My little baby just got her second round of shots this week! Walk-in clinic, the people working in it are animal lovers, and it's CLEAN. Cats and dogs are welcome, and they do a good job of separating them if they can. I'll be coming back in 4 weeks to get her final round and her rabies shot. If you're looking for quick, clean, and affordable. Here you go :)

If you've been needing a more convenient, affordable clinic to visit with your pets I highly recommend coming here. I brought my three fur babies to get their rabies vaccinations, and walked in around 11:40 a.m. I was able to be seen and have my three pets cared for within an hour, which is incredible! They are a walk-in only clinic and don't accept appointments, but I wouldn't let that discourage you from coming here. Unlike some clinics like Emancipet, you won't be having to wait around for long hours due to a large amount of people waiting ahead of you. They only perform preventative care and administer vaccinations, but that's really all my fur babies need! They do a wellness exam before moving forward with administering services, which I greatly appreciated. While we were here all three of my pets got their rabies vaccinations, and one of them got a nail trim. In all, my visit was $90, which is much less than what I usually expect to pay at private vet clinics for taking just one of my pets for the same services. The staff here clearly also loves animals, and they're passionate about providing the care your pet deserves to live happy and healthy.

This veterinarian are carrying a flea medication call Bravecto that caused a horrible reaction to my dog and killed her. They didn't informed me of the possible side effects and after reading thousands of reviews and how many animals have died, I can't belief that they are still carrying it. Not only that, but her responses was that it was the first time she heard about this medication of being unsafe. Becareful of what they prescribe for your pets. Read all the side effects

What a great little vet clinic for wellness checks and vaccinations! We love our regular vet, but who wants to pay almost $100 (if not more) every 4 weeks for puppy shots and wellness meds!? This sure beats waiting in long lines in an HEB parking lot, too! I walked in today (Saturday) and was out in less than 20 minutes. Our puppy got a check by Dr. Hilla, first vaccine, two rounds of deworming (one they give for you to give 2 weeks later), and started on heartworm prevention all for $40! That's unbelievably awesome. I highly recommend you go here for simple vaccination and wellness prevention needs!

Vaccine day!

Excellent Vet service and my "scary cat" dog became calm with the gentle and kind treatment provided by professional staff! I am very appreciative and thankful! Will come again. Highly recommend them.

I had a great first time experience…read more I spoke to Alexis on the phone a couple times and she was really fast, efficient, and friendly. Connor, the vet tech, followed suit, and was really great. What really stood out is that we got in quickly and we were given a balanced approach to treatment. Dr. Rob walked me through his treatment rationale. We had a real discussion about the best course of treatment instead of the typical take-it-or-leave-it approach you get at most facilities. It's hard to find vets who collaborate with you as a member of the treatment team instead of copy-pasting a protocol and sending you on your way. The pricing was fair as well. I really appreciated the care and attention we got. Been to a lot of vets, this one stood out.

He charged me $45 for flushing my dogs ears?? $45 for a unnecessary swap when it was clear my dog had a ear infection and when on and on of why the greasy stuff he put in my dogs ear was best. I wanted a prescription that works best for my dog and he wouldn't have it. He even said that Chewis are sailing fake medication so I can get the stuff he sales. After having to listen to his insatiable craving for money sales pitch I decided to get what he said and paid $250 for a visit. Well the stuff he put on my dog make her soo itchy she rub her poor ear to be black on dirt and base on what he said i don't suppose wash this???? Next day her ears so black and red I had to show him that what he put in her was making her worse and he said he didn't know she would've be doing and that sh needed to take responsibility for this rather than accepting his ineptitude. Continue stating that he didn't know she will be rubbing herself on the floor. She is a lab and labs do that all the time rubbing her bodies in the floor specially if her ears hurt and the fact Robert continues to say that ?? It really strikes me how much he plays stupid to excuse himself when the whole world know labs do that all the time. I asking to clean my dogs ears or the crap he put in her ears as they were black in dirt and he said he will do that for free???? But I would have to pay for the medication that I ask him for in the first place. He tried to scold me a few time telling that I have an attitude and to not interrupt him but I was done with his useless information and behavior. I will never come back to this ravenous place that all they want is to make money and being condescending thinking they know better rather than being humanly caring. He was dismissive try to tell me to look for other place and stop him letting him that i would've ever considered coming back to this unprofessional disrespectful place. BE AWARE!!! See pictures of the lousy jobs done after cleaning dogs ears

Then, she passed while the doctor and I talked about her life and how wonderful she was. It was the hardest day of my life, but the easiest day of my sweet baby Gracie's. It was worth every penny. I have never seen such a peaceful ending. There are not words big enough to communicate my gratitude. The end of her life was so sacred, which is more than most of us people get. My usual vet, who we have been seeing since adopting the cat almost 2 years ago, rudely dismissed my concerns over the phone and insisted that I needed to pay an $80 office visit fee just to get an answer to my question over the phone (the question was "What does the PCR panel test for?"). I started calling every other vet in Austin to find a clinic that has experience with Tritrichomonas and that I felt comfortable with. Several clinics admitted that they did not know what the parasite was or had never treated it before. Another lied and said "oh, that is super easy to treat and really common and straightforward!" which I knew was not accurate from the empirical literature online. I finally found Austin Urban Vet and the experience we have had so far has genuinely been night and day different from pervious clinics. From the very first call, the AUV team was empathetic to our situation, VERY transparent about pricing (they provided it in writing), and explicitly clear about which PCR diagnostic panel they use at AUV and exactly what it tests for. They were open and honest about their experience with Tritrichomonas and I immediately felt at ease and confident in the care that they could provide my cat. After chatting with my partner about my findings from calling almost every vet in Austin, we both agreed Austin Urban Vet was the best one to move forward with, so we made an appointment. Right off the bat, I was happy to find that AUV has a private parking lot (for free!). I headed inside with my cat and the team at the front desk was so kind and helpful. They quickly checked me in and invited me to grab a bottle of water or make myself a cup of coffee as I waited for the tech to take us into the room. We waited for maybe ~5 minutes before the tech took us to the exam room, where she scanned my cat for her microchip, weighed her, and asked questions about the presenting problem, history, etc. Dr. Helen was who attended us for the exam itself, and she was so kind and thorough. I really felt that she was providing genuine feedback, and she was honest about her experience with this parasite. She was transparent about the treatment plan and let me know her general thoughts (Ie., "If she is still positive, we will do X. If she is negative, we can try Y.") We are now waiting for the PCR results, but so far, I am so happy with our experience and feel confident that Dr. Helen will provide us with the best care possible.
