In long 5 months ago, my lovely bride had a major stroke and still doesn't have full strength back in her left arm. She really loves getting her nails done as part of her usual routine, and looked long and hard to find her favorite regular place. That old favorite place of hers is always really busy, and, unfortunately, were not very patient with her needing someone to come with her and hold her left hand in place for the tech. So she got a rec from a dear friend, and gave Queen a shot. They're amazing. They were so kind and patient right from the first time she rolled in, and made her feel completely welcome. She had an easy time finding colors she liked, and no problem discussing different styles. She was super pleased to find out at the end that they cost about 40% less than her previous spot, too. Yesterday she went in for an overdue nail job, and the tech not only greeted her warmly but had clearly noticed that she hadn't been in, and asked all about how she was doing. This was only her 3rd visit, and she felt like a regular they really loved having come in. They have about half a dozen mani stations, half a dozen pedi stations, and a waxing room in the back. It's not the biggest operation, nor the most luxurious, but the quality of the work is there, and the feeling of community is wonderful. And there's killer Mexican food right next door, too.

However, partway through my shellac manicure, she was sent to do a pedicure for another customer. Another woman, who seemed to be the owner, stepped in with no introduction or explanation and just continued the service. I had asked for an almond-square shape, but she did a square shape instead, which wasn't what I wanted. I decided to let that go at the time. Unfortunately, the shellac started chipping just two days later, and another nail chipped on day 7. Normally, my shellac lasts over two weeks without issue, so I was really disappointed in the quality. Overall, I appreciated the convenience and the quick seating, but the communication, attention to detail, and durability of the manicure fell short.

The lady who did my nails was friendly but It took 4 hours to do this set of nails and a pedicure.. They started lifting the next day and breaking off the day after that. These pics were taken 2 days after I got them done. I'm a stay at home mom so my nails usually last at the very least 2 weeks. These are the ugliest nails I've ever had but after taking up half of my day I was ready to just get out of there. The nail polish is super thick in certain places and this was supposed to be cat eye polish which I paid extra for. They also charged 15 dollars to do my cuticles and as you can see my cuticles are not done. This was a very expensive lesson.

There was a candy bowl out indicating a family friendly salon for those who like or need to bring their children with them. Walk-ins are welcome and I was seated right away without a wait. I was offered and accepted a complimentary bottle of water to sip on while enjoying my pedicure. A 10% discount is given on services on ones' birthday. I chose the Serenity Spa Manicure for $35 and the Signature Pedicure for $40. Service was performed by one technician which allowed me to read my book in peace without constantly being interrupted. Overall, I'm glad that I stopped into Tommy's. I was happy with the service as well as the prices.

The woman came out, was gruff and rushed as she asked what I wanted. She waved the menu at me and tapped on it like I was taking too long. The place was basically empty inside, so I'm not sure why she had this attitude. She warmed up a bit as she did my nails, but I could see she was rushing the paint job. I tipped her well because she seemed to be making an effort. I examined her work before I left, but I couldn't see very well from the chair. When I got home, I could see the sloppy and uneven coats of polish . The filing was crooked as well. I will not be going back. The vibe was depressing and the quality was poor.
