A few years ago, I found a nail shop that I was really excited about, but then found out during my first appointment that they were soon closing. The technician I was seeing asked where I lived, and promptly gave me a card of another technician at the shop, starting her own studio, that would be the closest option to me. Obviously at that point, Crystal had not yet set up her shop, so I went along using sub-par nail shops and kind of forgot about it for a while. It wasn't until I was wanting nail extensions that I remembered The Glitterbox, and did a quick search. I set up an appointment to finally visit Crystal over a year later. During my first appointment, she convinced me to not to do extensions. She ensured me that the gel she uses would allow my chronically short nails to grow. Her suggestion also saved me about 30 bucks in the process. Sweet! I learned immediately that Crystal approaches her work carefully--hygiene and cleanliness is a big deal to her and I really appreciate that. She is also gentle with your nails--I'm used to women hacking away with my nails, cuticles, and hands and expecting some sort of pain every visit. I experience the least amount of pain visiting Crystal and that's worth it's weight in gold to me. Lastly and most importantly, she does a beautiful job! I am constantly getting compliments on my nails since visiting her, both on the look and the length! Yes, she was correct about the length. My nails grew so quickly, and even got a little *too* long for me! I'm amazed at how long her 30-day manicure lasts. No chipping or noticeable lifting, no breaks in my nails. I knew I liked Crystal and the way she did things, but it wasn't until I visited another shop when I couldn't get an appointment right before a wedding, that I truly understood how rare she is. The shop I visited used the same gel she does, and was fine...but it was nowhere near the same experience. It didn't feel as clean, I felt my technician was rushing to get me through, she cut back my cuticles (big no-no for me...not to mention illegal) and was really rough with my nails in general. Additionally, the gel was not as thin, there were a couple bumps, and some ended up on my hands that I did not notice until I left. It was then that I decided if I was going to have gel on my nails, there was only one person I was going to go to: Crystal. Appointments are only available Monday-Friday until 5pm which makes it a little difficult for those who work--I have friends who would really like to try her out but just can't make it to Everett during that time of the day. For me, it's worth taking the time off work and driving a little north to get the best experience I've had for my nails!! read more

I am so happy I found Crystal! She is everything you'll ever want in a nail tech! I initially came here because of all the good reviews and also the fact that she uses Akzents gel. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. When I first arrived to the location, the immediate thought that came to my mind was how small and filled the parking lot is. She shares the parking lot with approximately 4 other business and it is tight in there. Also, it is best to park by the left hand side building. The building on the right has some ...interesting ...owners, so watch out. Make sure you arrive a few minutes early to get that all situated. When I looked for studio, I found it with a white door that says "the Glitterbox" on it. This door is not locked, contrary to what I initially thought. It is just needs a little push to open! :-) Inside was SO CUTE. It is her own little studio that is decorated quite nicely. Crystal is the only one who works in this studio since it is owned by her. You get a very personalized service and it shows! She takes much pride in her work, since she is independent. I used to work in a salon in the area that offered the same gel nail services and omg there is definitely a difference in what you get with having someone who actually cares and represents themselves. Never have I ever been cancelled on or had a half-ass job. That's a big thing. She also has online booking, and her own work cell phone (if you have any questions or concerns) which is super convenient!! There're also appointment reminders! :) As far as her services go, she mainly does liquid hard gel nails. She charges $60 for a basic gel polish hard gel fill which is a great price because that includes tip too! I haven't personally gotten any fancy designs or embellishments on my nails, but I've seen pictures and they look great! She has allllllllll the fun nail stuff and she is very knowledgeable and skilled. She keeps updated with all the newest nail techniques. All I have ever had was great service. I NEVER get shellac or gel manicures. Every where I have ever gone to get gel manicures, they're chipped or peeled off within three days. After trying probably five different places and ALWAYS leaving unsatisfied, I finally gave up on gel. Well fast forward and I had a special occasion that I wanted to try shellac again. I did my research this time and came across Crystal and The Glitterbox. The manicure was awesome and the studio is adorable. Crystal is super friendly and it was like chatting with an old friend the whole time. After the manicure was over, I spent probably three days searching for a flaw (I love picking at things so if there is anything on my cuticles or any rough spots I will find it and I will pick at it!). I. Found. Nothing. Nothing! No flaws! They are perfect! I am writing this 4 weeks and 3 days after I got them done and they are still flawless (except for the grow out). Go to Crystal.
