What a pleasant surprise in the small South Carolina town of Ridgeway! Stopped on a Saturday evening and had to sit outside on the patio as inside was packed and tables reserved for the entire evening. Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Did not get an opportunity to investigate the inside of the restaurant. One thing we found strange was the bar seating closed at 6:30. Odd for a Saturday. You could still get alcohol served at your table but odd that the bar shut down. If you're ever traveling on I-77 north of Columbia and it's lunch or dinner time go into Ridgeway for a bite. Bland. That is my one word summary for this place. Olde Town Hall was recommended to us a few years ago and it's been on our list for a while. Pros: - Menu has something for everyone Cons: - Everything tasted bland and a big time lack of seasoning. Everything just tasted like what it was. Chicken tasted like chicken. French fries tasted like potato. Burger tasted like beef. Nothing really stood out. - The customers. I felt like I was in a nursing home in here. I'm 33 and was easily 40 years younger than most of the customers. - Smell. It smelled musty inside, like old wood. I know the building is over a 100 years old, but I dine in Savannah quite frequently. It smelled old in a musty way inside that wasn't pleasant. - OVERCOOKED CHICKEN. Oh man. A cardinal sin. A big time no no. - The vibe inside was old. Not cute/historic old. Just...old. Kind of like walking into your grandparents house. The table and chair were wobbly because they were...uhhhh... old. Get what I'm saying? Yeah, this place let me down. I ordered smothered chicken and it kind of looked like slop. It wasn't very appealing. The chicken was very over-cooked which no-one is a fan of. It also tasted so bland it could have passed as turkey. The mashed potatoes had mushrooms in it and that was a weird texture combination for me. We also had onion rings and fried mozzarella. They were fine. The onion rings needed salt, but almost everything needed salt so that was a recurring theme. My wife had the burger and said...(guess what?) It needed salt and pepper. When you walk into a restaurant and 90% of the people are over the age of 70 you can probably imagine it won't be the best. This place did the old vibe wrong. read more

Nice date night spot. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked gorgeous and yummy and our own plates did not disappoint. The crab cake sandwich was thick and well flavored and sweet potato fries were hot and perfectly cooked. Meatloaf and potatoes will definitely be ordered again as well. Don't let the small-town vibe fool you--this place is a hidden gem! The food and cocktails were absolutely amazing. We recently dine here for my wife's birthday! My youngest son always likes to hear the specials, and he had the duck that night and really liked it. I have recently gone keto, so I had the bacon-wrapped stuffed meatloaf with vegetable (asparagus) and side salad! Everything was delicious! My oldest son had the smothered chicken, his usual, and he loved it. My wife had a ribeye steak and bragged about it! My youngest son's roommate had a steak with potato wedges which looked delicious! Our service was great! We have the same waitress practically every time we go there, and she is attentive to our orders, drinks, and condiment needs. Had to drive about 25 minutes out of town to find this gorgeous downtown area with a few shops & a pub. This restaurant & pub alone was worth the drive. All of it looked great honestly but kept it lunchy with our choices (although if there's mashed potatoes on the menu I'm getting them). Sweet potato fries were so good and sweet. Mashed potatoes were to die for! My husband loved the burger & I loved my panini. We can't wait to come back for date night & dive into dinner. Let me start by saying I have been here a few times, have never been disappointed. This last time though was really not great . . The mussels as always were great , calamari though from frozen for sure , was good too . My friend loved his beef over fresh Alfredo pasta. My other friend had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon and it was edible but very overcooked and dry . I had the salmon with pasta and it was really disappointing. It was rich , but very very bland and gloppy with way too many sundried tomatoes which I love but overwhelmed the texture of the dish. Not enjoyable at all. Service was perfect, Christina is wonderful . This will still be one of my favorite places and I will continue to return . My review is more for the chefs and restaurant info . First time... we're new to the area, came on a recommendation from a neighbor. I'm a foodie and this place did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. Where it fell flat was the service. First, you don't rattle off a list of more than three specials and then show annoyance when you need to repeat. Second when you rattle off said list say it slowly like you want the customer to really understand what they are getting. I ordered the lamb special and all I heard was with mashed potato not Brussel sprouts so I ordered more veggies. Third offer the price! Same thing happened with dessert. With your extensive specials offer a printed copy would be extremely helpful. The list was so overwhelming my dining partner deferred to the standard menu. read more

While having a little weekend get away with my family in a nearby cabin we opted to check this spot out for lunch. We were staying in great falls SC And this spot was basically the closest restaurant for us. The spot is easy to find and appears to be located in the towns downtown area. Upon walking in- we were not immediately greeted. It appears that the restaurant is under staffed as is the case for a lot of restiarbaf. One of the servers finally greeted us and advised she would clean off a table for us. We were seated at a table located directly in front of the large window at the front of the restaurant. It was nice to sit and observe the people walking around in the area. There was a concert in the adjacent lot so there were plenty of people to see. Our server was nice. She appeared to be the only one working a pretty crowded room. She held the dinning room down! The menu consisted of options for just about everyone. From wings, and pizza to fish options. Two of the patrons in my party ordered wings, two ordered panning and one ordered a pizza. I did try some of everyone's food and I have to say the pizza was the best. The wings were solid and my sweet potato fries had a great taste, although they appeared to be reheated and not fresh. Overall I would say this place is pretty good. The food was surprisingly good, and service was as good as it can get when a restaurant is under staffed. If in the area, it's worth stopping by. read more

What a gem...smack dab in the middle of lil' ole' Ridgeway, SC. Head Chef Ahmed and owner Angelina head up a staff of dedicated locals that keep this place running at Top Notch. We had reservations for Mothers' Day Brunch and arrived late to a packed house. We ended up eating at the bar which was just as good. The bar is an old-timey full-length wood bar that gives this place a cozy feel like you can sit there all night. Which ensures that I WILL BE BACK! We had the fried green tomato appetizer which was fabulous and came with a cream sauce and grits. Forgot to take a pic because we were kate and hungry and scarfed them down. The Hubby had the Shrimp & Grits and he said they were even BETTER than mine! A hard pill to swallow for me..but the grits were not...they were indeed better than mine. I had the French Toast with Marscarpone cream...delicious! And I didn't even need to use the syrup because the cream & fruit provided a custardy gravy that was well sweet enough. I gave four stars because the ambiance was a little hectic that day and that staff seemed very stressed...but I am looking forward to hitting one of their First Friday Prime Rib Nights (the first Friday of every month) to earn that 5th Star! They only offer Brunch on 2 Sundays per month..so for that...and the Prime Rib night, be sure to make a reservation...and get there on-time...cause there is always somebody that is waiting for your table if you don't! This restaurant was really quaint and I really enjoyed the little town. The fish and chips were delicious! Fish melted in your mouth, literally. As for the fries, a little overcooked and not to my liking. The server was so sweet and nice. She was very good too since she was waiting on most of the customers herself. The waitress came out and gave us the menu. She was pleasant and got our drinks. I ordered a burger medium and it came out perfect with great flavor. The onion ring were fantastic. In the South for a month and in need of some serious social activity and libations with the family. So, I did what Yelpers do, I went to the source of course... and came across OTH. Just like that my sister in law and I decided to give them a taste. We arrived on a Wednesday with small appetites but extremely thirsty. Just so happens Wednesday's @ OTH are ladies nights. All Svedka Martinis regularly $5 are $3, and just like that it was time to quench our thirst. Some drinks were way above others such as the Mai Tai-Tini, Sunburst & Mango Martinis with honorable mention to the Blue Hawaiian, others were just not up to par for me. We decided to order some wings and the BBQ Chicken pizza for something to nosh on while indulging on $3 thirst quenchers. The BBQ Chicken Pizza was simply delish with sautéed onions and well balanced BBQ sauce, the wings weren't memorable. The drinks that were successful were such a hit, we returned the following Wednesday, our party of two became a party of four for the 2nd time around. The $3 Martinis and BBQ Pizza were a must and still a home run. On this visit we were in need of both thirst quenchers and sustenance. So we ordered entrees Crab cakes and Ribeye, both included two sides. For all entrees the sides were unanimously mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables (spinach) or a side salad. The crab cakes were well executed, not too heavy with breading and seasoned nicely. They were fairly hearty in size and were complimented with a tasty marmalade sauce. The mashed potatoes were ok, really just mash nothing special. For the ribeye consumer at the table, their review was that it's was ok not memorable. My likelihood of returning is slim because I was just visiting family in SC and this was actually a locale I found for us to try. Overall a cool spot in an old town feel neighborhood located it what appears to be a historic building. They have a couple of must try menu items, BBQ Chicken Pizza, the crab cakes and the Mango Martini were my three favs. Some minor hiccups on our 2nd visit, our first set of app plates were all dirty and needed to be replaced with clean ones and ordering any other drink besides the featured Martinis may be a struggle/gamble. Mojito, Old Fashion, and Manhattan were all made poorly and were returned but the Martinis were good. Our server was accommodating with changing drink orders and replacing flatware when needed. Just A Note: Some cocktails ie: Mojito & Old Fashion were made heavily with seltzer and weren't palatable, POV of the entire table... I follow the Columbia Eats Facebook group and someone had posted about this restaurant so I decided to try it. It's only 18 minutes from my house so that was good. I asked to be seated outside. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza and spinach dip. It was good. I asked for the pizza to be well done and it was on top but the bottom was still not done. I just took the pizza home and cooked it on the flat top and it made the bottom crisp without over cooking the top. I purchased an alcoholic drink. I was really surprised to happen upon a decent restaurant in Ridgeway, South Carolina, as Ridgeway, and you can trust me on this, isn't much of a town. However, Olde Town Hall Restaurant & Pub lived up to my expectations of a good restaurant offer some unique and delicious foods along with a really nice bar. As I was stuck in a place down by the Interstate as an evacuee sheltering myself from Hurricane Irma as it was striking Florida I had a lot of meals here. I had several of their 8 ounce filet dishes, which were of course on different occasions, each of which came exactly as order, were properly prepared, tender and delicious. Their fried green tomatoes are rather good considering that they are done in the typical not all that great Carolina fashion as opposed to what you'll find in New Orleans. Their best, however, is their special which is not on their menu, being bacon wrapped scallops. The classic old décor of the OTM, (that's Olde Time Hall which is how they refer to it) gives a wonderful warm and inviting ambiance and the service I had was exceptionally good. read more

Super, super cute little place. It's right in the heart of downtown Ridgeway. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it but it has tables and booths, a full bar, wait staff, and beautiful floor to ceiling glass windows. Its not a deli, not a steak house, not a sport bar. It's just a really nice little family restaurant that is not too upscale and not to divvy right in the middle of ridegway. I was meeting someone from charlotte halfway and this turned out to be the perfect little spot. They are open for lunch and dinner. The website is beautiful and easy to navigate. We did not need reservations but it was pretty busy so I would definitely make them if you have more than a couple of people. I was greater promptly and went straight to the bar. It took nearly 15 mns to put in my order but from what i could tell there were only two servers running everything from the host stand, all the tables, and the bar. They were flying. I was there to have a good time so I didnt much care. Drinks were secured and we were show to our table. Great menus with a wide variety of options. I settled on something light, the chicken salad croissant and my partner had the chicken salad. The food was FAST! it was beautifully presented and it did not feel like we were in small town america at all. Great service. Pretty location. Yummy reasonably priced food. This place is awesome! Husband and I were traveling on 77S looking for a place to eat so I pulled up my Exit App ( if you don't have this app get it!) We both wanted something different and I saw this place on exit 34. It was a little off the exit but we had time. I'm so glad we went. The food was amazing! This was a great find we were heading to Columbia South Carolina and decided to stop for lunch before we got there. My wife has a way of finding little gems as we are driving on the highway. A nice little town when we turned in off the highway. At first we weren't sure we would find anything there and then came across a couple buildings which she had already located on Google. Nice menu a full bar and a list of several beers to choose from. My wife got a Moscow Mule and I try to couple local beers.
