I've been a loyal customer of Avery Brewing for years, but my recent visit with my family, including my newborn baby, left me deeply disappointed. During our meal, I went to change my baby in the women's restroom and found the only changing table in unacceptable condition: it was covered in used wipes, a used diaper, paper towels, and was next to a bucket of cleaning chemicals. Given the state of the facility, I made the decision to change my baby discretely on the ground, on a sanitary pad, near our patio table and behind our stroller. While doing this, the on-duty manager approached and told me I was not allowed to change my newborn baby there. I approached her again after I had finished the task and explained that I had checked the restroom first and even showed her a photo of the unsanitary conditions. She told me she didn't care and that it was the rule, no diaper changes outside, apparently no matter the condition of the provided facilities. She also suggested my husband try the men's room instead, which felt dismissive and unhelpful. What was most upsetting wasn't just the lack of a clean space to care for my child, but the complete lack of understanding or empathy from the manager. Her attitude completely undercut the excellent service we had received from our waiter. He earned the redemptive second star in this review. As a parent and longtime customer, I expect better. We won't be returning, and I hope Avery takes this feedback seriously, maintains cleaner facilities, and trains staff to support families with small children in a more respectful and reasonable way. There are so many high quality breweries in the area to direct business to, we will not customers here any longer. read more

We popped in on a Friday when they first opened for lunch with a party of 20 and they were sooooo kind to accommodate us!!!! Lucky we got there first thing - it gets busy quickly. The service was efficient, everyone got exactly what they ordered and we even received a small sample of a new beer . We usually sit outside, but we ventured inside to escape the fall weather chills. With 20 people, we sampled about everything on the menu from roasted chick peas to fish & chips to salads and brisket. The plates were empty and everyone was happy with their meal. When I travel to other cities on vacation, I like to try new places I have never been and do not typically go anywhere twice. That is unless the place makes such a great impression on me that I go every time I am in the area. Avery Brewing did that to me. I had one of their products back home and I made a note that I would visit it if I made it out to CO. Avery is in Boulder, just a short, beautiful drive from Denver. The staff and even the people visiting are always so friendly and inviting. This past visit, the weather was amazing and the outdoor space outside was where the party was at. We got seated right away. We came right from the airport and were hungry and very thirsty. Water was not going to cut it. I needed some of their delicious brews. Liliko'i Kepolo is the beer that won me over years ago. It is now called Island Rascal. To this day it is one of my favorite beers. I like sour beers so I got all of those along with a few others. What I love about Avery is, the flavors are very true to their descriptions. Alot of breweries try and sell a flavor and it doesn't taste anything like the description. I have yet to try anything I have not liked their. Not only are the beers good, the food is outstanding as well. We've been through alot of the menu and everything we have had has been delicious. The corn bread was thin and dry. Only thing we enjoyed was the brisket nachos. Very tasty. There is a kitchen tip fee and they suggest an additional 18% tip. What for. We order online. We go to the Bar for our drinks. The food was delivered as we ate inside but not one follow up for water or tea refill. The tea was warm. Ice melted immediately. We won't be back. read more

Big fan of Avery after my initial visit. They've got a large grassy (dog friendly) patio with lots of outdoor seating, and some indoor seats if that's what you're into. They have a couple yummy sour beer options, and their veggie tacos had very fresh ingredients with a ton of flavor; I probably wouldn't order them again because I want to try something different, but can recommend. Also had excellent service the whole time, always had water (me and my dog), and never had to wait long for anything despite it being a busy weekend evening. Stopped by here on a rainy Thursday evening for dinner and a beer. It was pretty crowded inside due to the rain, but my husband and I got seated right away. Our server friendly and was quick to get our drink order. I got the Ellie's Brown Ale which was good and smooth. I had it with the cheeseburger and fries. I like how it came as a deal for $17. While this is a brewery, my review is purely for the food experience. At the time, I wasn't really feeling beers but I did notice a great selection and it seemed like all of my friends enjoyed their beers. It's obviously a popular spot to hang out. When we arrived, every single table was taken, there were groups just standing outside with their beers, enjoying the sun and the company. Luckily, we had put our names down earlier through their online waitlist and didn't have to wait long. Each table outside has QR codes and everyone can order on their own instead of as a party. It's linked to the table that you're sitting at so the workers will know where the food goes. Pretty efficient system since you don't have to wait around for your server and you can help yourself to water, utensils, and napkins. Gumbo: I wasn't too impressed by this small side of gumbo. I felt like there weren't enough flavors and the meat was just like dried shredded pieces. The cornbread was really good though. Order that by itself if possible! Fish and Chips: Comes with two large pieces on a bed of fries. We got ketchup, tartar sauce, and malt vinegar on the side. Not bad, but everything was sitting in a pool of either oil or vinegar. Either way, nothing stayed crispy for long. What a fantastic place to hang out when it's nice and warm outside. We came here after hiking in Boulder. Not knowing a thing about the area, we picked Avery because they kept showing up in every Yelp search. As we were driving, we were concerned because it seemed like we were going through an office park, and then BAM Avery Brewing stands out. It was a great choice to stop here. The space itself is INCREDIBLE - the self-guided tour and merch shop alone were beautiful, and the gorgeous patio was perfect for humans and dogs. We sat outside and had prompt service. I'm not a beer person but our server let me try a couple of sours that non-beer drinkers usually like. Weren't for me, but I got a mango seltzer that hit the spot. My partner got a flight and really loved everything he tried. But honestly their drink menu was HUGE - there is absolutely something for everyone. We also had lunch. A cup of pork green chili soup, fish and fries, and veggie tacos. Everything was fireee. After a long hike, it's hard to tell what the body wants, but honestly whether it's the veggies or a fried fish platter, everything was exactly what we needed. Each dish was really well seasoned and sooo much better than normal bar food. Special shout out to the carrot habanero sauce on the veggie tacos - I want to bottle that!! My only little complaint is that there was only 1 seltzer on the menu, but when we went into the merch shop after eating we saw a whole cooler of different seltzer flavors. Arrived with 2 kids and 6 adults. Sitting inside was more than an hour wait so we were provided one outside table, yeah really. They reluctantly provided us with two tables. The only problem was that the server ignored one of the tables resulting in a very delayed food service to the second table. One table received their food almost before the second tables order was taken. The first table had to ask them to take the order. The ambiance was extremely hot with no relief for the summer sun. The shades at the tables did not adjust for the sun angle. The nachos were well put together balanced more towards spicy. We had to go to the waiter station to pick up our own silverware. The beer was excellent, just had to try and keep it out of the sun, if you liked it cool. When asked about size of salads, she demonstrated the small nacho serving plate. I turned out it was at least three times as large. A Buddha bowl was the other salad ordered and was not asked what dressing they wanted, honey fennel was on it which was not preferred. My chicken Sammy was cold the cheese was barely melted. The bun was very mediocre and not worth consuming. The coleslaw was lightly sauced and did not taste much different than cabbage. I did not attempt the commercial provided bag of chips. We were asked how it was, one replied OK, the others replied mediocre. Probably not a good idea to go back to the wait station shaking your head saying something disrespectful about the customers. Maybe an apology for poor service to customers would have been a better use of her time. Ms. D you can do better than this! read more

For beers, I had: -- Barrel-Aged Mephistopheles - 10/10 - Amazing, super rich -- Pump[KY]n 2015 - 8/10 - A nice fall treat -- Night Warden - 8/10 - Solid, lighter bodied stout with a sweet bourbon finish -- Out of Mind - 7/10 - Built on the hoppy and barley forward Out of Bounds Stout, but brewed with African coffee. -- Mary Ann's Pie - 3/10 - I appreciate the effort, definitely creative, but couldn't finish it. What a happy atmosphere we walked into! The staff was super kind despite working under the blazing sun outside and were extremely attentive. Big plus that they are very dog friendly. I felt like I was at a dog convention! Our food was not only super delicious, but the plating was so beautiful I almost felt like it was untouchable, haha. I tasted my fiancé's tacos and it was super flavorful! Needless to say he gobbled the rest of it fairly quickly. (I'm guessing it was to deter me from stealing more bites) My rascal salad was just as flavorful and I highly recommend adding the smoked salmon because they were plentiful with the quantity and it meshes really well with the ingredients. Second of all, I had to write a review because honestly their brisket nachos are one of my favorite things to eat period. The combination of the tangy beans, incredibly tender and tasty brisket along with the pickled Jalapenos...... they are a reason to go to Avery in and of itself, and then you get great strong unique beers.... This is a review of the brewery tour. We were told to refer to the beer guide as Joey "Hot Sauce", so I will refer to him as such under my own discretion. This was by far one of the best beer tours that I have ever received. This brewery tour was a journey that embarked on being casually informative backed by unrelenting enthusiasm. Joey is a very relatable guy that you can easily mistake as your best beer friend since he is a quick-witted connoisseur who makes any Q&A session enjoyable. This facility is neat, organized, and even contains a fermentation lab tucked away upstairs to tease onlookers that whoever is in there has a much better job than you might. Fun visit in the Boulder area. There are tons of beer tasting options and a decent food menu which accommodates many dietary types. In addition to beer you could opt to try two hard seltzer flavors, root beer, or Boylen sodas. We had the soft pretzel which was amazing along with garlic fries. We also ordered some chips, queso, salsa, and guacamole. Everything was delicious. The staff was nice and helpful with many suggestions. And as a bonus our food and drinks arrived swiftly. There is a cool gift store with different themed items. Also you can walk above the production floor and watch beer being brewed. Reverend (deep & rich) & anything coffee infused. We always start w. the giant pretzel w. cheese & the spicy mustard &/or the smoked wings. My go to entrees are the the Ahi salad or Buddha bowl. The small size is large enough for me. The veggie tacos (lots of good veggie variety) w. chicken added or the brisket plate are also go tos. I like a leaner brisket & this doesn't disappoint. Love the fennel slaw & beans as sides. My hubby likes the chicken Sammie & fish & chips none are greasy. Fries are nice & garlicky so everyone has to have some. When they offer the ramen w. brisket GeT It! Lots of seating I think more so outside. Leashed, behaved dogs are welcome outside. Plus is dog park nearby to tire out the pup before we go. Just one word- Wow! Now I've been to breweries around the country, and I was very impressed with Avery! They have one of the best combinations of great beer, huge location, and a great tourist draw. I can really only compare this with other large brewers in the area like Left Hand or Blue Moon, but this place blows them both out of the water! They have a downright huge building, with lots of outdoor spaces and tables. Large grain silos set the mood for beer, and the decor is perfectly themed. Staff is nice and helpful. Inside is a bit complicated with all the offerings. Downstairs is food and seating, and head upstairs for to go and more bar space. They have an impressive amount of glassware too! I had the Barrel Aged Raspberry Stout to go. Love the gold foil. Great taste of chocolate and fruit. Tastes like a real dessert! I'll be back soon for more! read more

Beer: just about everything we tried was amazing. We went on August 28th, and they had Oktoberfest on tap. It was smooth and refreshing! I love fruity beers, and tried the island rascal and electric sunshine.They were both so fruity and refreshing. We bought 6packs of each of those to take home. Food: I was so so surprised by how good the food was!! Usually brewery food isn't that good, but everything we got was very tasty. We shared the chips with salsa, guacamole, and queso. The salsa and guacamole were great! The salsa had a little bit of heat which I loved. Then I had the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and very crispy! I loved it. My husband got the rib plate. He said the ribs and sides were very good. Overall, it's our favorite brewery that we have been to so far in Colorado. read more

Maybe, we went on an off day but the atmosphere did not have the best energy. There are a ton of beers on tap, which is neat. However, the bartender was really weird about letting me try a beer before I committed to it. Most breweries, do not care and actually help you decide what to order based on your preferences. I ended up going with the Ellie's Brown Ale. It's a beer I knew and typically enjoy at home out of a can. However, I was surprised that off the tap... it tasted flat and eh. Again, maybe we went on an off day. Just have to be honest with our experience. Note: You need to make a reservation if you want a table, or else you will have to wait for 40 or so minutes. read more
