Antonio was especially wonderful on my most recent visit. He helped me find the perfect plant for my homemade pot and even potted it for me, which was such a thoughtful touch. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely kind--exactly the kind of service that keeps you coming back. This place is a gem if you love plants and want guidance from people who truly know what they're doing. Highly recommend!

I told myself I wasn't going to get anything unless something truly called out to me... and, well, it happened. A Nanouk caught my eye (and heart), and now it's settling in at home with me. Their outdoor plant selection is broad and vibrant, though I'm not the best at keeping outdoor plants happy, so I admired from afar. Inside, the houseplant section had a good mix of some plants you see often, but also a few rare and interesting ones I don't usually come across, including some unique philodendrons and a couple pothos. The indoor area is on the smaller side, so when it gets a little crowded, it can feel a bit tight... that's probably my only minor critique. That said, the overall vibe was welcoming. I appreciated being greeted when I came in and then left alone to browse when I mentioned I didn't need help. That balance matters. The prices were fair as far as my knowledge in cruising through plant aisles and sections. Nothing unreasonable from my perspective. I'm glad I stopped in, and I'd definitely come back once I and my new Nanouk get to know each other a bit more. All in all, a peaceful and worthwhile plant stop.

They have a lovely store with tons of plant-related merch, but the main attraction is creating your own succulent garden! They have tons of sizes and shapes of containers to choose from. You pick the container - prices are on there. Then they tell you approximately how many plants will fit. There's a huge selection of succulents and cacti, and I believe each little pot costs $5, regardless if it's one or 3-4 small succulents. They told us what to do, but I needed a little more help to actually plant lol once you plant your little garden, there are a variety of ways to even further personalize - we each chose some rocks that were included in your overall price, but they also have more fancy-looking rocks and little trinkets to put in your planter. My husband put a narwhal on his haha. They also gave us very detailed instructions on how to take care of our specific plants, which I really appreciated. I feel the value for the price we paid was completely reasonable, it broke down to about $35 for each planter. I would love to come back again!!

They have a great selection of all kinds of trees as well as fruit trees. I wanted one lemon tree, one orange tree, one peach tree and one plum tree. Jason explained all the different varieties of each. I chose a Meyer lemon tree, one Cara Cara orange tree, one Desert Gold peach tree and one Santa Rosa plum tree. I also spoke with Barb about the care of all the trees, she took the time to give me detailed care explanations on each tree. That really help and she really knows a lot about plants and trees. The crew that delivered and planted the trees were very prompt, skilled and polite. I am very pleased with my whole experience with Whitfill nursery. From the price of the trees to the level of customer service I received. Everyone I interacted with from the time I walked onto the their property to the delivery and the planting of the trees are wonderful. Thank you! Whitfill Nursery.

I shouldn't need to walk all the way back up front to ask -- and I've been giving the wrong information before anyhow. Its important to know what kind of plant you're buying for multiple reasons. The other Whitfill location (off Guadalupe and Cooper) doesn't have this issue. Overall I think the plants are pretty healthy but after having an issue with lack of labeling (on both the kind of plant and pricing), having been given the wrong plant info on a plant, and after having asked if they had Pink Fairy Duster and being sent off in a direction to wander and never find it on my own, I'm really over this location.

Unfortunately, I have to be in a Wi-Fi area in order to use my phone like that. And they don't have Wi-Fi. I needed very specific things size wise. And you're not allowed to open packaging but when you pick up a lamp and you lightly shake it and you hear broken glass, but you're not allowed to open up the package and see what exactly broke why bother buying it at half price if you're not gonna be able to use it. This happened repeatedly also I was looking for a specific size bathroom medicine cabinet. Since much of the writing on the boxes didn't have dimensions, and I couldn't open the boxes because it's against the rules. I could find boxes that I think might've had the right sized item inside but I really couldn't take the gamble especially when I can't see if they're scratches or dents or a door ripped off, etc. I think the only thing I will come back here for is tile. If you're doing a craft project and you need a few pieces of tile or you're doing something special to cover a table top and you only need a few feet. This is the place to come for the tile. Unfortunately, the majority of the tile is not labeled and not priced and I hate having to run up to the counter every single time I find something to find out how much it's gonna cost. It's just ridiculous. I found a similar place, not too far away, where the people don't mind if you open the items to look at them and they will even go so far as to take a light fixture and wire it to a test area to show you that it works. So I think I will keep going to this other place instead.
