Some limits as to what cactus inventory (well-suited to all desert conditions) they carry, but what they have is in good shape. Great advice as to what water is needed (freshly-planted vs mature) and feeding; what sun exposure a specific plant needs or does best in; potting vs being planted in the ground; how to train a plant for best results. Prices are high, but in this economy, what isn't? Still, there are bargains to be found. Very nice people who know their stuff (in other words, no cashiers pretending to know plants, like those you meet at Home Depot and Loews). read more

My wife and I are big fans of Jackrabbit Nursery. We've bought a LOT of plants from them and they're all still alive and thriving. Things I love about this place are the personalized service and expertise. These guys know their plants and they don't seem to try and upsell you like Moon Valley (which is a massive racket). Here they will take the time to explain things and help you choose the best plants for your space. They know Arizona (obviously) and will steer you toward plants that do well in this hellacious climate :) They have a great selection of organic fertilizers, soils, and amendments. They will deliver, and they carry a huge selection of plants, trees, succulents, cacti, flowers, and everything else. Their selection is one of the best I've seen and their prices are really good. Don't waste your time at the big box stores. You'll get a better plant and service from Jackrabbit. I'd recommend them to anybody who just moved in or is looking to landscape. Aaaand you can call them a month later and they'll actually spend time with you on the phone. Try 'em. read more

We have made a few small purchases over the last couple of years at Jackrabbit Nursery and have always been happy. This year we did a complete remodel of our front yard. We removed all bushes and a tree and built a cactus garden. Because we were doing a lot of work we explored several nursery's in the Phoenix area. No other nursery could even come close to the variety of cactus that we found at Jackrabbit. And the prices are 1/2 to 1/3 less than we found elsewhere. We are sun birds from Oregon and unfamiliar with local growing conditions and care of cactus and we appreciated the detailed advice we received at Jackrabbit nursery. They also had a reasonable price of $40 to deliver our purchases to the Goodyear Arizona area. It's a family owned and operated business and we wish them continued success. This nursery is incredible! I've only been in AZ a short time but have searched out several places to landscape my backyard and by chance came across this nursery today. And it is the best I have seen! Family owned and very friendly and educated in desert gardening and landscaping. And their selection is tops on my list plus their quality of plants is 2nd to none...did I mention the prices ? Wow! I picked up 4 nice size palms and some large cactus for the price that some of these nurseries want for just a couple plants.
