Truly a hidden gem! II got to try some of the freshly baked biscuits right out of the oven. They reminded me of a (much better) vegan version of a Hot Pocket, as they were savory and had some filling. I also had a cup of coffee, which was made with oat milk and agave. The biscuits were delicious, and the coffee was so good. The best part of the visit was that I got to meet Ava herself, and she shared some insight about the history of her business. They have been open since 2020, selling freshly baked goods, and they also do custom orders for items such as cakes. Ava also shared that she provides the pizza mix for Flavors Vegan Pizzeria. Ava's Lifeline is literally a life line for me!!!!! I am gluten intolerant and I am a vegan!!!!! I have not tried any of the sweet offerings yet but I will 100% but I did order a gluten free loaf of bread. Ava was so helpful, she is super nice and friendly and professional and she explained the ingredients to me and how to order and when to pick up etc. I just picked up my loaf and have had a slice just with a simple spread of vegan butter.....OMG!!!!!!! It is DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!! The loaf is enormous and I can slice it and freeze it and it will go a very long way...........now the test is not to eat it all now. It is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!! This place is so great! Ava is very kind and has amazing customer service. The strawberry shortcake cupcake was amazing in terms of flavor and was incredibly moist. My only complaint was that the frosting was melted but it tasted so good I didn't really care. I also had the coffee cake and I wish it had a bit more cinnamon flavor. Stopped by this cute spot . The owner was the sweetest and most encouraging woman I ever met . With this pandemic people are cold but she's so warm . The place is super cute and small and I love that . We got the apple loaf , lemon loaf , red velvet cupcake , the crumb cake . My favorite was def the apple loaf I absolutely loved it it was moist and not too sweet . Just a really beautiful taste . What I love is that she incorporates really cool ingredients like beets to get that natural coloring on the red velvet or using tumeric in the lemon loaf to get that nice color . The turmeric multigrain bread is no joke. We literally just got home with our first ever loaf like... fifteen minutes ago? and my partner and I have already eaten half a loaf! And it's a biiiig loaf! Makes incredible avocado toast. I would highly recommend not bringing a loaf home if you live alone unless your self control is next level. Best shared with friends for your own good. We also got the chocolate chip cookie and the lemon loaf which were so delicious. The shop itself is kind of sparse, unassuming, but don't let that fool you- everything is divine. I found out about this establishment by going to another black owned business that let me know who makes there bread and I went on a scavenger hunt to locate the creator of this bread. Upon entering the establishment your invites in with the beautiful yellow and gold accent walls that instantly pull you in. Right in the heart of bed- stuy which I love because this in t my community. The owner Ava was so insightful, kind, helpful and pleasant to speak with! She educated me on the different variations of breads to choose from as well Ingredients & as how to ensure optimal freshness of the bread. I will be eating my rolls in the morning and for dinner. I love that she has created breads for vegans, vegetarians, and people who are alkaline!
