Just great food and good beer. I've had schnitzel in Germany and I'd say it's comparable to the real deal.

The food was amazing. Being German I grew up eating this food and this place definitely reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. I had the Krauter rahm schnitzel and my husband had the schnitzel with fried eggs on top. Both were amazing. The cucumber salad was refreshing. Service was good and fast. I had a taste for some authentic German food I haven't experience any since the early 90s when my family and I lived there. Upon entering we were greeted and promptly seated, the host and hostess were friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed the German decor although the lighting was little dark however very interesting wall art. We order the Jaeger Schnitzel with gravy and potatoes which was really delicious and portion can satisfy the biggest hunger, we also order Beef and Noodles... the noodles were well cooked and beef flavorful (wished more beef and gravy was served with it) nevertheless good comfort food. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the menu options were perfect. Simplicity of food is very risky because it is very difficult to achieve and still make it taste delicious. Since moving to Martinez, we are trying restaurants on the other side of the town. I didn't know that there was. Bavarian restaurant here. It's all star you expect from a good Bavarian place, great wursts and .5 L beer on tap. The place has vibe of going to visit your aunt. Went to our favorite German restaurant and they didn't open until 4, so we decided to try this restaurant instead. At best, the food was mediocre. There was no one in the restaurant when we arrived. Service was average. The menu is not very big and most of the choices closely resemble one another. I ordered chicken cordon bleu and it came with German potatoe salad. The potatoes were prepared like boiled ones and hardly any seasoning or taste. The chicken was bland as well. The other dishes looked lack luster as well. If you want a mixed drink, this is not where you'll get one. No domestic beers either. Only German beers are served. We gave this place a try and we will not go back. Having been to Augsburg, GE it was nostalgic to find a German Style eatery near me. After three tries, this is what I conclude. The food is barely authentic, by that I mean, there is no flavor or scent that says "Willkommen in Deutschland". The service took their time, even with only one table occupied. They appeared to be bothered by my presence on all three visits. They seemed to be neither happy to see me come, nor happy to see me go. Working for Amazon near Augusta, GA this week, decided to search for a place to have a nice meal. FOUND IT!! Really good food. Had the bratwurst plate. Delicious and tender brats. Saurkraut was ok, pretty average but the mashed potatoes.....watch out. These potatoes were fantaboulously creamy and with the goulash gravy? Oh....my....goodness. So good. When my fiance and I first entered this place, I was a bit skeptical of how good the food would be because there were no customers there and the inside was darkly lit. However, once we sat down and started talking to our waiter/chef, I was pleasantly surprised. The man offered recommendations of which foods to try (since we had never had German food before) and they were spot on to our tastes. I had the gulasch which is a type of gravy and meat poured on top of these noodle like things (see my picture to understand what I'm talking about). It was very heavy on the stomach which was actually a good thing because I had skipped breakfast that morning. About halfway through the meal, my fiance and I switched plates so we could get a new taste on our palates. My fiance ordered the jaegerschnitzel which is fried pork and this was also topped with gravy (though you can get it without). It came with chunks of potato too which complimented the pork. This plate is also a bit heavy on the stomach, but very delicious. Overall, I liked this place. It wasn't the most amazing food I've had, but I'd recommend others to give this place a try (especially if you're a 'meat and potatoes' type of person). We paid about $7.50 per dish during lunch. Dinner is a bit pricy at about $12 a dish. read more

Food was awful 40 plus years ago when they were on Walton way and has not improved today. Had the roulade with red cabbage and spaetzle. The only thing edible were the spaetzle as long as the gravy was not on it. All was extremely salty, the cabbage was big leaves cooked with not much taste. The German salad was passable. Ambiance non existent. Our waitress could not have cared less. Had to ask for refill of water, never asked if we needed anything or how the food was.
