Knowing some Jamaican culture, Caribbean Rastafarians have a long and rich tradition of plant based eating. With that said , my guess was right about this place. The owner is a great conversationalist and he educated me on his ingredients and method. Although "veganism" may have been highlighted by millennial white folks sounding more like a fad, Rastafarians have practiced this way of eating for nearly a century (correct if I'm wrong). Standing true to the vegan spirit, their juices are potent, and the soups are amazing. All I had was one empanada and a soup (not to mention a "mellow mood") and I was alert , energized and satiated for the next 4-5 hours.
