I came in around 6 and there was a wait which I was fine with because it's usually pretty busy , I did end up waiting 25 mins but I was fine with that. But after getting my nails done here I am embarrassed to show my nails , he burnt around my cuticles with the drill but didn't bother to trim my cuticles.. he didn't bring the acrylic on the side of my nails so now they look grown out already after 2 days and I can tell they will pop off in about a week. Since he didn't bring the acrylic around my whole nail you can still see my real nail and he painted over that and on my skin and didn't fix it :/ looks like a kid tried to paint my nails. I went in today to get a full set, came out totally disappointed. Few of the nails are crooked, they're too long for me to function, she did not trim my cuticles and did not put the acrylic on my entire nail, it's just a botched job overall. Definitely doesn't look like a fresh set. The lady asked me what shape I wanted, apparently they charge extra depending on the shape now. The entire process took almost an hour. I read another review on a fb page which said they charge $35 for coffin nails, I was just charged $40. The review was recent so now I'm sitting here wondering how the price got raised so fast or they just overcharged me. One thing's for sure, I will never go back!! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. My nails have never looked this bad. They are not the same size... the color is off. It's supposed to be ombré but it looks like a French manicure gone wrong. I have acrylic residue on my cuticles and my hand as you can see. I went back to get it fixed and did they did the Same exact thing. I tried to tell the man that did my nails that I didn't want ombré anymore because I felt like it was too difficult so I asked for regular color... but he insisted he could do it. I'm upset. The cuticle area was not filed down, so it was a huge lump. The entire acrylic was bumpy. Nail Polish Gel wasn't covering the entire mail. He completely rushed. It was supposed to be coffin shaped. I usually don't like trying new nail shops since I have a place I love to go to, but this day I had to since I was visiting my family and my sister recommended them. I forgot the lady's name who did my nails, but she was very chill to talk to. 1 hour just flew by. She was great at fulfilling my little requests - said I have wide nails and asked her to make my nails look skinnier, when I saw some nails crooked I asked her to fix it real quick (no attitude). However. My few concerns. 1. when i got to the table, a lot of dust from previous customers nails - really gross because the nail tech used her nail filer to "sweep" it to the side...then would use the same nail filer on me. made me wonder if their tools were even clean... 2. Their dip powder color selection was not great. It took me a while to decide which color, because I hated all the colors. However the nail tech found a brand new color they haven't used yet, which I liked then later learned to love. 3. I know dip powder should be thicker on your nails, but it was way thicker than I hoped for. 4. I had to pay an extra $5 to have my previous nails taken off - which I never ever had to pay anywhere else. PLUS, I had to pay another extra $5 for my ballerina shape because it takes more effort to do (?) (I've never been to any other nail shop that charged for shape). read more

I initially got a mani pedi done on Valentine day. This was a new experence for me. It was not a bad day at all. I then just had to maintain them. So I had them filled and the shellac reapplied every month for 2 months. Still, no problems. The last time I had them filled and shellac applied again was about a week and a half ago. The shellac is continuously peeling off. I went back in to have it fixed. The lady was VERY rude. She was stern, grabby, didn't aply the polish evenly and did a good job of making me feel very unwelcome. I complain to the owner she removed the paint and redid it. Then sent me on my way. 4 days latter the shellac had peeled off three more of my fingers. So I had to go back in again to have them fixed. Once again I was treated horribly. My hands were being grabbed and slapped around and the lady was speaking to me as if to shame me for what I have done and not knowing the name of the person who did my nails. But the truth was, she was the one to do my nails 2 weeks ago. She refused to believe me. I stayed quite, let her finish slapping my hands and venting at me, then left. 19 hours later the shellac has come off my thumb and my pointer finger. But this time I happen to notice the first coats of shellac is not dry! I will not be going back to this place to have them yell at me again. I have never had this problem before and I have NEVER had my anxiety triggered while I am supposed to be having a relaxing experience. When I checked out I asked if I could not pay for the eyebrows because I did not like them. She refused reimbursement and told me she could fix my eyebrows. How do you fix an eyebrow that you waxed hair from? Did she have a special concoction to make the hair grow back? So I told her no. Reimburse me. I asked her if I could speak to someone else. The other lady took some money off of my bill, but then they sat there and talked shit about me and my friend while we were getting our nails done and when I complained about my eyebrows. I have been going to Avalon Nails for about 6 months now. I love that they are open until 9pm as I get off work at 6pm and everywhere closes early. I was going to a Salon in Edmonds for 10 years but it did not work with my work schedule. Sometimes I go to Avalon on my lunch break because I have an hour and they are right next to my work. Today I decided to do that as well. I have seen so many bad reviews for this salon and it makes me sad. I do understand what some say about the cleanliness as I have been going there for 6 months. But today I was in there and it was so clean. You know how you tell? The lines connected to the light fixtures! It was so clean. I have had many ladies do my nails there and they all did a great job, but JASMINE is AMAZING! So Amazing. I love how my hands feels. I also had my eyebrows done today. They look great. This weekend I was in Des Moines and took my family to get their nails done. I was going to get mine done but decided to wait. I am so glad that I did. To start off, it is $30 for a NEW full set being that they're $25 like everywhere else. I wanted a simple coffin shape and they charge $5 more!!! I got them average length, not too short but definitely not long and got charged ANOTHER $5!! That puts us at $40. Not only did the shape not come out right, the acrylic was bumpy, and the nail polish was ugly. I told them before I left and they said it was cause it just happens like that instead of fixing it. To top it off one of my Nails popped off already, and I haven't even had them on a week yet. The worst spent $40 EVER, would've probably looked better if I did them myself. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I went there with a friend of mine for my birthday and they charged seventy dollars for a full set and a fill, The guy who was doing my nails was told multiple times by multiple people that I had a crooked nail. My daughter and I have been coming here for the last seven years. After getting a new owner Annie who has been doing my daughters nails started consistently taking my daughter later and later than what her scheduled appointment time was and I let her know after a while that this was unacceptable. It went from a few minutes to a half hour or more. I called today to get my daughter in me was told Annie was no longer willing to schedule her for appointments because I made her uncomfortable. She would only take her as a walk in. So instead of doing better and not double booking she decided that my daughter after all these years just isn't worth her time. I was seated immediately with a middle aged men, as I sat down I was asked what type of nails I wanted and shape. I choose to do full set, white tips. When he glued the white tips on my nails my hand were on the towel after cutting the tips to desired size he removed the towel and under the towel I saw nail dust and acrylic residue left on the table, he did not clean the table and kept working on my nails, the tools he used were very dusty and worn out, he worked on my nails very fast that the acrylic was all over my cuticles and when filing he made multiple cuts into my cuticles trying to remove the extra acrylic. I have asked multiple times to fix it and he got very frustrated and when he finished my nails, they looked like pancakes with acyclic on my nails and over on my cuticle area, very flat and had absolutely no shape and when the manager came she blamed my nail plate and said your nail is flat, I said I have been doing my nails for a very long time and they never looked like this, the men who did my nails got so angry he yelled and said I will take them off for you quickly grabbed nail clipper and began to click them off with force. I said your hurting me and he kept clicking them off. After they sat me in another chair and sat down another young client in my previous seat immediately, the man who worked on my nails yelled and said he doesn't want to see me there again and another nail technician had me soak my nails in acetone for nearly 20 minutes as she was filing them and also cutting into my cuticles trying to remove the acrylic nails. I came home with acrylic still left on my nails and very swollen cuticles with cuts. Very unhappy with my visit and worried that the tools they used might give me infection. I have been going to this place for many and had a great experience. Moon was Amazing. since they opened back after the COVId closer now I have to have diffrent persons , my experience became bad. the helpers neither they don't know what they are doing or they do it differently depending on the customer they are serving. I started the service with manicure and in the middle of it, I was asked to move to the pedicure place so that the customer who next to me who was getting help from the receptionist can get help. This never happened to me before . It would be nice even if this is a normal process , they should explain what the purpose was. Then, lady who did the signature pedicure either she doesn't know or took advantage on me thinking I don't know what services are included in this signature pedicure. She did so many short cuts and just Did not even a regular pedicure one can get. She used the hot stones, wax, scrub ... but bulrushes me off through the process just to say it it was done. I was so frustrated but back in my head promised to myself I will not go back to this place I stayed as patient and smiling I could. The lady who finished my acrylic... the although I told her I want round and very short, I ended up with long and pointy nails. By this time, I was done and wanted to cry but again, stayed patient and quiet. She can tell herself she did not do a good job because she kept trying to fix some of the nails and did not work. Went here yesterday. Had my gel manicure removed and I asked the lady to just clean, shaped it, and that's it. She did a terrible job getting the nail polish off my nails. She scrubbed the hell out of my nails leaving it with scratches!!! Then I requested for a squoval shaped nails. She didn't do it. My nails are not of the same size at all. Ridiculous!!! She left my nails undone. I asked her why are there still white cuticles under each nail. That was the only time she cleaned it. I will never go back to this place again. Avalon used to be my favorite place to get my nails done, because the open floor plan worked well for me and my mom who are sensitive to chemical smells. I always thought they did great work, although it was a bit more pricey than other places. To me, it was worth it. These past couple years have been a dumpster fire. I noticed that almost overnight they had a complete employee turn over, although the first couple visits weren't monumentally bad in itself. The service did seem to dip a little but it wasn't horrible. Then, I decided to take my girlfriend to get her nails done (she is a transgender woman, so some may identify her as a boy although she does not identify that way). For her, it's actually more comfortable to spend a half hour getting referred to as a boy than having to explain everything which can be risky. There was an older gentleman sitting next to us getting a pedicure, who mentioned how gay it was my girlfriend was getting her nails painted a colour. We uncomfortably chuckled along like "aha... yeahh" because I knew confrontation was the last thing that my girlfriend would want. The man then proceeded to say that what my girlfriends was doing was for "f*gs". We were mortified as the nail techs laughed along and even called to their coworkers to come over and laugh as well. I am so shocked that we didn't just jump up and leave right then and there. We will never be returning. read more
