This place has been recommended to me a long time ago, but I never got around to getting here because it seemed like a trek from the East Valley. I tried other nurseries closer by but they don't seem to get their bare root roses in early enough in the season to get them planted in January (which is what is ideal for our climate). So I finally drove here today and I am so glad I did! Not only do they have their bare root roses on sale at the right time of year, their selection is amazing. Why didn't I come sooner???? The staff was so friendly right off the bat. They were quick to offer assistance as I walked the aisles with amazement in my eyes. They were truly knowledgeable about their products and able to answer very specific gardening questions and help a seasoned gardener with their expert recommendations. Their plants looked very healthy and I know they will do well, but if not they do have a 90day warranty. The hardest part was figuring out which to buy because I could have truly bought many more varieties if my yard had more space to put them. I managed to restrain myself...some. Aside from roses, they did have a nice selection of all other plants that are true to the season for planting locally. I find the box stores are less honorable about what they have since it's usually too late to plant whatever they have in stock to reliably do well in our climate. We picked up a couple small fig trees and a pretty flowering vine and I am so excited to see how they do. I definitely will be back for another season of planting when it's time, but I'm really glad we took the time to trek out to Arcadia. read more

Berridge has quickly become my happy place, and even though it's a 45 minute drive to their location from me it's absolutely worth the trip. Everything is well organized, beautiful selections, and more importantly healthy and has a 100% survival rate with me so far. Their plants are healthy, and their rose selection is enough to make the Queen of England weep. It's utterly stunning. The staff are always so helpful and informative, and they are always patient the days I need to take my three small children. I love them! And even though there's a handful of nurseries next to my house--I'll make the trip out there! read more

Use your love this nursery, until I actually needed customer service. Purchase an 85 dollar plant that already looked rough, but the cashier ensured me with their "refund policy". So I bought it and it turned to sticks in two weeks. Their policy is if it's in the original pot and has the tag they will accept a refund. Had all the requirements and they only have me 50% back - I even asked for a full amount store credit, nope! I will be choosing a new nursery! read more

This nursery is located in the Arcadia district just south of Camelback Mountain. They have a tremendous variety of indoor and outdoor plants. They are a little pricier than your run of the mill nursery but you are getting a quality plant so please keep that in mind. Every time I visit there is always staff available to help or answer questions. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. I wanted some vegetable plants for my inside garden and found this place on Yelp. I will say the selection was good. I'm surprised they had so many veggies in mid-January. The reason for the low rating is the staff just isn't friendly. The older guy in the rose department just ignored me and when I asked a woman about what soil to use for the houseplants in my cart, she told me to go and ask someone else. For the prices they charge they should be both friendly and knowledgeable. In short: Great selection/quality, rude staff and expensive. I wouldn't return. read more

I am a regular customer at Berridges. I am frequently in search of particular plants, especially Nicotiana (Tobacco) plant. I ask about it every time I visit which is about once a week. Last week, I was told again, that they didn't have it and were not going to get it. The story changes every time, as to why they don't have it. I have bought in years past. The tone is always as though I know nothing, the plant people, let's call them, are plant snobs. So I pull into the parking lot, and see several of them planted in the parking lot beds. The plastic pots that they came out of are still sitting there. I go in, a bit miffed, I would say. Here is what should have happened, not hard: Oh, let's get one of those out of the ground for you and into a plastic pot and it's on us. What did happen, was a bunch of lame excuses, that the plants came in damaged. Don't look damaged to me. read more

So disappointed. I know customer service is not what it used to be but I could always count on Berridge if I bought a planter and a plant to pot it for me at no extra charge. That is why I didn't mind going out of my way to buy plants and items there. Well no more. I asked them to pot something for me, thinking that it was still a free service, thinking good customer service, then after I got the planter potted I realized there was a charge for the soil and the labor to put it in. Unfortunately, I will no longer be going to Berridge. That was the benefit of going there because of their good customer service. I guess everything ends. Very disappointed in my shopping experience. To add, if they would have said to me since we love our customers, we will do this as a one time only this time to thank you for being a good customer, I would have come back again and paid to have it potted next time now that I am educated of the change in policy. But that wasn't offered so I sadly had them unpot the plant because I wasn't told before they potted it the cost and sadly took my plant and pot home to repot when I got home. I called ahead to make sure they allowed public shopping during the pandemic. It was a go, so we headed in the car to this ritzy little area. There is tons of parking and carts to transport your new goodies around the nursery and to your car. The soils are right at the exit which is perfect for a last minute grab, as we did. Hard to forget it that way. Of course only the good stuff and at a premium over Home Depot, but we're supporting small businesses, right? #worthit The pot selection was legit. We had a very important plant to repot and found just what we were looking for. It wasn't mass produced and had some one-of-a-kind flair to it. We also picked up a cute little pot with a poinsettia flower inside...which I thought was included because the plant wasn't priced...but alas, that set me back an extra $7. In the name of small businesses, small price to pay. Workers and fellow shoppers were masked and the indoor/outdoor feel was awesome. Will return for all my plant baby needs. read more

Hands down the best nursery in Arizona we have been to. We had been wanting to visit this local nursery for months now and finally got a chance. This place is unbelievable, so well organized and their staff is super friendly. We mainly came for their selection of roses but landed up shopping more than that. They have David Austin roses, and rose lovers totally dig that selection. Their quality is excellent and they have a return policy of 90days if the plant doesn't do well. They have soil, compost, pottery, fruit trees, indoor plants and much more. They meet all your garden needs. We landed up buying peach tree, plum tree and 3-4 rose plants. They are reasonable and you pay for the quality they provide. It's a good 30miles one way for us but totally worth the drive. Totally in love with this local place and great way to support local. read more

I called this nursery to present my task: I had a vegetable garden to plant on a tight budget - at my daughter's public charter school nearby. The woman who answered told me to ask for Joel, for he was the most knowledgeable about growing veggies and he could help me (since I wanted a successful one!). I arrived and told Joel "I have a very small, approx 2' x 15' space, and I need help choosing what veggies to plant. I want the plants to have a good chance and so I need help discerning (verses just buying what's on the wish list from these children). Would we need a trellis? A rabbit proof fence? " This man breathed with exasperation and said, "well what you're talking about is a design job - that is my expertise but if you want all that advice you have to pay extra." If he didn't have time, he could have directed me to someone else; he didn't. He looked at me like I was a dollar sign and the irony was I am a caring and hardworking parent - the only parent able to donate my time on this school project - and the absolute last thing I need is for an arrogant employee to up-charge me. I will never shop here again. My family won't either. read more

This review is for the person who is an employee and helped me at the nursery. I went over to get my bareroot rose bushes. Joel helped me pick them out, explaining to look for thick, sturdy canes with as many branches as possible. I asked him a bunch of questions like light, watering, planting, fertilizing, etc., etc., you know, the whole gamut of making sure the plants thrive if I'm going to be paying money for it. I picked out four bushes. He washed off the roots, cut off the tops, and carefully wrapped them very carefully and tightly in paper with some kind of weed compost around it so the roots wouldn't dry out. If you go to Berridge, I hope you get Joel or someone just as knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. And, yes, it is a very nice, well-stocked nursery. Berridge is the closest locally owned nursery to our home and I love popping in here to pick up some colorful beauties! They are usually pretty helpful when I have questions on plant care, where I should put them, etc. I came in this week to pick out a plant for our 100% shaded front entry. I've gone through THREE plants that haven't made it and realized that I needed some professional help this time. The lady working the front (not the friendliest but hey) sent me to the greenhouse where (I wish I got her name) the gal was SO friendly and helped me pick out the perfect plant for this space! I just love it. Now here's to hoping it will last, especially because it was $60! That said, I do think they are pricier than other nurseries in the area but the quality of their plants is great and I always love supporting local! read more

Love going to Berridge but sad to find today that there was no seating in the shade to rest. We are usually there an hour looking around and for health reasons I have to limit sun exposure and rest at times. It would be nice if a few shady spots had seating for the older and health compromised customers. We like to garden too! read more

After several attempts today I was calling to see if they carry a simple bedding item. The Nursery screens their calls and answers what calls they want to answer. Finally ,after a few attempts I called from an anonymous phone # and got an answer. The gentleman that answered the phone never asked if he can put me on hold, or even said anything about putting me on hold. Instead, he hung up the phone. When I called back and asked if he could hear me OK, he became very argumentative with me and told me,"He asked if I could hold? (Trust me he didn't ask) He then placed me on hold. I then decided I would rather give my business to another nursery. Sadly but Berridge Nursery has the wrong person answering their phones. read more

I wish I had discovered this oasis years ago! It feels like a secret garden hidden in the heart of the desert. The plants are slightly more expensive than a Lowe's or Home Depot but the quality of the plants and the customer service can't be beat. I wanted to buy every pot and species of plant I saw in the Greenhouse. After a quick consult I found a few low maintenance plants and got some tips on how to keep these ones alive (RIP to the ones I've brought home before). During my consult I learned quite a few things I was doing wrong, including replanting too soon and how to know when each plant I selected is thirsty. Give yourself some extra time, there is a small art area and a great place to just walk around. Many areas have small displays with a variety of pots/plants to get your creative juices flowing. I'd be surprised if this place didn't have something to fit your needs. Highly recommend even just stopping in to explore. All employees are wearing masks, social distancing, and wearing gloves. read more

Visited this nursery again after my last visit went so well. This time I had a little bit of a challenging plant situation. I spoke with an amazingly helpful young woman named Ella who helped me not only pick out a plant for an oddly placed planter but also talked to me about a succulent I had almost killed. She was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me get hands on with my plants. I highly recommend finding Ella if you have plant questions! She was amazing.
