I went in on Tuesday for a pedicure and gel manicure. This was my first time visiting the salon and things genuinely went fine. However, during the pedicure, the nail tech doing my nails dug so hard at the sides of my big toes that it hurt. It was over quick enough and my toes looked nice, but by the next morning, both of my big toes were swollen, red, and painful. I visited urgent care and was found to have a bacterial infection as a result of my pedicure and now need to do a course of antibiotics. I will not be returning and I urge caution in booking a pedicure at this salon. read more

I stopped in to Hi Tek Nails on a Saturday early afternoon because the gel manicure that I had done in TX a week ago was flaking and chipped all the way off on several of my nails which was super annoying. I don't know who my technician at Hi Tek was because he didn't introduce himself just pointed at the chair and told me to sit. The entire process of my deluxe gel manicure was efficient and fast. If it had been any other day the quickness would've irked my nerves but since I was in a hurry I didn't mind it except that when cleaning up my cuticles I felt he was rushed and it scared me because the technician is using a sharp tool to snip at my skin which also wasn't gentle and it hurt. Usually I'll go to salons with no acrylics because the strong smells affect my allergies and asthma but going in wearing a mask and way earlier in the day when it's not busy helped a lot ! The only thing I really wished was that the technician would've been less rushed and more gentle with the cuticle trimming and also when it was time for the paraffin hand dipping portion that he would've actually tried moving/spreading the paraffin on the tops of my hands because that would've helped soften my skin rather than just letting it sit at the palms of my hands, and also letting me wash my hands once he finished filing and buffing my nails before painting would've been nice too instead he just used a little brush to brush my nails but I still had nail dust all over my hands, lol. I know a female technician would've recognized and did these differently, lol. Overall, for the value and quickness of getting in I thought it was a good gel manicure WAY better than what I received in Texas and better priced too. I received quite a few, but when I looked up Hi-Tek nails, the photos of the shapes and designs caught my eye. So, I took a leap of faith and made an appointment with Hannah. I want to point out, that Hannah addressed me by my name when she brought me back to the pedicure seat. I love that she looked at her appointment sheet and took the time to learn my name and address me as so. Very professional and personal. She did such an amazing job! I got a pedicure here on a Sunday morning with my mom and we weren't very impressed. We paid extra for the deluxe pedicure and there was nothing deluxe about it. The lady did a good job when it came to painting my toenails, but everything else was unimpressive. She looked at both my heels and decided to herself they didn't need the scrubby sponge that exfoliates your skin which seemed very lazy to me. I got the dip Powder which I prefer with a square round tip. The color is super neutral like I prefer to have and you could tell she actually liked her job and took her time on my nails. First, without asking, he replaced my daughter's nails and charged me for a full set instead of the fix and fill on new nails, not cutting them as short as we had asked him too. Then, he had the lack of tact to ask me to pay cash instead of debit after pointing and seeing cash in my purse....then, within 1 day...her nails started bursting nail polish from them, as if he had formed liquid bubbles in her nails. I went back in, and he refused a refund and tried to argue that he could do better. I showed my nail tech what I wanted, she said okay (never mention the price) half way In they told me their would be an up charge for the nails because they are long, making them $70 then right before my nails were done they up charged me another $5 for a dot on my nail, said it was a hard design. I hate leaving bad reviews but this experience I definitely have to.. the Pedicure was rushed (she literally had her 30 minute timer on) but kept getting up.. she was watching tv while she was doing my pedicure so hardly paying attention. The whole thing was careless and rushed, I was in and out while people who were there before me were still getting massaged. They all kind of looked at me shocked when I got upthat I was done already. I have NEVER been able to walk in to a nail salon with a design I found on Pinterest and have a nail tech who was able to give me the design until now! Not only do my nails look amazing but when she removed the old nails I had on, she was very careful and did it gradually instead of chipping them off like many places do removing half of my natural nail with it.. She took her time and protected my natural nail and that was very much appreciated. We drove up from South Everett and will happily do this every this every time since we receive such good service here! Since I've been on one foot for 10 weeks I've been dying for a pedicure. I was definitely nervous about not being able to communicate well enough to someone that there is hardware in my foot and I need them to be gentle. My Auntie and my girls all got pedicures while I was at an appt and we're ready to leave by the time I got done...so I was kind of bummed. I really wanted to try and get one so I asked one of the girls working there what she thought. The girl assured me she would be careful so I took my walking boot off and let her do her magic. I appreciated how mindful she was being, and she even commented that she wouldn't have really noticed my scars had I not said something, so I'm glad I did. I went with the classic pedicure (there are several different ones to choose from) just because I didn't want to mess with my poor foot too much after its gone untouched for so long. The chairs are nice big massage chairs, and other than my foot being ultra tickle sensitive (since it hasn't been touched) it was very relaxing. There were 4 others getting pedicures, and the ladies (and one gentleman) working were very friendly. It is a little off putting when they speak in their native tongue so much....but it's also rude when customers sit on their phones so much... so hard to complain. Sylvia suggested polishing my toes before doing the massage and lotions so that I would have longer for them to dry....which was a great idea. I was able to sit extra long without being rushed, and really let my toes dry before having to get my boot back on (and it worked because my toes never smudged). Loved the color, not the best polish job I've ever had...but she put a little flower over top and they look good. I was in a time crunch and found this nail salon on yelp. i called first to make sure they were open, and could do an american manicure. i had a hair appointment shorty after for a formal event. they said they could get me right in. they were pretty quick, but that is where the praise stops. after the two initial women confirmed i wanted an american manicure, and had me sit, another woman came over and asked, "you want clear?" ..... i confirmed again, "american manicure." apparently she had never heard of it, because she started to paint my entire nail white. now, i've been to nail salons all over the united states since my husband is in the navy and we move somewhat frequently, and i have never had anyone not know what an american manicure was. another technician came over and told her "just the tip!" and she removed it. what i ended up with was a sloppy french manicure. after they mixed some bottles for the white color of the tip, and finished with a clear coat (instead of the normal translucent red). i was really bummed because i knew they didn't have the correct polishes to correct it, and i didn't have the time to start over. not only that, but i CALLED first, and they said they could do it, so they should have known. and the kicker, as i was sitting under the uv light drying, i looked next to me to see a huge poster of what else .... an american manicure. besides the fact they didn't know what they were doing, there was also a woman "marrying" econo size bottles of different brands of polishes and pouring them into smaller bottles, right at the nail station next to me. so i do not trust that the products in the bottles are actually what they say on the label, either. not a nail salon i'd ever revisit. read more

I have used this salon several times, both for just manicures and also for mani/pedi combos. I always get gel french manicures and regular pedicures with regular polish. I have never had a gel manicure last longer than several days from this salon, which is about 2 weeks less than pretty much any other place where I have gotten gel manicures. Additionally, they do not do a very good job of cleaning up the nails. The cuticles aren't completely cleaned off which causes the gel to peel up very soon after the manicure. I've returned several times to give them a chance to prove me wrong, maybe with different employees, but each time it's been a different technician and each time it is still the same issue.
