Planted by Moon Valley, overpriced and dead within six months even though I watered them
Randall P.

They sent an "expert" landscape planner named Sean who promised it will be big and beautiful it was a very poor job all of the plants that were promised were smaller than expected and way over priced. They were poor quality and were broke. The workers left trash and flags everywhere they didn't tell us that we needed an irrigation line. When we called the manager he came out and gave us a small discount and left we were charged $11,000. Years later, I tried again they charged $6000 for small ficus trees which were in May. I asked him if that was a good idea. They said it was fine and now they're dead. Then they told me for $3000 they can retroactively sell me a warranty. These small trees sell for $89 at Home Depot. I would never go there again. I've been burned twice.

Notice the health looking rose bush emerging and sickly yellow bells. Stay away from moon valley.

Moon Valley did not sell and plant healthy yellow bells 2 years ago in my front yard. They have on 2 occasions replace some of the yellow bells. They are still ugly and look sick and have little growth in 2 years. They are watered and fertilized on a schedule and receive moon juice too. Nothing works to help them. The rose bushes I removed to make room for the yellow bells 2 years ago are starting to emerge under moon valley "inferior yellow bells" and look healthy. I rate my experience with moon valley negative 1000% James

Victoria is the real deal -- she knows plants and was an absolute pleasure to work with! She had an answer for every question we had. As new homeowners who don't know anything about keeping plants alive, we had no clue what we were doing or where to start. Victoria helped us identify plants that would thrive in different areas of our front yard (full sun vs. partial sun, etc.) and provided clear direction on how to make sure our plants are healthy and happy. She was very patient with us and helped us on multiple visits.

I had a great experience with Moon Valley Arcadia. I met Sophia and she made a plan for my backyard. She helped me pick plants that would be good in the sunny area behind the pool. Joey DeSilva and his great crew came and did the planting and really took care to measure out and make sure the area looked symmetrical to the center of the pool. It was an easy process, from meeting up in my yard, to picking plants at the nursery, to having them all planted a few weeks later. I'm very happy with the service I received.

Wow ! I came into Moon Valley today not knowing anything but Bradley was so knowledge and kind. I left with everything my plants needed and a fantastic experience ! Will definitely be coming back!

Purple prickly pear. I've never seen one quite as gorgeous.

I have spent the past few years building up my dream garden with a diverse array of plants, including desert, tropical, and fruit trees. The team at Moon Valley Nurseries has been nothing short of amazing in helping me along the way. I am especially grateful to LP, who has been with me throughout the entire process of creating my dream garden. LP is much more than just a staff member a the nursery; connecting with him is like reuniting with an old friend. LP has instrumental in helping me choose plants that work with the unique challenges and features of my yard, as no two locations in the valley are the same. He consistently demonstrates his ability to understand my needs and the needs of the plants to find a perfect fit. LP is knowledgeable about the care each plant needs and the best way to achieve optimal results. He has been a wealth of knowledge in bringing sickly plants to healthy plants. Beyond his expertise, LP is a genuinely kind, understanding, and caring person who always puts his customers first. While there are many fantastic team members at Moon Valley, when it comes to plants, LP is my go-to and on my speed dial.

The greenhouse manager personally assured us she would tag it with my name and hold it until we arranged pickup. Over the weekend, they sold it to someone else. We found out when we showed up today to pick up the tree we had already paid for. Staff left us sitting alone for 15 minutes while they tried to figure out where it went. Nobody came back to update us, so I had to walk to the front myself to learn it was gone. When I asked for my money back and told them how disappointed I was, all I got were blank stares and what felt like a condescending apology, like I was inconveniencing them! Not one person acknowledged that they failed us. Nobody said "this is on us." Nobody said "our system broke down and we'll work to be better." No offer to find a replacement. No discount on a future purchase. No manager stepping in. Nothing. That's not a one-off mistake that could be recovered from; it's bad customer service and there's no recovering from that. A nursery's word should mean something. Here, a "hold" from their greenhouse manager means nothing. They made the mistake and then made it worse with their indifference. If you buy from Berridge, put it in your car before you leave, because a paid-for plant with your name on it isn't safe overnight. Better yet, take your business somewhere that honors its commitments and acknowledges when they mess up.

We were instantly greeted by the owner and educated on two plants, Swiss cheese plant (Monstera) and Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) that I had interest about. Additional we did some troubleshooting on a Chinese Money Plant (Pilea peperomioides) that is struggling right now. This shop is so cozy, diverse in stock, and full of plant accessories. Ended up with two plants, six (6) terra cotta water drains. They also have fertilizer and soil. Will be back for more plants and supplies. If you are in the East Valley, check this place out for sure.

"The Plant Mill - Not A Dispensary"…read more I stumbled upon this magical plant shop on the busy Mill Ave. What a treat for the senses. A variety of gorgeous green house plants decorate the space. Tucked in are all sorts of other surprises: plant pots, stickers, local art, little gift items, and framed bugs (apparently there's a market for these too). The owner has a fun eye. I was just visiting town so resisted the urge to buy a plant. But I did find a a locally drawn card and local painting of the historic Mill Ave Bridge over Tempe Town Lake, the perfect gift for my boo who was racing the last ever Ironman in Tempe. If you're in Tempe and you're looking for a cool stop beyond bars and restaurants, check out The Plant Mill, and let me know what treasure you find there.

Not only do we go to them during the holidays but rely on them throughout the year when we need additional plants and trees for our backyard. We first started using Whitfill back in the early 2000's when they were on 40th street south of Roeser. We literally lived across the street from their nursery and when they moved to their current spot on Southern we followed! We have decades of photos with our boys standing next to the tree they choose for Christmas and the tradition continues now with our Sphynx cats! They used to have a peacock walking around but unfortunately he is no longer there. They are pet friendly and we are comfortable taking our cats there in the stroller. Not only are their prices and tree selections the best in town but their customer service and knowledge of anything tree related is vast! They know what they are doing and don't try to upsell or get you to buy unnecessary items. They are the real deal!

I shouldn't need to walk all the way back up front to ask -- and I've been giving the wrong information before anyhow. Its important to know what kind of plant you're buying for multiple reasons. The other Whitfill location (off Guadalupe and Cooper) doesn't have this issue. Overall I think the plants are pretty healthy but after having an issue with lack of labeling (on both the kind of plant and pricing), having been given the wrong plant info on a plant, and after having asked if they had Pink Fairy Duster and being sent off in a direction to wander and never find it on my own, I'm really over this location.
