I am really happy with the expertise of this nursery and all the workers I've met over the years are simply nice and ask about what you would be looking for. Jake is really informative with his varietal information and they even have a bonsai now. They always have a few new plants that are interesting or unique types you just can't find anywhere else I've seen. They have contrator accounts but they Do care about gardening enthusiasts that come in. Other nurseries I went to only care about contractor accounts but this nutsery is just a nice environment for gardeners of all ages. I really appreciate it and just wanted to extend my review and my thanks. read more

Yes, yes yes!!!!! They have beautiful, healthy product AND the friendliest girl who helped me named Heather! I stopped in for a quick gift for my niece (and self) and was very disciplined Not to buy the entire store! I did pick up some basil and rosemary!!! The prices were better than those big "Box" stores! Sooo happy!! They also have a cute little bathroom available! I'll definitely return! read more

First time at Elgin and I was impressed. It can be a long drive to Elgin if you live in the east valley as I do but it may be worth the drive if you are looking for specific items. They have lots of choice for the serious gardener that you cannot always find at big box stores. One thing I like is that the nursery is smaller but it is chock full of goodies. Be sure to talk to the staff and tap into their knowledge, their recommendations and advice can be gold. read more

I love this place every time I come here , they greet me and even this time they even give me cold water for me and my girls , such a beautiful place to go walk around look around the beautiful flowers , trees , I come here as often and I love it so peaceful and prices are so much better than most places you should go for yourselves if you need help with anything they even help you with any questions you might have read more

Hands down the best nursery in the Phoenix-Metro area. I've been to all the other ones nearby and they don't compare. Elgin has lower prices, healthier plants and friendlier, more helpful staff. I brought another couple with me and we all came home with new fruit trees. And, all agreed that we'd 10000000% come to this place during our nursery outings again over all the others we regularly visit. You literally save thousands of dollars here and your plants are healthier. Don't waste your time anywhere else. Just come to Elgin. Not an ad, I swear. Just a super enthusiastic fan! read more

Elgin nursery is my #1 nursery choice. Quality desert landscaping plants, excellent trees, deep, wide advice and service. When it grows on round 1 of planting means great value. Lots of carts and wagons. Yesterday I pruned an Ironwood Tree that was two feet tall on planting day in 2022. It is thriving, pushing eight feet. We also planted a tough pink fairyduster and Desert Milkweed plants in the second most difficult spot in the planting beds of our condo grounds. I have immense hope. read more

Elgin Nursery & Tree Farm - The view from the nursery - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

This is my favorite nursery so far (besides summerwind). The employees are friendly and they have great selection of plants that do well in az weather! The pricing is fair (way better than moon valley), and I could find certain plants/flowers that I could not find at jackrabbit in buckeye! read more

We often go to nurseries looking for plants, and this one is on constant rotation, so I know we are in good hands. This last time we came here, we were looking for milkweed, which helps to keep pests away as we are growing some spring/summer vegetables. Place is always well stocked and staff helpful. I like going to nurseries where staff are knowledgeable and helpful, trees and plants well taken care of with good variety and reasonable prices. They also have lots of educational materials, so I'm always getting handouts so I can increase my knowledge of planting/gardening and what does well out here. Elgin does all that, so that's why we come back often to check what they have! read more

We love this place. We have purchased from them several times. You should try them you will not be disappointed.

Helpful staff large selection of everything.....and they finally let customers use the bathroom.

What a great experience. You never know what you'll get when you walk into a Nursery. Some places have very knowledgeable people, and others just have crappy plants. Elgin was a breath of fresh air for several reasons: 1. Selection. They had a lot of what I was looking for, in various sizes. I was searching for some hard-to-find citrus that nobody else had, and they had lots of them. 2. Great, healthy plants. Everything they had looked green, vibrant, healthy, and was well taken care of and not strewn about. The place was clean and well managed. 3. Super knowledgeable. They shared a ton of knowledge and tips with me, even though I had not bought anything from them. They had excellent advice and referred me to an amazing landscape and tree guy. They spent a lot of time with me, and never pushed for a sale. Now I'll buy all my plants from them. 4. Selection and supply. TONS of soils, mulches, fertilizers, tools, planters. And one of the best selection of trees and plants. Overall a great place and great experience. My favorite nursery in the valley. read more

Fantastic selection of outdoor plants ranging from desert plants to citrus to tropical! I drive 30 miles to come here because the selection is great, the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, and they don't gauge you with pricing on items like many other nurseries in the valley. A cute gem in the west valley! read more

Great girly plants and shrubs. Bought two new schrubs today. Can't wait to see them grow.

Great place for outdoor plants the price is cheaper than Lowe's or Home Depot, I just wish they had indoor plants!

Service was great! They were kind, gave me ideas, very knowledgeable about the plants. They even gave me a heads up on when to plant and when not to plant with the upcoming freeze. As someone who does not know a lot about plant care they were more than willing to overly explain how to best care for my new plants. It was very refreshing and I am grateful for their knowledge. Pricing was very reasonable and on par with other local nurseries. In my opinion the prices were far better than some of the more franchised nurseries. read more

Elgin Nursery & Tree Farm - Plants purchased! - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

What a beautiful nursery. It appeared that almost all of the shrubs and trees had large easy to read names. The paths between the plants had street signs! The signage was great! We were lookin for a particular tree not available at nearby plant nurseries. I called Elgin and talked with an employee and was told the sizes and prices. A fast drive interstate 10, and we found the nursery easily. An employee showed us the section of trees we were interested in, and gave us his advice on the nicest tree in the lot. More info on growth, tree spread, watering, and soil amendments. To top it off we received a "senior discount" without asking! We will be back! read more

This nursery is a Different type of nursery, feels like friends helping friends! Prices are much lower than the "other" large nursery in the valley. I always make the extra drive, Better Plants, Better Trees, Better Service, Better Warranty! Seriously love this place! Keep it up ELGIN NURSERY ! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday morning and enjoyed walking around here. They have a great selection, and they also carries some beautiful Pottery from AZ Plant Stand! I commend staff here! They were knowledgeable and very helpful. We ended up buying a nectarine tree, couple of small cactuses and a small saguaro. We'll be sure to keep this one on our list of favorites!! read more

Heather is very knowledgeable and helpful. Was very disappointed when we planted 3 - 15 gallon Cape Honeysuckle and 1 died within 2 weeks. My landscaper commented to me that 1 of the plants did not look healthy when he planted them. When contacting the nursery, they would not help at all with a partial credit or replacement since my landscaper purchased them and I did not! These shrubs are over $100.00 a piece, and nothing dies in 2 weeks unless it was on it's way out when we purchased them. VERY disappointed of their policy. What would it cost them to just give me a replacement, or partial credit vs losing a customer? read more

No good bad service ,trying to get my credit they always said the register need the manager to validate my credit on. Return Home Depot better selection read more

I support local businesses! This is a great nursery! It is clean, organized, and very friendly! I recommend this nursery! :)

Beautiful plants and trees. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They have creative ideas

Their staff is so helpful and friendly! I got so much insight to the plants I got and how to care for them. I was even given a sheet with the best months to plant. They have a big selection of plants and trees that rotate with the different seasons so make sure to visit often! Their prices are also better then many other nurseries or stores that carry plants. So if you're in the area, definitely stop by and check them out! read more

Great place with a knowledgeable and helpful staff. Went there to look for some options regarding trees that would stay green all year round, grow fast and make a nice focal point for my yard. Left there knowing a good bit more than I did upon arrival. Narrowed it down to a couple of trees, unfortunately, the one I really wanted, they were out of. They checked and no on else had it in the valley. Should be available in the Fall, so I will wait. This is the go to place for plants, trees and all stuff for your yard. read more

First time Experience was not as expected from what the reviews were that I read. As soon as I got there I was not addressed nor did anyone ask if I needed any help or had any questions for that matter. I was there for almost an hour and ended up buying a tree which I had to carry to the cashier and then also carry to my car. (I'm a small framed woman) no assistance was offered to me whatsoever definitely would not go back there. read more

The best nursery in the valley hands down. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, answered all my questions and more. Also a good selection of soils and amendments, like fox farm and down to earth organic. Can't beat the 1 year warranty on MOST plants and trees, plus the employees don't work on commission like another big named nursery here in the valley. A great place for a stroll or getting your yard and garden looking good. Stop in and talk to Jon, he's the man. read more

I have been shopping for landscape materials-plants -trees---for 40 years here in the valley----I have purchased quite a bit of materials at Moon Valley---and after seeing the price discrepancies--with Justin at Elgin Nursery I was floored---With his help and very courteous and knowledgeable attitude and most important -NOT- on commission---not that I mind people making a buck but not to the point of abuse---I received the same product that I was trying to purchase at the previous mentioned nursery for a SIGNIFANT lower price---honest and straight for the entire buying process---This to me is the most important concept in todays business operations---HONEST ---I will continue to purchase landscape products from this nursery for the rest of my time here in Phoenix-Az.... read more

Beautiful selection at very fair pricing. I was so discouraged after we visited another local nursery and found similar trees at 3 times the pricing with three times the delivery costs and a quarter of the warranty period. The Elgin staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you for the beautiful olive trees we can't wait for the delivery! We will be back to buy plants for the rest of the project! read more

The plants here are so well taken care of and at a great cost. The staff is so extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

I come here fairly regularly. It's so much better than going to Home Depot or Lowe's because the plants have been adapted to Phoenix growing conditions vs getting stuff from Home Depot that are sent out to all the different states without thought to what rootstocks etc do better here vs other states etc. some of the staff is knowledgeable but not all. I've got a ton of knowledge (used to be a certified master gardener) so I've had to correct some of their staff a few times but then others are very knowledgeable. But all of them care more and are more helpful than local home improvement stores read more

Went to Elign this past weekend to review their selection for our backyard landscaping. I was immediately impressed with the great selection of trees, plants and shrubs. The layout made everything easy to find, and unlike many other nurseries the labeling was awesome. We purchased 2 ash trees, and 20 shrubs and bushes ranging from fire stick succulents to bird of paradise bushes. We got hibiscus bushes in every color (even blue). I have to say this is the most reasonably priced nursery I have been to in Phoenix. I'll post some pictures once we get all these beauties planted! read more
