My husband and I took our dog Pepper to Lara's Canine Solutions after several failed training attempts. We did the month long training program, which sounds like a lot of money and time spent away from pup, but it was totally worth it. Pepper's behavior when we saw here again was unrecognizable. It was like she was a totally different dog. During her month stay we had training session at 2 weeks with Lara who explained to us in detail how to continue the on-leash training portion at home. At the end of the month we had another training session with Lara at which point she explained to us how to continue the off-leash training portion at home. She demonstrated the skills we needed to continue, and let my husband and I practice in front of her so she could help us understand what to do.
A word about Lara and her staff. My first meeting with Lara was for Pepper's initial evaluation, and this was what really sold me on using LCS for Pepper's training. Lara is knowledgeable, straightforward, and shows how dedicated she is to making sure your relationship with your dog is strengthened through training. At each training session she was patient and answered all of our questions. She was also flexible when we asked if she could modify the last training session so that my elderly mother-in-law could also join. If I could give Lara 5/5 stars I would! Her staff was always very responsive and helpful whenever I called to check on Pepper (yes I was that crazy dog mom). I always received a little "report" on how pepper was doing.
We also received a discount because Pepper is a rescue. Which is always a plus :)!
I am so happy we ended up choosing LCS for Pepper. It's been over a month since we brought pepper back home and she is still so well behaved and remembers what she learned at LCS. Pepper and LCS have done their part, now it is up to my family to keep up with the hard work they have done.
