In both instances our dog was injured because a staff member ignored him while he was in their kennel. He heard me at the door and got excited. Like all dogs. But instead of trying to get him calmed down or out of the kennel all together. Instead he's now getting about a dozen stitches. The owner wasn't there at the time. She called and told me that they should have him come in any more. IN OTHER WORDS...ITS THE DOGS FAULT! Are you kidding me. DO NOT bring your pet to Train My Dogs! Period RESPONSE TO OWNER WOW! So if I understand what you're trying to say, this is our fault for continuing to bring him there. If he did pass your "test" you should have said so day one. Don't try and excuse your mistakes by saying you took Walle in in spite of risks. That's not only one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, but it clearly shows you wont claim ANY RESPONSIBILITY for the fact that your staff knew of the risk and ignored it. Stop trying to make yourself feel better at our expense.

They have four different modules that the pets cycle through--school, outdoor playtime, pool/water fun, and naptime. They pair dogs by personality/temperament and size. The people who work at this business actually REALLY do love dogs. They understand them, they like them, they treat them like individuals by helping them where they're at and what they need to work on. We have been super impressed with this place. I love the fact that we get dog obedience with dog play time all in the same day. Our puppy comes home super happy and exhausted! We've tried most of the dog day care locations in and around the downtown Austin area and we are most happy with this place. They are super accommodating for their clients, they have really well-trained staff and they really do what they say they're going to do with your dog.

There was a car parked in what looked like the alley to the vet's back lot. But I thought ooh I bet these two lots connect. They do not. And they are on a busy section of Lamar so trying to make a left and try again would be a 10 minute proposition, assuming one could even turn left and not be T-boned. I tried the door of Southpaws, hoping to walk in and explain my situation. Locked doors but the lights were on. Luckily, their phone number is painted on the front of the building. I called and explained my situation to a very nice person who said it was fine as their daycare drop off was at 9 AM. So thank you to Southpaws Play School for giving a stranger a break!

He is literally one of the most kind people I have ever met. I remember when we first moved to Austin and needed to find a babysitter for our Saint Bernard and us being so nervous to leave him for a few days with someone we had just met once. But fast forward to 8 years later and I would trust David with my life. Our dog's get excited when we pull up to his house and the tails don't stop wagging. Both our boys give him kisses as soon as they see him and you can just tell they feel safe, loved and take care of when they are with him. I can't possibly say enough good things about David!

My dog Toby is a very....special dog, and by "special" I mean unusually particular (will only drink…read morewater if the bowl is outside, etc.) and has a bunch of daily medications for glaucoma in his remaining eye. He will also cry/howl/make pig-like grunting noises non-stop if put in a crate or kennel - he's a free range Toby. So when my parents wanted to fly us out to California for the holidays, we knew finding someone to take care of Toby was going to be a feat in and of itself. Fortunately, I stumbled across 'Runs with Dogs' in the depths of the internet, on a random thread. The owner of Runs With Dogs, David Lee, is awesome. He will come to your house or you can drop your dog off at his house, but I recommend his house because he's got a NICE set up - puppy paradise - large backyard, tons of toys, and even a couch for the pups to sleep on. He also walks the dogs every day, sometimes twice a day - huge bonus for Toby. David is reasonably priced ($25/day for boarding and $10/day for each additional dog - so a really good deal for multi-dog families) and will treat your dog as well as his own. He did a great job ensuring Toby got all of his meds, so I highly recommend him if you have a "high maintenance/special needs" dog. Finally, David is hilarious, so that's always fun. ....I hope I didn't just blow the lid on Austin's best kept puppy boarding secret.

I was happy to hear that the play groups are sorted by dog size and temperament to ensure that everyone would get along. The staff is so warm and friendly. You can tell they are dog people! I knew my boys were in good hands and it took a lot of stress of my mind while on vacation. I LOVE getting to see all of the pictures that they post daily on Facebook. Seriously they're so cute and funny - you can see the dogs personalities in the pics and to me that means they are comfortable and happy. Transparency was a big element for me to try this place out for the first time. They have published policies on their website about what they will do if your dog were to get hurt on accident and I really appreciated that. There is really nothing negative that I have found about this place! I recommend bringing your furry children there.

Beware, your dog will be in a crate the majority of the day…read more I took my dog here for an eval day, followed by one day of daycare. While the staff was very nice, I will not be returning based on how long they keep dogs in crates throughout the day. (I skimmed reviews ahead of time but didn't see any mention of this so I feel compelled to let others know). My dog was at daycare for almost 6 hours and I did not see him anywhere on the cameras during that time. (He is friendly and gets along with all dogs so should not have been secluded). When asking the staff how much playtime he had, they could not tell me and they estimated he was probably outside two hours total (and that maybe I just didn't see him on camera). That means the other four hours he was in a crate. This is not the norm for most daycares, as my dog has been to three other ones before and all of them allowed dogs outside of the crate at all times except for an hour mid-day around lunch for quiet time/napping. Another staff member told me the dogs have two 30-45 min breaks before and after noon naptime. So you mean to tell me if I drop by dog off at 7 AM and pick him up around 7 PM he's only being allowed outside his crate for two to three of the twelve hours? Absolutely not. Additionally, upon daycare pickup I was told because he's a pitbull mix that he classifies as a short-nosed dog and they sometimes limit playtime for dogs like that because they don't want them to overheat. This is insane to me and was not discussed ahead of time or during the eval. My dog has a ton of energy and is not prone to overheating and loves to play for hours. Lastly, the pickup and dropoff times were unacceptable. Waiting 10+ minutes with one person working the desk is unheard of. I've never been to a daycare that only allows one owner/dog inside at a time. Not even a vet's office does that! Clearly they need more staff members.

This isn't just a "brush-and-bathe" situation; this is a doggy spa experience that makes my dog look like he's ready for his own runway show. Seriously, he's strutting around now like he's got an endorsement deal with a fancy dog food brand. Oliver walked in looking like a scruffy little mop, and 2 hours later, he emerged looking like he'd been personally styled by a celebrity groomer. I'm pretty sure if he could speak, he'd be telling me how perfect he feels. His coat is so shiny, I'm half expecting him to start catching the sunlight like a diamond. The staff is beyond friendly, and they treated Oliver like the precious floof he is. It's not every day you find a groomer who knows how to make a dog look like a million bucks without charging you an arm and a leg. Honestly, I think I might be jealous of how good he looks now. If you're looking for a place where your dog can get pampered and actually enjoy the experience, Taurus Dog Daycare is your spot. I love that they started him with a smaller group play for a couple of days and then slowly increased how many dogs he was around. The staff is exceptional and provided him and his brother with so much attention, love and care. My dogs are literally pulling me to get inside JGO's every time I come here. Our rescue pup typically gets anxious at most boarding places, but this is one of the few boarding places where he hasn't come home with anxiety induced GI issues. We actually started going here prior to the rebranding and the quality is still top notch even if we are paying a little bit more. I was unsatisfied with the information my current vet clinic had given me so it was my first time dealing with City Vet when it came to dealing with this surgery. The staff from front to back is so friendly and truly treated my Rufus like a familiar life-long friend. They had funny and cute things to share about what my Rufus did after surgery and made the process (for me) essentially painless. My sweet Chloe crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday after a long health journey. During the nearly 7 months that she was under their care, this team provided not only excellent medical care but also extraordinary compassion. When Chloe first arrived, she was facing a serious health crisis. Dr. VanDyke gave us options, guidance, and hope when we needed it most. Because of the care she received, I was blessed with precious additional time with my heart pup. Throughout Chloe's journey, everyone at the clinic treated her with kindness, patience, and genuine love. They also showed incredible understanding toward an anxious and overwhelmed dog mom who was trying to do everything possible for her beloved dog kid. What I will remember most is Chloe's final visit. Despite never being a fan of veterinary offices, she was calm and at peace. The entire team made one of the hardest days of my life more bearable through their compassion and support. Dr. VanDyke, despite recovering from her own foot surgery, sat on the floor beside me and gave me a long hug as I said goodbye to Chloe. That moment meant more than I can ever express. I will always be grateful to this team for helping Chloe live with dignity, comfort, and quality of life, and for helping her leave this world surrounded by love.
