Very good food!! Still more of a Los Palominos fan to be honest, but I go here on occasion as well because the atmosphere is awesome! I love the wall art,and every booth and chair is beautiful. I have gotten the Fajitas(delish), the tacos, enchiladas and chimichangas, all of which were amazing!! Not many places I would give a 5 star rating to but I think its worth it. My wife and I really enjoy Mexican food and are picky about the taste and quality of certain items. Los Aztecas is excellent...anything from great margaritas, in which you can choose your Tequila, down to the home made chips and salsa. The guacamole was excellent. I have to admit, this place has gone down hill since it first came to town. I don't know if they've changed things due to new management or something, but it's grown more disappointing the more time that passes. I really love their shrimp in any dish I can put it in, but the prices and poor/slow service turns me off from going there. read more

It seems like this place may be catered to those who believe Mexican food should taste more like something from Taco Bell. Although the service on my visit was fine, I did not care for the meal and neither did anyone I was with. I've been here twice and haven't been disappointed yet. The meal always starts out with delicious chips and salsa. The food is fairly authentic which is a major bonus and the ingredients are always very fresh. It's great to see a new addition like this in Mt. Pleasant. This place blows las senoirita out of the water. I've had the same waiter both visits and I've gotten nothing but excellent service. And to top it off, the drinks are awesome. read more

I'm not a big fan if Mexican so I may not be the best person to review but you can talk it or leave it. The service was excellent despite our large party. Our food probably came about 8 minutes after we ordered! I would recommend this to anybody who likes Mexican food. read more

Pretty good food. Service was fast, but my son ordered a dozen wings off of the menu and he only received eight. When I mentioned it our waiter he said they changed the size of the wings and now they only served eight. My sisters were not happy with their drinks and again the waiters offered no help. read more

Generally, I love the food here. My only complaint is you never know what you are going to get. I guess some people would like this but for example, I really don't like onions. So if onions are not in the menu description and I get onions, I'm a little disappointed. I like their nachos supremos a lot but it's different every single time. Sometimes I get jalapeños, sometimes not. Sometimes there is beef, sometimes there is chicken, sometimes they have both! Sometimes there is melted shredded cheese, sometimes there is queso blanco sauce on it. Its a serious guessing game until I take the lid off the container. The food is alright----I hate, hate, hate their rice. It is always cold, clumpy, and has weird vegetables in it like lima beans. The service is bad. Our server made us feel like we were bothering him. We were never asked of we need a chip or drink refill and when he brought the bill he lurked. It was pretty uncomfortable. read more

While I prefer Los Palomino's overall, this place is pretty good. The real main difference is that this place has a more "festive" atmosphere and is conducive to drinking for the sake of drinking. What I mean is that at Palomino's you go to get some food and might order a beer whereas here you typically go for some Margaritas and some Corona and might get some tacos, too. Also, the menu here is huge. I mean preposterously huge. It is SEVEN crammed pages of options. Most everything I've tried has been pretty solid. Only complaints might be that the meats seem to be oft overcooked and a bit dry or tough, but otherwise pretty tasty. My best finds so far are the Tacos Al Pastor (they have Palomino's beat on those, but you didn't hear that from me, got it?) and the burrito Jalisco. The service can be spotty at times (they seem to disappear for long periods of time), which is yet another reason I like Palomino's more, but I haven't wanted to choke one yet, so I've definitely had worse. read more

Food was good, love the salsa flavor. Taco shells are typical store bought shells. The service was slow, we ordered two tacos and two tostadas and it took 30 minutes for food to come. I would come again and hope for faster service next time. read more

Probably the most consistent food in town and best quality overall. You can come in here and get any of their entrees or salads and not leave disappointed. The salsa is good, chips fresh and the servers a prompt with your order. It might not be Mexico but they do a pretty good job for central Michigan. read more

I can say with the certainty of 11 years out west and a Hispanic heritage that this place has the best Mexican food (my mom aside) in town.

Aztecas is my new favorite place to go for dinner & a drink. If you are a margarita drinker, theirs are fabulous! 'Rita specials are Thursdays...get a jumbo (22 oz, I think) for $4.99 and on Friday you can get a 68 oz pitcher for $9.99. I take mine on the rocks with salt so I can't really say about the frozen concoction type :) We've tried quite a few of the items on the menu (HUGE menu) and we all have our favs. My absolute favorite dish is the ground beef & cheese dip. I crave that stuff! One of the best things about Aztecas is that you can order pretty much whatever you want and they will fix it. Want a chicken enchilda with verde sauce? Decent Mexican food. I had a chicken burrito. Could have used a little more spice but the chicken was cooked the way I like it, not chopped up chicken pieces but more like simmered chicken. I had the $2.99 frozen margarita and it was tasty. Rice and beans were very good. Chips and salsa were served first and the salsa has a lot of zing! The interior was very nice and authentic looking. I went here once with a friend and was quite pleased with the food. I have a favorite Mexican restaurant where I live, and this comes in at a very close second. The only thing I don't like is that you have to pay for extra chips and salsa (I think .50 for the chips and .25 for salsa). I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was delicious. read more

Los Aztecas is THE place to go in Mt. P for Mexican food. The wait staff here are beyond great, we come here quite often and we feel like they welcome us like friends each time. All the waiters are funny and they make sure you have everything to make you happy! The daqiuris's are 'ehh' (lots of syrup) and the margaritas are what you pay for, strong and delicious. The queso is AMAZING and the Tostaguac is SUPER! The atmosphere is great as well, the paintings and the chairs and tables are fun. Rice is good, beans are good, meat is cooked to perfection, water is always refilled, restrooms are clean, prices are low and we love it. ARIBA!!! read more

The food is actually pretty good, but the service is awful. I've eaten here 3-4 times in the last four years, and it never gets better. They never refill your drinks. The food presentation was bad; I ordered a lunch special and there was no side dish, no garnish, no nothing. The booth seats are ripped up and need to be repaired. The front cover of the menu includes this friendly gem: "we take no responsibility for lost articles." Seriously? The first thing they want to communicate is their lost-and-found policy? The cashiers will see you lined up to pay your bill and they'll just kind of walk away, with no explanation, and then come back later. They don't ask about your meal. They mumble and don't smile. I think this place has potential but there are a hundred subtle turn-offs that make me think they find customers more of a nuisance than the lifeblood of their business.
