Tucker is a very high energy dog, and no matter how many walks/runs/days sprinting circles in our yard he experiences, he still wants more. We wanted to find a place that would mentally and physically engage Tucker without leaving him feeling anxious or overwhelmed. Dog School Austin has done that and more! He loves springing up the front stairs and waiting patiently at the gate. His tail doesn't stop wagging, and he's happy and relaxed when we pick him up. The only thing that would improve our experience would be if a few pictures of Tucker appeared on Dog School's facebook page. I know, I'm totally "that" person who likes to see pictures of my dogs online. Whatevs, haters can hate. We love Dog School Austin!

Super thorough and we felt really cared for and listened to. We needed a session asap, and as Rachel was all booked up for the week, we made an appointment for their other trainer Trish to come by for our hour-long training session at our apartment. (My evaluation was on a Saturday afternoon, and Trish was at our apartment on Monday--talk about a quick turnaround.) Trish was super friendly and got right down to business and asked us what we needed help with. Our big thing was crate training for our puppy, and so she helped us teach him how to start loving the big, scary thing. I couldn't believe how fast he was learning with her, and it was so fun to see him enjoying himself doing things I though it would take him forever to do. We went over a bunch more, and Trish even stayed a few minutes late to be sure all of my questions were answered. We talked about crate training, biting our hands while we played, safe ways to play tug, leash walking, how to help our pup not freak out when we leave the apartment--so much for just an hour! She even left us with a whole page of handwritten instructions for what we had learned. Overall, I was just so happy with everyone at Dog School. Super attentive, really responsive when setting up and appointment, etc., amazing with my dog, and overall they just really seemed to love what they do. Not to mention their training sessions are really reasonably priced. I am so glad we made an appointment, and I'm definitely going to schedule another in a few weeks for some more tips.

For those who want a more in-depth perspective, here it is. This all started out with our 3 month old Golden Retriever needing for someone to come home at lunch, feed him, walk him and let him out to go to the bathroom. We tried a few different services but Carissa was "the one." We could feel the love she had for our baby and when I came home to see him after work he acted like he had the best day ever and it was a total secret. She cares. She gets to know your dog's needs, allergies, medications, preferences, commands, dislikes etc. She knows that not each dog is different and she's not just there to walk your dog but make sure he knows he has a midday friend. I love that after each session she sends me a detailed text of their time together including photos and videos! I live to get those updates. Tater is now 8 months old and doesn't need to be fed at lunch but we still have Carissa come once a week to be his "Fairy Godmother" and take him on a walk, play with him inside and outside, give him belly rubs and refill his water. It's just so worth it to know how loved and cared for he is when my husband and I can't be around. You know, like when I go out of town. After having preyed on the kindness of friends and family alike for years, I finally decided it was time to find a pet sitter. While I was hesitant about just picking somebody out from a list (after thorough website and photo scrutiny, of course), I thought, "Well, it can't hurt to just meet them face to face and see what the kitties think." And I was amazed. My two boys are pretty nervous around most people - one much more than the other (to date, he hadn't willingly let anyone else but me pet him). As soon as Raynor walked in the door, they both sort of scooted out of the room - but after her being there for less than 20 minutes, they were practically eating out of her hand! She has a genuine passion for animals, and it shows. I left my kitties in her care while I was gone for a 5-day weekend, and I returned to find them with little kitty smiles on their faces. Raynor had left a detailed diary of her comings and goings, and evidently, they just loved her. Even my nervous one let her pet him! Having her come by to feed, pet, and play with my kitties while I was gone gave me a peace of mind that - as the previous reviewer wrote - was priceless. We hit it off immediately, no need for any other interviews. I like the forms she offers and the information she asks for. This greenbelt is a good way to get north/south in west Austin. It's a decent path for bicyclists,…read morebut it's kinda narrow. The path meanders around as it follows the creek, which can cause some blind corners, and close situations. Dogs are welcome here, no leash needed, so it's a good idea to slow down through here, so you don't run over Fido. Some areas on the path require that you dismount, or do some wicked awesome biking skills to rock hop across the creek. Careful- the creek bed is slippery. There aren't any restrooms along here, as far as I know of. It is nice that you can get across Austin this way without encountering any major roads, and have a dedicated path to get you to West Campus from areas to the south. If you're crafty, you can connect this to the Pfluger Bridge to get from South Austin to the Capitol quickly!
