Bland. That is my one word summary for this place. Olde Town Hall was recommended to us a few years ago and it's been on our list for a while. Pros: - Menu has something for everyone Cons: - Everything tasted bland and a big time lack of seasoning. Everything just tasted like what it was. Chicken tasted like chicken. French fries tasted like potato. Burger tasted like beef. Nothing really stood out. - The customers. I felt like I was in a nursing home in here. I'm 33 and was easily 40 years younger than most of the customers. - Smell. It smelled musty inside, like old wood. I know the building is over a 100 years old, but I dine in Savannah quite frequently. It smelled old in a musty way inside that wasn't pleasant. - OVERCOOKED CHICKEN. Oh man. A cardinal sin. A big time no no. - The vibe inside was old. Not cute/historic old. Just...old. Kind of like walking into your grandparents house. The table and chair were wobbly because they were...uhhhh... old. Get what I'm saying? Yeah, this place let me down. I ordered smothered chicken and it kind of looked like slop. It wasn't very appealing. The chicken was very over-cooked which no-one is a fan of. It also tasted so bland it could have passed as turkey. The mashed potatoes had mushrooms in it and that was a weird texture combination for me. We also had onion rings and fried mozzarella. They were fine. The onion rings needed salt, but almost everything needed salt so that was a recurring theme. My wife had the burger and said...(guess what?) It needed salt and pepper. When you walk into a restaurant and 90% of the people are over the age of 70 you can probably imagine it won't be the best. This place did the old vibe wrong.

Nice date night spot. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked gorgeous and yummy and our own plates did not disappoint. The crab cake sandwich was thick and well flavored and sweet potato fries were hot and perfectly cooked. Meatloaf and potatoes will definitely be ordered again as well. My old fashioned seemed a bit watered down so I'll have to try again next time!

Don't let the small-town vibe fool you--this place is a hidden gem! The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. The shrimp and grits had a unique and delicious twist, and the fish and chips featured perfectly seasoned, locally sourced fish--not your average heavy batter. Cocktails were top-notch; we tried the peanut butter old fashioned, cosmo martini, and house old fashioned--each one a hit. Definitely worth the stop if you're anywhere near Ridgeway!

This was a random stop for dinner on the way to Columbia, SC. Staged in a historic building the restaurant had a small town feeling with exciting menu options. Beer list was limited but wine list was extensive. Service was enjoyable and quick. We shared a Tuscan salmon on linguine. The fish was perfectly prepared. They offer special food events so if you are local I recommend planning to attend one .

Had to drive about 25 minutes out of town to find this gorgeous downtown area with a few shops & a pub. This restaurant & pub alone was worth the drive. All of it looked great honestly but kept it lunchy with our choices (although if there's mashed potatoes on the menu I'm getting them). Sweet potato fries were so good and sweet. Mashed potatoes were to die for! My husband loved the burger & I loved my panini. We can't wait to come back for date night & dive into dinner. Our service was great, food came fast, which is always a plus! Must try/visit.

Great food and service. The ambiance was load but they were extremely busy. It's a little on the expensive side.

Formerly the Town of Ridgeway, SC's Town Hall...thus...the Old Town Hall (OTH).

Food was great, service excellent, and as always it turns out to be our favorite spot for Fish & Chips. I had the Bangers and Mash...first time I've ever had it. (I never order anything but the Fish & Chips) and it was as good as the Fish & Chips. Great sausage and sauteed onions/gravy. I also ordered a side of stone ground mustard (which two of my friends recommended) and it really hit the spot. Will definitely order it again. The Shepherd's pie was said to be excellent! Great place.

Now mind you there were a lot of empty tables with "reserved" on them at that point. Fast forward an hour later, because we didn't get a txt from them, we went in to see what the story was. They proceeded to tell us it would be another 30 minutes. Also the seats that had "reserved" on them were still empty! They said they would take care of us, and walked us over to the bar side, and told us we would have to stand at the counter to eat! I was fuming. The other three from my party walked out, while i proceeded to tell the manager this was extremely poor service! All he could say was they were busy. I pointed out the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in an hour ago and are still empty! They finally gave us one of those tables. We were out in an hour and guess what ...... there were still empty tables with "reserved" on them! Would NOT recommend this place to anyone! My suggestion is to go someplace else!! Like I said, our waitress was extremely nice and couldn't apologize enough.

They opened at 11:00 and we walked in at 11:01, anxious to get our fish! The waitress was great and set us up quickly at a table and took our drink orders and brought us Guiness and teas. She heard all the chatter about the Fish N Chips and the next thing she said is "We don't have any beer batter yet, so no Fish N Chips! Immediately there were groans and moans. We had our beer and had come here specifically for the Fish N. Chips. She went back to check and returned saying "Yep, no beer batter so no Fish N Chips". Several of us joked that we may as well drink our beer and go next door to the Mongolian Yummy Stir fry place. We now started browsing for other menu items that we wanted. After about five minutes she came back out and said they could make up some batter but didn't know how long it would take. (How long does it take to stir up beer batter?). We said we'd wait. In the meantime two of our guys placed orders for the Scottish Eggs and Onion Rings for the table. They were both excellent. Three of us ordered the Fish N Chips and two had decided to go with the Bangers and Mash. One order for the Beef Eater sandwich, one Club Sandwich and one Rueben Sandwich. The food came out and the fish n chips were great. Not greasy, crispy, large haddock slice with great french fries. and green peas (which were barely luke ward, almost cold). The two guys with the Bangers and Mash loved it..Great sausage and the potatoes were excellent with mustard. The Rueben was great and also the Beef Eater. The waitress did a great job, checking on us throughout lunch. All in all, what started out as a questionable lunch turned into another fine lunch for the ROMEO group. The rating was 9.18 on the ROMEO scale...5.0 on Yelp scale. Only issue was something was wrong with the tea. It almost looked like water. Maybe because we were the first group in and the tea had just been made.

When the British Bulldog calls itself a "pub", I feel like it's one of the very few places that takes that moniker to heart. Even though it's located in somewhat of a strip-mall setting, once you walk inside the building, you're amazed by the authenticity of the inside. Personally, I loved the brick and wood that made up the interior, which gave the restaurant the realistic "pub" vibe that I mentioned earlier. Furthermore, I loved the framed, and hanging, soccer flags, which was a marked contrast to the professional and college sports paraphernalia at your typical American sports bar. I walked in kind of late, and just sat at the bar, which still made for a great experience. Even though it's an English restaurant, they still had a lot of the popular local and domestic beers, to go along with the more English-themed beverages. I asked if they had any "sours", and the bartender was kind enough to offer me a sample of the two (2) sours that they had on tap, and let me choose the one I liked the most. The aforementioned bartender was great, and I overheard him offering some folks from out-of-town with recommendations for nearby late-night spots and high-quality local joints. Finally, my simple order of chicken tenders and fries was pretty good, and I thoroughly enjoyed their steak-cut "chips," or French Fries. All-in-all, I waited too long to try out the British Bulldog, which was a great pub experience that definitely lived up to my high expectations. I'll definitely be coming back soon, and in turn, would recommend it to anybody else!
