back lot. John welcomed me with a handshake (a real one, not that weak stuff some guys give) and listened to my needs. I showed him the pics of what I needed and he rattled off the names and showed me what they had. For the coral fountain and purple lantana there was a lot to choose from. For the red bird of paradise (15 gal) there was only one up front and it wasn't a 10/10. He offered to take me in the back to look at others but I was in a time crunch. He went back, grabbed a beautiful specimen, and was back up front with it next to my truck before I paid. Bought some plants there today. their prices are good. Lots of plants. Never knew this place even existed. It's kind of hidden.

Construction is going on right now so you'll enter right before the 303 into their tool rental facility then take the dirt road west to the nursery. Now most of their business comes from landscapers. They come in and order what they want. They do cell tonthe general public as well. When I came in and told her what I wanted she tried ringing it up right away. I let her know I wanted to pick it out. The gal up front greated me and was nice. So was the gal whe sweet gal who took me to the plants but didn't speak much English. We managed just fine working together. This is a place you go to do business at, but you won't get that warm fuzzy personable experience which is totally fine with me. Their Ocotillos weren't what I was looking for so I was on my way. Still worth checking out if ever looking for desert or tropical plants. Many are under shade but still get sun. Just think of where you'll be planting it verses how they are growing it and you should be fine. They are very busy. read more

This place has one of the best selection of plants in all of the Valley they have better prices than most nurseries especially the one that has prices that are over the "moon". Best part is everything is grown here too so you know it's climatized for Arizona. Can't recommend Desert Forrest enough. read more

I can only give this place a one but it's a zero I live on the other side of their wall I purchased a Brazilian Pepper Tree 24 ' / 25 Gallon . It's in a sprinkler system and it died with in 3 weeks. I returned to the place and they said sorry no warranty at all. Once again I purchased the tree from them because of the property being on the other side As I was walking out, the Spanish woman behind the desk with short hair , not to confuse with the younger long hair woman, in Espanol said este gringo, not knowing I am Latino just like her. I was going to go back to the desk and give her a few nice Mexican words, but did not want to waste my time with a stupid worthless person Poor poor customer service, I had plans of buying many many trees from this place !! Great place and great guys! Helped me with what I needed and showed me other plant options

My experience with the female staff at this nursery has awful on a good day. This last visit has reached an all time low. First of all take a Spanish English dictionary Second of all make sure your more knowledgeable than the staff. Long story short I ordered hybiscus and they gave me oleanders. Definite not retail although they advertise they sell retail. The lady was knowledgable enough on a few basic plants. We were looking at trees and were advised we couldn't look at that area for insurance purposes. We have s large tree budget I think we've spent 15 grand already this year and wanted to check other nurseries besides moon valley. At the end of the day we were shuffled to the small retail area and again the lady was nice enough but my dollar will be spent elsewhere. Moon Valley so far has provided the best customer service and frankly not that bad of pricing even compared to this so called wholesale / retail business. Go elsewhere. read more

First off, understand that this is a wholesale nursery where landscapers go to buy their plants! They are not set up as a retail nursery like Moon Valley, nor do they have the retail "sales pitch". If you want to pay two to three times over wholesale for your plants, then go to Moon Valley who are ridiculously over priced. I landscaped my whole backyard, working via my landscaper, and saved thousands of dollars. Two years later, not one plant has died, all look great and are healthy. Update: In April 2017, went to Moon Valley to find a Mastic tree. They didn't have any in stock at that location, but told me a 36" box was about $1,500, 24" box about $800. Next, went back to Desert Forrest and they had over a dozen Mastic trees in stock, 36" box for $400. Bought the tree, looks great, end of story! read more

Great prices and quality trees. They aren't a moon valley that plants and delivers but it's a wholesale nursery. They have better pricing and that's exactly why. They are a company for landscapers you hire or do it yourself people. read more

The owner of the company provided the worst customer service I've ever encountered. First he thought he had the ability to joke about the fact that I had my kids with me when inquiring about plants for my yard. He quote on quote said "you couldn't bring anymore people with you"? With a sarcastic smile on his face. Then when I realized one of the plants that were picked out by one of his employees had a broken leaf, he thought it was hysterical to laugh about it and say it wasn't a big deal. Then he decided to make it comical by asking some pool guys buddies of his in the office with me during the purchase while shaking his head, if it was still ok with a broken leaf. Then I persisted to say I am the customer and I think it's sufficient for me to be satisfied with my purchase. The owners buddies thought it was in their best interest to tell me the plant is fine even with a broken leaf. Dealing with such poor customer service here, and the lack of respect, I can confidently say I will not recommend or return to this place in the future. read more

Sent here by our gardener, we waited quite a while to get someone to show us plants. The owner and two other employees in the office would not make eye contact and did not speak to us.... But they talked constantly in Spanish among themselves. The plants did not look that healthy. It says it is a wholesale and retail nursery, but I don't think they normally deal with the public.
