    Pineapple Palm

Pleasant experience from start to finish! We purchased a Pineapple Palm from Moon Nursery. We were lucky to have Ricardo Ramos and his crew remove our existing 30ft tree. The crew were professional and hard working and did a great job! 3 hrs later Nestor Beltran and his partner came to remove the stump, and prepared the ground for the planting, they did an awesome job! 2 days later Myron Perez came with his crew and delivered and planted our Pineapple Palm and did an great job! We are super happy with the end results and would definitely recommend Moon Nursery! Steve & Julie S

Aaron and his crew once again did an amazing job! Aaron is very personable and remembered our plantings from a few years ago. The crew replaced a palm for us and took a lot of care with the removal and the replacement. The planting process was done professionally and they all took extra care to clean up after the with not only the planting supplies but the loose dirt and mulch as well. The replacement palm matches the size of our others from Moon Valley and we're happy to have it replaced

This place is completely overpriced and we got ripped off on everything we purchased. Found out from the guy that used to work for the company after he quit. The same palm tree that we paid $650 each for was selling at Lowe's and Home Depot for $150. Buyer beware.

On April 30 I purchased a Meyer Lemon Tree from Moon Valley Nursery. At the time of purchase, I was told the dirt like residue on the leaves was simply dirt and would wash off. The sales representative said they get dusty from sitting out, which made sense to me at the time. It was not dirt, but rather a fungicide spray residue. This was not disclosed and I'm still being lied to about it a month later. Two weeks after purchase, on May 14, I called in and tried to speak with someone about my tree. When I connected with a gentleman on the phone, I believe his name was Troy, he didn't ask me any questions about what was going on, he just said to water it daily and give it Moon Juice. I told him I was provided Moon Dust and he said that would shock my tree and not to give it that. He asked how long it had been in the ground and if they planted it or I did, and I told him it was still in the pot. He told me to give it Moon Juice and water, and the conversation was then over. Feeling defeated, I texted with the sales representative I purchased the tree from, showed him pictures, and inquired about the health of the tree. He told me he'd have the Arborist look at it the next day and advise. The next day I was told it "doesn't look that bad," and to give it half a handful of fertilizer and a little more sun (it gets full sun all day). I was then told to update them in a couple of weeks and if it still needs attention or replacement to let him know and he'll take care of it for me. I followed up again this week on May 28, two weeks after the previous contact. After a day of no response, I was sent a quick text that the arborist would look at it tomorrow. (Noticing a trend?) On Friday, after no response, I packed up the sick leaves and fruit and walked back into the nursery asking for answers about what was wrong with my tree, considering it was a lot of money spent. I was then deferred to their tree expert who was one of the least professional individuals I have ever met in my life (I wish I would've caught his name, I have a hunch it was the same rude gentleman from the phone call). He told me after looking at the photos I sent the sales rep that the new growth was "sexy" and he was happy to see my tree looking like it was this time of year. I was again told there was nothing wrong with my tree, to water it like crazy, and to purchase their insecticide which would allegedly help the tree, even though this "expert" just got done telling me my tree was fine. After some research and discussion with actual tree experts, it was identified it has a fungal disease and the residue on my leaves was from a previous fungal spray application. This has not been disclosed in my numerous conversations with more than one representative at this location. They are not forthright and their business practices are shady, at best. If I could provide 0 stars, I would. I hope this review deters even one person from doing business with them. I would hate to see anyone else waste their hard earned money from a nursery that does not care about their customers or doing the right thing. If you dig a little deeper into Moon Valley Nurseries, not just this location, you'll learn this is a common theme from customers who purchase plants or trees from them without using their landscaping services.

Way overpriced, we looked here and went down the street for a better tree at $100 lower.

Do you guys sell seeds and soil? Compost?

Hi Marco, Most locations will have seeds, soil, and compost in stock but I recommend calling ahead…

Do you remove extra dirt when planting trees for customers? Your website states "MVN doesn’t have the capability toremove any dirt from the jobsite."

Hi Lon, When digging holes for trees, we sure can remove a little extra dirt!…

John welcomed me with a handshake (a real one, not that weak stuff some guys give) and listened to my needs. I showed him the pics of what I needed and he rattled off the names and showed me what they had. For the coral fountain and purple lantana there was a lot to choose from. For the red bird of paradise (15 gal) there was only one up front and it wasn't a 10/10. He offered to take me in the back to look at others but I was in a time crunch. He went back, grabbed a beautiful specimen, and was back up front with it next to my truck before I paid. Awesome service from all (esp John) and I think their prices are better than the big box stores. I'll be back, thanks guys!

Now most of their business comes from landscapers. They come in and order what they want. They do cell tonthe general public as well. When I came in and told her what I wanted she tried ringing it up right away. I let her know I wanted to pick it out. The gal up front greated me and was nice. So was the gal whe sweet gal who took me to the plants but didn't speak much English. We managed just fine working together. This is a place you go to do business at, but you won't get that warm fuzzy personable experience which is totally fine with me. Their Ocotillos weren't what I was looking for so I was on my way. Still worth checking out if ever looking for desert or tropical plants. Many are under shade but still get sun. Just think of where you'll be planting it verses how they are growing it and you should be fine. They are very busy.

I had a small used plumbing part in my hand and knew I just need to go in, match the size and color to what they have on display on wall hooks, checkout and leave. As got out of my vehicle near the front door . . . again, at 5:54 pm . . . an employee who was wheeling products sitting outside on the sidewalk into the store said they are closing. I showed him the used part I had in my hand and said I just need to run in and grab it off a wall hook display, purchase it and leave. He emphasized their need to close. Another customer drove up after me and parked next to me, then entered Sunwest True Value behind me. I ignored the snarky employee, went to the plumbing section, could not find what I needed in the size and color I needed and began leaving at 5:56 pm. Instead, when I turned around the snarky employee who was closing the store at 5:54 pm was behind me. He had followed me. I explained they did not have what I needed, therefore I said I need to get out of here because they close at 6:00 pm. The snarky employee instead insisted on looking at what I had and began searching on the wall hooks for the part I needed. I reminded him the store is closing at 6:00 pm, they do not have the part that I need, so I need to leave. He said, 'Well, I'm here to help you'. I explained they do not have it, reminded him they close at 6:00 pm, but he still insisted. So I stood there while he searched the same display I had just searched. He turned around and said to me they do not have what I need. He followed me back to the front door telling me where I can alternatively go find the part that I needed somewhere else or something like that. As I walked by the cashier, the customer that arrived after me had also already found what they came for, was paying for it and then exited out behind me. I was pleased I was able to at least distract the snarky employee so the other customer could get in to get what he needed without being lectured the entire time like I was. I'll be curious to see if this True Value franchisee is able to survive based on 1) the way they communicate with their customers, plus 2) selling enough volume by closing earlier than their posted closing times. They should at least post their true closing time of 5:54 pm, instead of misleading people by posting 6:00 pm as their closing time.
