**SCOTT TALLEY - BEWARE** I was recently given a recommendation from B&B Pools for our pool deck repair / surface. They provided Scott Talley. Scott came out to our house and reviewed the job and took all the measurements. We agreed to move forward and have him do the job. He showed up and began painting one of our pool boulders which wasn't even close to being what we originally had (he was using blood red). Shortly after he started doing that, he called me and informed me he was walking off the job, with no legitimate reason for doing so. Not sure how a contractor does something like this but now we are stuck with and incomplete job and a half-painted pool boulder. With that said, beware of Scott Talley and do business with him at your own risk. I have also alerted the B&B staff regarding referring this guy moving forward.

This place is located on SE corner of Baseline and McClintock. It is located in the corner near a pet boarding place and Little India. I thought it was a pool repair place but they also sell pool supplies and equipment. I called them because my pump was leaking and they told me they were booked for the next 10-14 days. But the guy said take some pictures and come into the store and they will take a look and see if they could tell me what to do and save some money. So I took the pictures and went in. They told me some parts needed to be replaced. They told me it wasn't difficult to take it apart and which bolts to take out. I did watch a YouTube video. I just searched "how to take apart Pentair pool pump." The pump was a little different but key aspects are make sure the power supply is off from the fuse box because you need to detach some wires (see photo). You do need to mark the wires so you reattach them correctly. I used a permanent marker to mark one red (see photo). Then I took it in and they replaced the worn out parts for $32. I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up the same afternoon. It definitely would have cost over $100 if someone came to the house plus would have had to wait at least a week. Another important fact, make sure the filter vent is open when you turn the power supply back on. Because when I switched on the power, the pump started immediately and there was a lot of air in the system. And you need to make sure the air in the system can get out when the water enters otherwise it could explode. Just like when you backwash the filter. Anyway they saved me a lot of time and money.

Constantly top notch. They have what I need, they know how things work, they are fast and attentive. Don't know what else we could ask for.

We bought a house in Tempe and CAM Pools was servicing it, so we continued with them. After some…read morebig storms, the pool was a mess. [Added later: CAM's own report had photos showing it was a mess, but these aren't apparently reviewed by the owner.] CAM Pools didn't do much to clean up, and never told us hey, you need to pay more for storm cleanup. They basically left it to us to unclog the vacuum robot and clean up which we did as best we could. The chemistry was also very bad, as we found out later. The pressure on the pool filter was also way too high. [Added later: CAM's technician dutifully sent us a photo showing the pressure at 28 psi, but never told us that was bad.] That's all fixable, but they broke a tile (covering a skimmer basket) and never told us. Not great. But why they get only two stars is when I called the phone number in the "we cleaned your pool" email to cancel our service, the owner was positively mad at me for canceling without giving him a chance to fix the issues. He was angry and blamed me for not calling him earlier. He never apologized for these obvious problems or took responsibility. He wanted to yell at me for daring to complain without having called him first. Hard to believe that his company messed up and his angry reaction was that it was all my fault. [Added later: Note the owner's responses are "I'm sorry you feel that way" not "I'm sorry my company messed up." I hung up because he wanted to continue to argue with me about how I should have given him a chance to fix these problems. I was done with CAM and had every right to cancel without explanation. I never asked him to fix anything. If he really has a recording, I hope he posts it.] Contractors make mistakes. That's part of the territory. But blaming and yelling at the customers is not good. Maybe he had a bad day, so he gets two stars instead of one.

He was always on top of everything and kept us informed throughout the entire process. He regularly messaged us to let us know what to expect each week, which made everything much easier. Tyler was always checking on the job site to make sure everything was being done correctly. If something went wrong, he took care of it within 24 hours. When the pool equipment was installed in a way we didn't like, Tyler came out and made sure it was changed to the way we wanted it. One thing that really stood out to us was how much Tyler went above and beyond toward the end of the project. We found out our pool was going to be finished after my surgery, and I would not be able to swim for six weeks. Tyler worked hard to get our pool completed the day before my surgery, so I could enjoy it before her recovery. Overall, Tyler was amazing. He was responsive, reliable, and kept us informed every step of the way. He truly cared about making sure everything was done correctly and that we were happy. We really appreciate all of his hard work and would highly recommend Tyler and Presidential Pools to anyone building a pool!

Let me start by saying this was, without question, the worst experience I have ever had with a…read morebuilder or pool company. We chose Presidential Pools based on a friend's recommendation. The initial sales process was great--they designed exactly the pool we wanted. Unfortunately, once we signed the contract, the experience changed dramatically. Before excavation, the third-party excavation company claimed their equipment would not fit and that my gas meter would have to be removed. The gas company told me this could leave my home without gas for several weeks. When I called the excavation company, the representative said he could make it work if I paid him $250 under the table. Before signing, Presidential's designer had measured the property and I specifically asked multiple times if the equipment would fit. I was assured it would. I contacted Presidential and refused to proceed if removing my HOA wall was the only option. They eventually found another excavation contractor who confirmed a machine would fit. It was tight, but no gas meter removal was needed, and excavation was completed without issue. More concerning, before this was resolved, the sales manager told me Presidential would simply pay the original contractor the $250 because "they do this all the time." Rather than addressing the request, they appeared willing to accommodate it. After excavation, construction stopped for nearly two weeks and continued at an extremely slow pace. I repeatedly had to point out defects to the project manager and ultimately went through two project managers. Communication deteriorated, with calls and texts frequently unanswered and little apparent oversight of subcontractors. The crews also showed little respect for my property. My backyard was repeatedly left with cigarette butts, drink containers and other debris. They broke my garden hose, which I reported in person and by text, but it was never replaced. The workmanship had numerous issues. Waterline tile was installed without proper spacers, leaving tiles unevenly spaced and out of level. Several tiles had rough, poorly cut edges. Repairs were attempted, but visible inconsistencies remain. The decking caused another major delay. We waited over a month because Presidential had not ordered the material after we made our selection. I was told they don't order materials immediately because customers may change their minds and they lack storage space. Regardless, this unnecessarily delayed the project. Within a week of deck installation, polymeric sand had begun washing out and sinking. About a month later, several deck tiles sounded hollow when walked on, some appeared to be settling, and portions of the base were showing signs of cracking. Another serious concern was the gas line trench. It was dug so close to my home that the bottom of the foundation was exposed. My independent home inspector documented this during my home warranty inspection. This raised serious concerns about the care taken during the installation. We were promised we would be swimming in approximately 60 days. Instead, the project took approximately six months. I will include photos, emails, texts and documentation of the workmanship and construction issues. I expected a professional experience and quality product from a company with Presidential Pools' reputation. Instead, I experienced poor communication, repeated delays, questionable business practices, inadequate oversight and workmanship that did not meet reasonable expectations. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Presidential Pools.
