3/5/24 Charlie had a dental and a small mass removed at same time by his lovely DVM Dr Bailey King. He's doing well post op at home with his cat siblings. Dr King explains, and listens. She is perfect for me and Charlie. All staff are knowledgeable and efficient as well as personable, professional. They take time on the phone and in person to answer questions. Jennifer was Charlie's caring tech today. I trust her caring skills with fear triggered Charlie. All the the vet techs he has had are compassionate, knowledgeable and caring. I am OBSESSED with Love Pet and will never take any of my dogs anywhere else. We have been going there for well over a decade, but we got to know the staff very well because of our rescue dog Walter, who was in bad shape when we got him. He had multiple surgeries, a full course of heartworm treatment, and several other issues that required extensive medical care. He was in their office pretty frequently for months, with some overnight stays involved as well. Walter ADORES going to the vet, and I know it's because of all the amazing love and care he gets whenever he is there. He is like Norm from Cheers -- every time we walk in, everyone is like "Walter!!" It makes him so happy and it honestly melts my heart. Everyone at Love Pet is AMAZING, but special shoutouts to Dr. Davenport, Dr. Jones, Dr. Wizbrock, Andrea, and Robin. They have all done special things for our dogs that were way above and beyond the call of duty. Like, WAY above! One other thing I just have to mention. When our other elderly dog June took a sudden and unexpected turn in the early morning hours, the emergency vet had a 5+ hour wait. Although Love Pet didn't have any appointments that day, Robin called us immediately when they had a cancellation later that morning. Unfortunately we ended up having to put her down that same day. They were so caring -- my partner had taken her in to be seen, and they waited for me until I could get there to say goodbye and we could both be there with her during her final moments. Even the vet tech who was with us shed a few tears. I just can't express how much everyone here really really really loves animals. I just wanted to say that these guys are still amazing, I continue to take Peppah here for her tune ups and while she isn't 100% she's amazing considering she couldn't walk months ago. Our poor Hannah Bear passed away earlier this year as well, I was actually on my way to the vet to see if it was her time and she expired in the car. Needless to say it was very traumatic for me and I was a mess when I finally made it there. The vet and a few techs ran out (masks on) to double check the inevitable and stayed with me for a little to comfort me. I will be a customer for as long as I have fur babies. I didn't find Love Pet Hospital until October 2021; I was referred by a friend when we were talking about if there are any vets who do homeopathic care. After spending thousands on tests for my ill cat, my original vet wanted to do "exploratory surgery" - so I have a cat who is throwing up daily and they want to "explore" in his abdomen & still couldn't guarantee a diagnosis. Once we started seeing Dr. Wisbrock at Love Pet, my cat seemed happier. Every time we went there, Romeo would rub on Dr. Wisbrock as soon as he walked in the room (Romeo never did that with any other vet). Dr. Wisbrock recommended laser accupuncture as an alternative, so we did that weekly & Romeo seemed to have improvement the 1st few days after treatment (charges were reasonable). One time Dr. Wisbrock gave Romeo a shot which made him jerk - Dr. Wisbrock actually held Romeo for a few minutes to make sure than any pain he felt was not intentional - I have never seen another vet do that (usually the vet gives the shot & immediately walks out of the room leaving the tech to finish up). Dr. Wisbrock always took the time to ensure I understood what he was recommending and answered any questions/concerns I had; I never felt rushed during our visits no matter how long the visit took. I will mention that this practice is smaller, so if you make a new patient appt., you will likely have to wait for 4-6 weeks. However, once you are established, they will do their best to get you in when you have an emergency. I was called a couple of times to move my appt. by 15-30 mins. so they could fit in an emergency. In addition, Romeo vomited blood over Thanksgiving weekend and when I called on Monday, they got us in the same day (note that I had to leave a message when I called, but they called me back appx. 1 hour later & had already spoken with the Dr. & had a time for us to come in). From what I noticed with Romeo's care, Love Pet is much more geared towards taking care of animals than how much they can charge (the latter of which has been my experience with the other vets we've been to). Sadly, I think Romeo was too far gone by the time we got him to Dr. Wisbrock & he went to the Rainbow Bridge on Christmas Eve '21. Dr Wisbrock called me later that day (mind you this was Christmas Eve) to find out what happened. I really appreciate his call; I also appreciated the sympathy card signed by all the staff. I would definitely recommend this practice, and will be taking my other cats to him as our primary vet. read more

I took my cat here unexpectedly on a Saturday morning. I had low hopes that they would be able to accommodate me last minute and on a weekend but they made it happen. They are aware that vet visits are often unexpected and result in unanticipated costs so they provide suggestions for care and more importantly, they provided options which I really appreciated. They were very transparent about pricing and we're very compassionate with my kitty, who is very anxious. The exam room we were in was mine to stay for the entirety of the visit even though they were taking my cat in and out of the room for different tests and X-rays. I didn't have to go back and wait in the lobby while they meter other people through. Idk - I thought that was a small and simple gesture that makes you feel comfortable in a time of uncertainty. The doctor was very informative (Dr Jones) and educational. She took me through everything and answered all my questions (even the silly ones). After adopting a new puppy from the shelter, I read reviews of several close-by veterinarians to get her started with. I ultimately decided to choose Love Pet, based on their willingness and reputation of doing more holistic type treatments when possible. I like that. Our first appointment was with Dr. Huckabee. The office itself is very clean and comfortable and is designed with one door and office for entering and a different door and office for exiting. This is very smart as it reduces the number of dogs in one confined space. Also, it gets you in and out faster as there is one receptionist just focused on checkins and another that's just handling checkouts (meds and payments). Both Dr. Huckabee and her assistant were very warm and friendly and took their time answering my many questions about our giant puppy. They even helped guess at her breed (their hunch is a Pyrenees and American Bulldog mix). They did not appear in a hurry nor give me short answers as some doctors do. They were so relaxed and friendly that my nervous dog eventually flopped down in a relaxed rest on the floor. I was sent home with some probiotics to sprinkle on her food for her soft stool and heart worm medication. I've taken my elderly cat to Love Pet Hospital several times. I've had wonderful experiences with Drs. Jordan and Davenport. With Covid restrictions in place, you text when you arrive and a vet tech comes to your car to pick up your pet. After examination, the vet calls you to discuss. The calls from both of these vets were detailed, thorough and not rushed in any way. So the care is great but they are extremely busy and you may have to wait days for an appointment for an urgent matter. My issue is that the front desk is understaffed resulting in delays. I've waited in the parking lot for 25 min after texting for someone to respond (and it's usually after a second text that the response happens). My most recent experience was when it became obvious overnight that our cat needed to be euthanized to eliminate her suffering. I called during business hours, got an answering machine saying they would return my call so I left a message saying we needed euthanasia. No one called back and it's been over a week. (We ended up going to an emergency vet as they don't require appointments.) I called Love to express my concern that no one had returned my call and received a very sympathetic apology. So all vets are busy these days but this practice needs more help at the front desk so clients are not left wondering about whether the text or phone message has been received. read more

I love these people. I have 8 dogs, some with special needs, and they take such amazing care of all of them. This week my 12-year old dog, who can be reactive with strangers, needed to have a huge mass removed from her face. It had grown very rapidly to where it was overgrowing her eye. I was really anxious about having to leave here there because she has a bite history, and I was just as anxious that she might lose the eye when they removed the mass. She did amazing. She had already met Dr. Wisbrock the previous week and took right to him and he had no problem at all handling her (but was still respectful of her bite history and didn't let anyone get careless). He even had the office take the time to call me mid-morning to let me know what a good girl she was being because he knew I was worried.He did a great job with the surgery and figured out a way to remove the mass while still leaving enough skin for her to have a functional eyelid. She will have a big Y shaped scar, but she has her eye. I am so grateful for the time and care he and his staff took to make Morgan feel comfortable and safe, and to help me not worry. I have worked with several of the vets here and they have all been amazing. 3 of my senior dogs get regular chiropractic done and it helps them retain their mobility without pain. Some years back I adopted a senior chihuahua who was diagnosed with tracheal collapse not long after I got him. Several vets told me he needed a tracheotomy, but Love treated him with acupuncture and Chinese herbs and he lived a healthy, happy life for 4 more years. This is a long post and I'm not sorry about it. Our girl was worth it. It's been the hardest 2 weeks since we took our sweet girl, Beau-pup, to Love Pet Hospital. She'd been diagnosed with a nasal carcinoma four months ago and we knew it was only a matter of time before we had to make the terrible decision to let her go. As she was nearly 12 years old, we chose not to subject her to painful chemo/radiation. We found a great vet in Atlanta and we changed her to a high protein, grain free, partial raw diet complete with hemp oil and Probiotics. It worked for a bit. She was her old, active self. But then the nose bleeds came back, the lethargy set in, and we knew we were approaching the end. However, we were in the middle of moving across country back to Austin and just wanted to get her home so she could pass away in her (and our) favorite city. We got back to Austin and she seemed happier, hungrier, highly energetic, and more alert. She was our Little Beau Pup again! I made an appointment with Love Pet Hospital for 2 weeks later for a basic checkup and to establish her as a new patient. The receptionist was so nice and welcomed us to Austin with the warmest voice and most helpful info. Everything was great. And then it wasn't. 3 days before our appointment, Beau began suffering from partial blindness, inability to hold her urine, muscle paralysis in her hind legs, and the most intense nosebleeds we had ever seen. She was miserable and wouldn't eat anything except small pieces of banana which I had to hand feed her and small sips of water from a spoon if I held it. We agonized over it, and hoped she would perk up even a little bit. But she didn't. She wasn't living, she was just existing. She deserved better. The day before her appointment, my husband gave her a bath, which she loves (it's their daddy/dog time) and we spent the day loving on her and coming to grips with what we had to do. The next morning, the day of her appt, I called Love to change the nature of her visit from checkup to euthanasia. They were so incredibly kind and patient while I cried through our phone call. When we arrived, they immediately took us to a room and gently explained the procedure. They gave us as much time as we needed. Dr. Sheridan and staff (sorry I can't remember everyone's name) never made us feel rushed and they were super sweet to Beau. When it came time for the injections, Dr Sheridan told us what each would do, what we'd see, and allowed us to comfort Beau, and each other. I'm sure we were standing in her way and probably blocking her view, but she never let on. Pure kindness. When it was over and Beau was gone, they allowed us to spend as much time with her saying goodbye as we needed. When we finally walked out of the room, the receptionist stood to give me a big hug. All , and I mean ALL of the staff came to give their condolences. It felt like family and this was only our first visit! Last week, we went to pick up her cremated remains and found that they'd had a plaster imprint made of Beau's paws and etched her name into it. This isn't something we requested or paid for. They also included a card signed by the entire staff. I don't know if these things are standard, but they sure made us feel cared for. Both my husband and I have had multiple hospital stays, and we've never received the type of care that our Beau received from Love. They didn't just provide her care, they actually CARED. For that, they deserve 20 stars, but I guess I'll have to settle for 5. We always tried to do the right thing for Beau. By taking her to Love, we know we did just that. When/if we decide to get another dog, there is no question that we'll be going to Love Pet Hospital. We can't thank them enough. read more

My dog Toby is almost 12 years and has a heart condition, seizure disorder and arthritis. His arthritis causes his hind legs to slide out from under him on my wood floors. Dr. Davenport came highly recommended to treat Toby with Acupuncture and Chiropractic. I have been taking him here since last November. It was initially every week for a month, then every other week, and now we are at once per month unless he looks like he needs it. Some of you are probably wondering about Acupuncture, and for a dog! Well let me tell you, after assessing him, how he is standing, applying pressure points and adjustment, they lay him down and place needles in the places that showed up on the assessment. He has to lay still for 20 minutes, which can be a challenge. A vet tech stays in the room and rubs his neck and calms him during that time. The needles don't seem to phase him and he rather enjoys his little massage while he waits. I could see the difference in his stature almost instantly. I even say them treat a hot spot on his leg with the needles and it improved dramatically in a week. We have mostly seen Dr. Davenport, but have also seen Dr. Love. They are both excellent, but I prefer Dr. Davenport. She appears to be more down to earth and seems to have connected with Toby and know how to set me at ease. Dr. Love is also nice, and if you are more Eastern Philosophy or Metaphysical in your philosophy, you all should get along great. You are probably wondering about cost. If you go in for just an adjustment or just acupuncture, the cost is $65. If you do both together, it is $85. I remember one week, they said he did not need an adjustment and only charged me the $65, so they are not in it for your wallet, but to treat the dog. And while it may be a bit pricey, I have seen dramatic improvements in Toby. I also notice now, toward the end of the month before his next appointment, he slides a bit more. That is generally an indicator it is time to go back. I have not used them as a general vet, as my dogs already see Dr. Simmons at Burnet Road Animal Hospital and Toby also sees cardiologist Charla Jones and we are happy with our service there. I will say, that based on the treatment Toby receives, I would recommend them for Acupuncture or Chiropractic no matter where in Austin you live. And if you are in South Austin, you may want to consider them as a general vet if you are in the market. read more

I usually don't post a bad review but after visiting this business the last time. I left disgusted and angry! My dog was having a skin problem and the vet prescribed an anti fungal and some wipes. After 2 weeks, my dog did not get any better. I returned and the vet quoted $300 for a skin test, and recommended some "other" alternatives that were even more expensive. I ended up going to Manchaca village vet. OMG after the reasonably priced skin test $90, the result was as expected and I picked up some shampoo and a prescription was called in. My dog is on the mend, and I am so glad I decided to change vets!!! read more

My husband and I are very upset and disappointed with the service and the staff here. We heard very good reviews about this vet hospital but after today we are in shock at how we were treated. First of all, the receptionist did not enter in the computer system that my 6 month old kitten already had her rabies vaccine! It was right there in her file folder, and you can actually feel it in her thin folder because it's a protruding medal tag! So today, mistakenly, they gave my kitten another rabies vaccine! I understand people make mistakes but to NOT notice or have felt in the folder, a metal rabies tag is just unbelievable! How could she not see it (actually on both my kittens she forgot to enter their rabies vaccine!) My husband actually asked her twice if she entered all their file information a week ago, and she said she did. We are wondering as to why it wasn't entered? Sure people make mistakes but to say aloud to him that she entered it is a lie. Then as I'm in the room with my cat getting her exam, the office manager, Robin, at the end of the exam gives me a strange look and says to me - embarassing me in front of Dr. Vance - she says while looking angry at me that the other girl (the vet tech) told her I was upset with her. I was not upset with her at all. That is another lie! I simply said to her that I'm not sure why the rabies tag information was not entered in the system. I was trying to make a good first impression, I was not in anyway upset with her and it was my first visit to their office. I may have had a bit of an unhappy look on my face about the situation with the receptionist, but that's all. The vet tech was obviously too sensitive. And Robin's comment towards me sounded so callous! Her tone and the way she said it was just awful! She gave me a horrible dirty look and made me feel very uncomfortable. And she realized she upset me with her comment because she very quickly left the room after that and I could tell Dr. Vance looked uncomfortable with the comment. Actually Dr. Vance was very very nice to me and she was very professional. I was very impressed with Dr. Vance. And thank goodness we found out there are no side effects from our 6 month old kitten having a second rabies vaccine - well let's hope not! We will be monitoring her very closely! Shame on the clued out receptionist! Also Robin has the worst attitude I have ever seen in a person. She was so disrespectful towards me and I don't even know her - first time meeting her. Love Pet Hospital may be on the small side but every single member of the staff I encountered was incredibly friendly and patient with my rambunctious large dogs! They all gave them tons of treats (every person asked permission, don't worry) to make them happy and comfortable. They explained everything to the best of their knowledge and referred me to websites where I could do my own research as well. I did decide to opt out of some vaccine booster recommendations just because I felt my dogs have sufficient immunity due to past encounters. I had Dr Vance and she was so friendly and patient. And the vet tech I had (so sorry I forgot your name, you were awesome!) literally sat on the floor to slather love on my dogs and distract them while Dr Vance did the check ups. My 70lb dog was literally so comfortable he was laying in her lap, belly up to receive pets. The whole team was fantastic and accommodating! I could not be happier. The only thing I encountered that was anything less than amazing was that I was told bordatella was about $18 each and it ended up being $30 each. Not a super big deal since I had to get it done either way, but it was definitely a bit of a surprise at checkout. If you are reading reviews to get an idea of prices and costs, I'll include what I encountered! The vet visit was $50 each, rabies were $23 each, and bordatella was $30 each. They also mentioned heartworm tests were $50. Obviously call for pricing accurate to you but this is a general idea :-) The pricing is reasonable but I will say at low cost vets (like Thrive) it's only $10-$15 for rabies or other vaccines usually, so there's that to think about if you are just going here for vaccines. We very much appreciate the holistic approach that Dr Huckabee takes and she has helped a ton with one of our pups' allergies. She's also a very kind and warm spirited doctor. We have been taking our 9 pets (4 dogs, 3 cats and 2 rats) to Love Pet Hospital for the last 3 years. They have a great holistic approach to vet care. Their prices are reasonable. The office staff is really nice and always caring. Sometimes, their schedule gets a little wonky and it takes a little longer than expected, but we have patience because they are always willing to take the time to answer all of our questions. Really you can't ask for a better locally owned pet hospital. They also don't try to up-sell you to other services that aren't really necessary. I decided twice now to try and use this local vet clinic. Called twice 6 months apart (in case the first time was a fluke) but no. Each time the lady who answered the phone was rude and short. Not helpful and short with me. Again, I decided to go elsewhere. Ironically, I have a friend who uses this clinic and so I went with him one time. We waited in waiting room for about 30 minutes. The front desk staff was unfriendly and rude to about everyone who came in for their appointments. One guy came in with a big dog who was missing a back leg and the other back leg was in a giant cast. The owner had a towel wrapped around his waist. Helping his dog walk because he couldn't do it by himself. The front desk lady chastised him for not having the poor crippled dog on a leash. In my opinion, every experience from the phone call to check out should be exceptional. I'm not sure how this place is so busy. My friend says the techs and vets are awesome but honestly I can't get past the front desk. I will be seeking my vet services elsewhere. read more

Before last Friday, I would have also rated Love Pet Hospital with 5 stars based on previous experience with Dr. Love and the staff. Several years ago they saved one of my cats from going into renal failure. Very caring, very compassionate. However, my experience at the reception desk last Friday has soured me. I walked in with my 19 year old cat in my arms, obviously in very bad shape. I was sobbing and explaining that I only had $10 in my account but wanted to save my cat. I was ready to charge my credit card but couldn't spend hundreds of dollars as I had previously with the other cat they saved. The receptionist asked if I had an appointment. No. She would have to see if all the vets were at lunch or not. Honestly, I was kind of surprised by that, because I would expect someone to be available in case of emergencies. There was apparently one vet in the office (I don't know which), and the tech came out and informed me that my cat was dehydrated. I was told that the vet had stated my cat would have to get the full workup (blood, x-rays, etc) before knowing how to proceed. I asked if the vet could just please take a look at the cat. I could afford that much. The receptionist just smiled and said no that it wouldn't tell the vet anything at all. I was then given a number for a clinic on 35 that might pro-rate the cost of an exam. Holding my dying cat in my arms and sobbing, I managed a thank you before I left. The receoptionist seemed to be absolutely dismissing me. She was all smiles, but I left feeling like I didn't matter and neither did my cat. After fighting traffic on 35 and waiting at the other clinic for almost 2 hours, a vet looked at my cat and just sent the message that he was dying and that at 19 he really wasn't a candidate for treatment. The tech was extremely caring and rubbed my arm and told me how sorry she was and that my cat was obviously well-loved and taken care of. Why couldn't I have gotten the same from Love Pet Hospital? Why couldn't a vet have just looked at my cat, taken the payment for an exam and leveled with me? Why did I have to force my dying cat to endure I35 traffic and hours in a waiting room with barking dogs just to be told what I could have been told at Love Pet Hospital? I hesitate to blame a particular vet, because I didn't speak with one, and all my previous experiences here were extremely positive---like so many other reviewers. But, I can say for sure that the treatment I received at the receptionist's desk has pretty much convinced me not to go back. read more

Although I no longer take my dog here, I do long for the days when I was closer. Love Hospital has my heart. You might say, I love Love. My dog is a grade A asshole when he goes to the vet. I honestly get embarrassed to take him in and often put off the visit until it's impossible to wait any longer. He yaps, snaps, and loses control if anyone pays extra attention to him. He once pooped all over the checkup room. Yep, he's the worst. But, Love makes visits easy. You can tell their staff is trained and experienced. It's refreshing to not feel guilty when your dog gets so stressed out. I miss you Love Pet Hospital, I really do. read more

Unfortunately, I had to visit Love Pet Hospital for the first time this morning; but, I could not be more happy with my experience. I slept on the couch Monday night with the back door open because my dog kept waking me up to go out. I should have known something was wrong then. I did not realize my dog had bloody exploding diarrhea until she vomited up what smelt like poop with blood in it late last night. I have already spent over 6,000.00 in emergency vet care for another dog who passed away shortly after. So, I decided to wait it out and go to the closest vet first thing in the morning. I stayed up with my pup all night checking her vitals and arrived on the door step of Love Pet at 7AM - they took her in immediately! My dog is a mixed breed that looks like a Pit Bull and the first thing most vets asks is if she bites. The vet here just oohed and awed over how pretty my pup is asked "what's wrong honey?" I suspected an intestinal blockage so they whisked her away for x-rays. Sure enough she has an intestinal block that they could have talked me into a 2,000.00 + surgery for. Instead they said that it would most likely pass and sent me home and told me to stay with her for the next 24 hours and constantly check her gums for signs of dehydration. I left happy with the care my dog got and will bring her back whenever she needs vet care. read more

The experience: got us an appointment for the same week, nice and clean facility, a bit of a wait in the room, with a tv playing a fish tank scene. Dr. Huckabee was very nice, and gentle at handling scared, wiggly cats. In case you are shopping around for a price comparison, here is a detail of our bill. Fees for annual shots: Annual office visit, $48 Rabies shot, $22 FVRCP (3yr) shot, $17.60 Fecal direct and flotation (vet required this!!), $40 =$127.60 per cat Plus one was sick with bloody diarrhea :( so additional fees: Antibiotic injection, $53.31 Probiotic powder, $30 So for two cats, $338.51. That about knocked my socks off, as it's much higher than what I paid in Chicago, but if it meant my kitties' shots were up to date and the sickness beat, I'd still be pleased. However, the shot did not have any effect, and the probiotic powder is so unappetizing to the cats, it has gone to waste. (I can figure out how to feed pills or liquid, but powder?!! yikes!) The visit was so expensive, I was hesitant to go back for a follow-up, and took my cat elsewhere. No bad feelings, just too pricy to not get my kitty healthy. read more

I recently moved to the Austin area and this vet was recommended to me by an acquaintance who also feeds raw. I was thoroughly unimpressed. Staff was very blunt and to the point. I was being rushed to finish my paperwork and there was no emphasis on patient care. The doctor we saw was Dr. Huckabee. Again, very to the point. Didn't inform me of anything other than "mild tartar buildup on teeth". I had to ask for his current weight, and the doctor seemed annoyed that I was asking any questions. She fed my dog a biscuit (not grain free and had food dye, think milk bone type) even though she knew I raw feed and I even offered some of the treats I brought with me and she gave him the biscuit anyways. For an annual visit with vaccines, it was less than 20 minutes. If you don't care about how the staff treats you and your animals then this animal hospital will probably work for you. For someone like me, who just left a vet that would spend plenty of time building a positive relationship with the animals before beginning an examination, educate the pet owner during the whole process, and would answer any and all questions, this experience was very cold and clinical. Having recently moved to Austin, we were in need of a new vet for our pets. On a recommendation we went to Love Pet Hospital this morning. Upon arriving at the office we were greeted by a rather rude young receptionist directing us to the check in area. Had she realized when we got there that the "check in"door was locked with a sign saying to use other door, she would realize why we came in the wrong way. Either way, very poor first impression. Everyone we encountered after that however was very nice and the doctor was attentive. Our older dog Mazzy has a broken tooth which initially prompted us to go to the vet in the first place. We were told that she would need it extracted, which was not a big surprise. We were told that she should would need blood work done before the extraction so we agreed to the geriatric blood plan panel, price was around 160.00. After receiving the estimate for the extraction, we saw a charge for a mini lab work up that was only around 57.22, evidently she really didn't need to get the 160 blood work just a 57.22 one but they failed to mention that until checkout. The receptionist said oh yeah there are other optional fees in there but she would elaborate pass that. All in all won't be returning, will continue our search for a good vet office. read more

Unfortunately, I am having to update my review from 4 stars to 1. Here is why. I used to love this clinic but the past two trips I experienced a level of unprofessionalism that cannot be ignored. The vet techs are super sweet and helpful but it's the DR that I saw that hit the wrong buttons. I took one of my dogs in yesterday for her annual exam and the doctor was nice. She checked some tumors that I asked her to check and she did it efficiently. I was pleased with the service until the end. I asked her briefly about some some symptoms my other dog was having and she dismissed me. I wasn't asking her to diagnose him just if she thought I should bring him in. At most she could've said if you're worried you should bring him in. I overlooked that comment and still decided to make an appointment the next day for my other dog because I suspected he had a UTI. The next day when I brought my other dog in the doctor forgot that we had met yesterday. On top of that she told her tech they had to hurry because they only had 20 minutes for the exam. I understand they only have so much time per patient but you don't let the customer hear this because it makes it seem like you don't care. For the amount of money and trust you put into these people I would expect more professionalism. I cannot in good faith recommend someone to take their pet here. Especially, if you're like me and think of your pets as family. After two back to back unpleasant visits I have decided to change clinics. Previous review -I have been taking my dog here for a year. I chose this place based on a recommendation from a friend. I have taken my dog here for two annual exams and dental. The receptionist on the phone is always so personable and helpful. In the past year, my dog has gotten sick twice. Both times the receptionist listened to all the symptoms my dog had and helped me analyze on the phone if I needed to come in for an appointment. The only downside to this place being so popular is that it is difficult to get an appointment on the fly. When my file was started whoever entered the information misspelled my name. This caused issues later when they needed to look up my file. This one incidence of lack detail has since been resolved. Also, I asked them to trim my dogs nails. I wish they had given me a heads up about the costs but I'm sure they just didn't believe it was relevant. Love Pet is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. When I bring my dog in they see me on time and the rest of the appt was efficient. My dog had to get a lot of shots and the vet tech let her lick a pb popsicle to help distract her from the pain. This clinic is close to my home and I will continue to bring my dog here. I have been happy with my services and feel comfort in knowing my dog is getting the best care. read more

Unfortunately after six years, I've elected to take my senior dog somewhere else. Kind of like when you are sick, you need to see someone...same with your animal. The past three times I've needed to get her in, it's been a minimum of a week wait. The doctors and techs have been very kind and caring, but one of them (no mention of names) did try to convince me that my 12 year old lab is a good candidate for teeth cleaning when she was only at a stage 2 out of 5. I'm no doctor, but I would think putting a large 12 year old dog under is pretty risky. In general, I believe this place is not as aggressive as others... But they do need to have more staff to accommodate their patients or stop accepting new patients. One should not have to wait one week to bring in a sick animal. I have also found other vets in town that charge a lot less than this hospital. read more

After dealing with Banfield for far too long I finally quit playing around and took my dog to a non-HMO vet. They listened to me, did relevant tests, were wonderful with my dog and were resolved to help me get to the bottom of my doggy's itchy, peely skin. And the customer service could not be better. For example, I left work late today was in danger of not making their 6 pm closing time. They told me they did do overnight care and if I didn't make it, it'd be a $24 charge. Not a huge deal, but I was still racing to make it. Stuck in traffic on Mopac, I got another phone call from the Vet. Don't race to make it, they said, the clinic owner (Dr. Love) said to waive the fee as she didn't want me to get in an accident racing to make it there.... I was almost in tears. So seldom is real human care found in fee-based interactions anymore. That $24 she waived just got her a client for life! read more

I love this place. It's unfortunate that Andrea had the experience she had. Not only do my animals go here as regular clients (8 cats + 3 dogs), but twice I've had to bring in two cats who were just run over (separate occasions). One was mine, and the other I didn't know - just trying to do the right thing. Dr. Wisbrock treated my own cat when he was hit, and was truly amazing with Wolfgang, and his freaked-out parents. They stabilized Wolfie and got fluids in him, and called the Central Texas Veterinary Hospital (also equally amazing - they fit him into surgery within hours) to make arrangements for Wolfie to be seen there. They were wonderfully caring. Between the two hospitals, they saved Wolfie's life, who sustained pretty major damage after having his whole pelvic region crushed. Not only is the staff really nice and empathetic, they are not one of those places that charges every opportunity they can. Oh yeah, I found a disabled bird in my yard. Looked okay, just couldn't fly. Not knowing what else to do with it, I took it to LPH. They probably didn't appreciate me bringing them some street bird, but they certainly didn't show it - they took it and gave it the same care they did with all the animals. read more
