This used to be my go-to nursery and I don't know what happened recently but these prices are bananas. The good about this nursery is most plants are well organized and labeled clearly. But the prices aren't even remotely in line with other local nurseries. The totem pole here is $399.00, 50% off (normal price is apparently almost $800??). There's just no way. I thought I was dreaming. I went to Phoenix Desert Nursery right after this and a totem pole cactus, same size, just as nice as this one, was $100 regular price. Whitfill had prices similar to Phoenix Desert Nursery as well. read more

This review comes straight from my heart. Robert was my saving grace after Berridge Nursery gravely disappointed me. Rarely have I seen this level of eagerness to meet a customer's needs and take on my task with me. We worked through figuring out what plants to buy and how to plant them and it was fun! Robert was knowledgeable and made this process so much better than "the other place". Essentially, Berridge told me that helping figure out what to plant and how to do it would require design consultation, which is outside of what they do and I would need to pay them for that. (What the heck?!) I left "the other place" in tears as mine is a very low budget project for a charter school. I fell into the right hands with Robert. He gave me a cold bottle of water and showed real hospitality; I genuinely felt he cared about my project. This location didn't have all that I needed, but their other location on Tatum did. The manager which is the women at this location ensured my dead plants were replaced with the correct type of plants at no additional Cost. It was due to an error from one of their staff in terms to the slow release fertilizer they had sold me during the summer. They also had them delivered and planted as well. Most of my plants have been purchased through this location due to them guaranteeing their plants. I believe in their plants and I will continue to purchase from this location. We are continuing to receive excellent service and follow up from Moon Valley Nurseries after our initial big planting. Today we had a beautiful grapefruit tree added to the back yard. George and his crew did an excellent job of planting. They also followed up with a small shrub that hadn't done well by replacing it under their comprehensive extended warranty, no-questions-asked. The whole thing was coordinated by Chelsea in the office who arranged for the planting time, the replacement plant, and follow through afterwards to make sure everything went as planned. My husband and I bought multiple trees for our yard. We worked with Brandon when choosing the trees. He was very knowledgeable and helped us choose the best trees for our lot. We had an issue with three of the trees being much smaller than the others and the nursery replaced them with bigger, better trees without complaint! Great experience purchasing a couple of trees for our home in Scottsdale. Mandy was so knowledgeable and offered suggestions for what would work best in the spots in our yard. She showed photos and narrowed down the choices before we walked into the nursery. This was especially helpful with my elderly mother who has a hard time walking. We were provided with all the details to make the planting a success and great follow through with Alexis on any questions we may have both before and after the planting. On the day of planting the crew actually arrived much earlier - they called first to let us know. Brett, Miquel and Carlos were great to work with. They treated our property and the new trees respectfully. Once planted they cleaned up the landscape as if no amount of digging had been done! I had a badly damaged, very large ficus tree in my small yard. John, the Moon Valley arborist, reassured me that the tree was OK but needed some major work. I asked him about an empty spot next to the house that didn't get much sun & he said he had the perfect, specific tree for that spot, a dwarf lemon tree. It took a while to get the work done but now I am so happy! My ficus us recovering and my lemon tree is adorable! Moon Valley is holding my hand while both trees recover. We purchased a tree for inside our home. After discussing the options numerous times with the manager and sales associates. The tree was delivered without the base to the planter ( which we paid for ). We had to wait for someone to bring it out. This tree took 5 men to bring into our brand new home. The base to the planter they gave us was completely defective. The tree was unable to survive indoors ( they should have known that ). We called to have the tree relocated to an outdoor space and lo and behold- our brand new flooring was destroyed by the faulty planter base. After contacting the company- they assured us we would hear back. No one ever called us. Weeks later of us following up- the manager ( Christine , I believe ) told us that it's not something they will address or remedy. I explained it was their product, their tree, their movers, etc. she basically said, " we have no intention of doing anything." I questioned how they can not take any responsibility and she became short. When I requested the info to their legal department she refused to give it to me and said, " Now that you brought up a lawsuit, I can no longer talk to you about this." I NEVER said that word. Considering they RECORD all calls- I can prove this happened. They will not stand behind their word. They don't have to. It's too large a company. Lesson learned. I'll never stop sharing this when the subject of landscaping arises in the future. New floors ruined over their incompetence and lack of accountability. read more

Today we decided to purchase a avocado tree and of coarse I thought of Moon Nursery first, due to our past purchases and great service. I described of what I wanted and he said, "we got that, jump in the truck" , and he took me right to the tree that I wanted!... He went through several of the trees and he found the best, strongest one that he thought I would take home. After picking it out, he recommended the right soil and how to care for it. He got me the rocks for the bottom of the planter, and the proper 2 soils. Went into the office, sat down at his desk, did the paper work for the purchase. She was a fairly new employee and if she wasn't sure about something we asked, she very quickly came back to us with the answer. She was so pleasant, helpful, and has a great sense of humor. She emailed watering schedule, called to let us know when utilities would be marked, and called to confirm planting schedule the day before. Brandon and Taylor have been so helpful! I have been trying to rebuild some of our landscaping with some unique picks at Moon Valley in Arcadia with Brandon and Taylor's help. I would have never tried growing a yellow hibiscus in the Phoenix weather, except for the fact that I know that Moon Valley has already been cultivating that plant in this weather. I am not sure why I have wasted time and money on other nurseries that get their plants from other climates (esp big box stores that ship their plants in from all over the country), they will not survive in this weather. If you want to grow plants in this AZ valley you will eventually realize how important Moon Valley is to help fulfill your projects. read more
