We were lucky enough to be helped by Jordan, who explained which plants would be best for us, how to care for them, and how to transfer them to different pots. His product knowledge was exceeded only by his willingness to "go the extra mile" to provide an outstanding customer experience. All that same day. 4 days later Crew Foreman Pastor called me in the early AM said they were on their way and 20 minutes later there was a full crew installing plants in the yard. We had a new tree that didn't make it through the hot summer and Moon Valley stood by their warranty and helped us find a solution. We connected with Jordan who gave me his number to reach out directly to help. He asked me to send photos of the tree and where it was located in our front yard so he could help problem solve and find the best tree for the spot while still fitting the esthetic we were looking for. Jordan was super responsive and gave me options to consider and encouraged us to come out to the nursery to take a look. He led us around and showed us the different options and stages of trees. He gave us time to consider our options and choose the perfect tree for us. He made the whole process smooth and without complication. Afterwards, I've reached out a few times again and he has made it evident that he and the team at Moon Valley are there to help us have the best experience possible. I went to Moon Valley Nursery looking to purchase 4 trees. I met Patrick McCoy he took the time to walk with me all over the nursery and we chose 4 beautiful trees, and the price was right. They delivered and planted my trees yesterday, they were great about letting me know when they were coming. Although Moon Valley Nursery has a wide range of beautiful plants and the salesman are very helpful, their execution of delivery of their products are undesirable. The first order of plants and trees made last year included delivered plants that looked as if they were off Home Depot's clearance rack. It took them over two weeks with the follow-up delivery of the healthy plants we ordered and when the personnel planted one of the replacements the branches were broken leaving us with one healthy stalk to support future growth from. In addition, we changed our order (added more plants) from our original order and every time a change was made the salesman cancelled the original order and placed an entire new order in lieu of just refunding a plant or tree and adding the new merchandise. It caused a tremendous amount of confusion with the plants that were on sale that were no longer on sale and discounts that needed to be applied to ensure our out the door price was accurate. We purchased Queen palms and bought the guarantee policy. The Queen Palms did not make it due to the harsh heat and as a result we exchanged the palms for other trees. We were expecting delivery of the trees today. We received notification from the driver they were 10 minutes away. Two hours later my husband calls Moon Valley to find out what's going on, only to be told our planting had been cancelled due to equipment and the rain. We can understand the rain but then to not receive a courtesy call to reschedule is unacceptable. When we did try to reschedule the associate apologizes and says since we were scheduled for a "Monday planting, they don't do Wednesday planting it gives me (her) more options". So then when we start discussing dates, nothing is available. When we ask her, "Well, then what works for you?" she states, "I'd like to look into it, if you can give me about an hour or so". So, here we are waiting. Wasted an entire day, waiting. There might be a great group of people working there, but their processes are poorly executed. read more

We are extremely happy with our experience at Moon Valley Nursery. Josh Salaiz was incredible to work with. He is very knowledgeable of all their selections and took a ton of time with us to learn about the vision for our yard and then walked us throughout the nursery and made recommendations on everything from colors, size, placement and necessary care. He also set up the delivery and installation; all of which went off without a hitch. The crew that arrived on installation day were fast and very friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy with the placement and quality of each plant. Beautiful plants and trees. Saw this nursery while driving elsewhere, and decided to stop. I have been wanting a lemon tree, and decided to check it they had them. Does Moon Valley have lemon trees? That they do. Not only do they have lemon trees, they have a variety of other citrus and fruiting trees. They also have other native and non native plants and trees. All seemed to be healty. This place is huge. There are aisles and aisles of trees. There may be more shade provided by plants here than anywhere else in the West Valley. A selection of large ceramic pots is also available. Moon Valley Nursery also provides planting services. At the time of my visit, some of the largest trees included planting. Prices are "cash and carry." Delivery may also be set up for a fee. Plenty of people to help. I was greeted upon arrival, and asked what I was looking for. He then offered to walk me, or point me in the right direction. After saying the being pointed in the right direction would be enough he said he would check on me later. I ended up not purchasing anything. Lemon trees planted in a 15 gallon bucket were $299. That was too pricey for me. As I was leaving, I was walking behind a couple who also did not purchase anything. They were discussing how expensive prices here are. read more

Picked up a Tangelo tree and Scott and his crew delivered it. They did a excellent job, unfortunately the tree box didnt fit thru the gate so these poor guys had to spend about 30-45 minutes getting the tree out of the box and onto a tarp to get thru the gate. They pulled it off though and it looks great. We also got a Indian Laurel tree from there 1-2 years ago that looks amazing aswell. My least favorite nursery in town. Sales people will tell you anything to make a sale. Bought several trees from here and regret it so much. They plant horribly, fight on replacing trees even if you purchased the warranty and don't stake the trees properly. There are so many other nurseries in town that it doesn't make sense to shop here. Summerwinds, Horizon, Elgin, Whitfill, A&P, RSI growers(fruit trees) and even Greenlife are much better places. Save your money! read more

My husband and I were interested in having our backyard landscaped. I was looking for ideas on the Moon Valley Nursery website and noticed they were offering a free consultation. Their online form was easy to use so I set up a time for one of their professionals to come out and give me a quote. Enter Garrett Harper... Garrett sent me a text stating he would be calling to go over expectations, Garrett was attentive and listened to what we wanted, offered some preliminary thoughts and most importantly understood the budget we needed to adhere to. Next Garrett came to the house and looked at what we had to work with. I provided a list of plants/bushes/trees that I wanted to use, some of which Garrett agreed with but also gave an honest opinion on why he didn't think others would work. Garrett then left informing us he was going back to the nursery to mock up a design. Next we got the mock up and it was even better than I had hoped for. Garrett relied on his vast expertise to create the most beautiful deign. The flow was perfect and the plants he selected created a very peaceful surrounding. We went to the nursery to pay for everything we ordered, Garrett could not have been more pleasant and easy to deal with, he went over everything from the watering schedule to the fertilizer, to when we could be scheduled for delivery. You would think at this point his work would be done... he made the sale, however, Jack and I were not through with our questions. Each and every time we went to the nursery Garrett was there with a smile on his face and a willingness o review our additional questions. Garrett also provided his cell number and took my call on his day off... Lastly, we still needed two plants for the corners of the area, I scoured our neighborhood and reached out to friends for ideas. We narrowed it down to three, Garrett was so attentive, took us to each of the plants we were looking at but never tried to sway us to anything in particular. Due to their vast selection, we saw something we had never seen in the neighborhood and decided they were exactly what we wanted. Garrett informed us that they would fit very nicely where we wanted them. Moon Valley will always have our business and I will always look for Garrett, he totally gets me!!! If you get the opportunity to work with him you will not be disappointed. ALMOST PLANTING TIME The big day is almost here. We received an email from Michael O'Brien letting us know that the crew would be arriving in the next few days, the email also included a pre-installation checklist and what to expect post installation that I could download and save. Very helpful... Now the day has arrived, Ben, the foreman calls to let me know what time he and his crew would arrive, and prompt they were. After Ben had a chat with my husband the crew got busy digging. We went out to check on the progress a few times and Ben always had a moment to chat and see if we were satisfied with the look. We had a discussion on exactly where to put the last 6 smaller plants and Ben gave us his thoughts which turned out to be perfect... Ben and his team were quite efficient and did their job with the utmost professionalism. When they left there was nothing out of place, they did a fabulous job of cleaning up. Ben checked with us again, went over the watering schedule and asked if there was anything else we needed him to review before they left. Ben was wonderful to work with... if you get the opportunity to work with him you will not be disappointed. The prices may be a bit on the high side with some selections, but very reasonable when you consider that most (if not all) of the trees were grown specifically from root stock to deal with our hot AZ summers. I've been working with Sheena for over a year, and she is GREAT! I have since learned to trust her selections and advice after my own trial and error. We have been buying landscaping from Moon Valley Nurseries since moving to AZ 10 years ago and have always had great customer service but this past week they really impressed us! We made arrangements for a new palm delivery but 2 days prior to delivery my husband had to have emergency eye surgery which meant we would not be at home for the arranged delivery time. I called the Surprise office to see what could be done, thinking we'd need to reschedule. I spoke with Bobby who told me no problem, we don't need to be at home, just mark where we need the tree planted, make sure the crew has entry and they'll take care of everything just let them know this when they call to let us know delivery time frame. I told Cassandra this when she called for delivery time and she said she would advise the crew. When we got home from the doctor's office we were thrilled to see the new palm planted and the crew (driver was Blake) had left the place spotless. In fact, when we first got home we thought they hadn't even come because it was immaculate not even a stone out of place!!! During summer 2023 we lost 40 plants due to the brutal heat. In November Michael Brooks helped us select replacements including a perfect Palo Verde tree and several other native plants. Because of the huge number of new plants needed in the valley we waited until today, January 8, 2024 for our turn for them to be put in the ground. Aaron and his crew did an outstanding job planting in our garden and instructing us on watering. They took great care in moving the top dressing gravel and even buried the ugly stump of the large Joshua tree we lost. Coming to Surprise AZ from states where you have hundreds of choices of gorgeous, colorful plants we wanted something unique for our large courtyard at SC Grand. We did not want the standard cactus and tumbleweed looking plants. Selection was great and eventually worked out a plan for 18 shrubs and 3 trees including hibiscus tree. Aaron and company did a wonderful job with installation. Plants were very healthy and Aaron was very patient working with us on placement. Did have problem with 4 incorrect plants we received but no problem. Victoria (a sweetheart) scheduled return the next week with Aaron. Showed up on time and not only planted the 4 but the crew checked the previous installed. After, he spent time to explain the maintenance and care and make sure we were satisfied. I have spent a decent amount of money here over the years. My conclusion: ALL trees go into shock once they get off the moon juice - it's the equivalent to crack cocaine for plants. And we know what happens to addicts once they withdraw, right!? Wouldn't be as much of a concern, but Moon Valley has really cut back on warranty coverage over the years. For me, the beauty and selection they offer is not worth the price and rough first year of growth. read more
