Great food, great ambiance inside/outside, and friendly staff! I've gone here once since I live right next to it and it's such a chill place to kick back and enjoy southern cooking. They got a broad menu for drinks and your traditional burgers and stuff, which is what I ended up getting, but it was a really good burger! My friend got the pizza and he said it was pretty good, though the portion isn't as big as we thought it would be, but we did enjoy the twist on their menu, it's not your traditional food by any means. My favorite is their strawberry cheesecake dessert. Something about it here that just tasted way better than other locations I've tried for cheesecakes. We got to enjoy the outside on warm evening out in the patio section. Oh also what's fun is if you play Pokemon Go, they have a gym & Pokestop here, so great for casual gaming while hanging out enjoying some good food! read more

This is a great place hang out with a good variety of beers on tap. I took some home from the clearance rack and, to my surprised, loved them. I had the sweet potato fries and they were okay. It's just sweet pots and honey. Next time I'll try the flatbread. The service was great , per usual. read more

TLDR: A MUST TRY, LOCAL GEM!! Almost hesitant posting how FREAKING amazing this place is, because the second people realize, it's going to be PACKED 24/7. 1000/10 every single time. Infinite delicious beer/cider choices and the food, THE FOOD. Everything is prepared to absolute perfection and they keep it fun with rotating menu items! I seriously can't say enough good things about the food, you HAVE to experience it for yourself to understand the magnitude of how amazing everything is! To tie the experience together, the atmosphere is perfection, outside seating at night, the lighting is adorable in a vintage backyard setting! Last but not least, the PRICES!!! Super affordable in general but INSANELY affordable when considering the quality of the drinks, food, atmosphere, and service! Random Tap is an absolute MUST try for anyone and everyone!! *this review is based on several visits, each time just as amazing as the last if not better! read more

They have more beer than you can drink in one visit. They have a outside area you can bring your pup and they will even bring out water bowls for them! The staff is hit or miss on beer knowledge. The guy we had seemed to know about the ever but the lady all she knew was the number. But it's a great place. Just make sure you carpool as parking is very limited. read more

DH and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon . The building is super cute and I expected only good things. We sat down at the bar only 3 other people there . After a bit of time (longer than you would expect) we were greeted. I am not really a stickler on service to be honest but since there was nobody there this was almost uncomfortable. We were handed our menus and then I told the server what type of beer I preferred and asked if any of the beer they had was similar and we were told that she has no idea because she is under age and doesn't drink the beer. (wth!?) then she told us we could scan the QR for the beer list and walked away. We chose our beer and it was good, however the whole exchange was so weird we just left after that. read more

This small beer bar was pretty crowded on a Friday night and I got the last parking spot in the lot. So it's better as a bar than a restaurant. Our server was doing her best but the kitchen was not cooperating. We ordered two appetizers and one sandwich to share and after what seemed like a very long time I asked about the appetizers. They usually come out pretty quickly. I was told they would be a few more minutes. And you can guess what happened next. Our entree came out first. We were hungry so we dug in and it wasn't until about 10 minutes later that the appetizers were ready. I dislike it when that happens. But, for bar food it was pretty good. We had the sliders which came with fries and the chicken Caesar wrap which had shaved Parmesan on it. The Brussels sprouts were dry and just nothing to write home about. I would avoid them next time. As you might expect, the beer selection was great. About 30 on draft to choose from. And several wines. But this is not a bar with mixed drinks. No sodas or cocktails. I would go back again but keep expectations low for the kitchen. read more

The food is okay service is good but a little slow. I did not like the drunk long bearded local following to my car and asking if I am okay. It had an under tone to it. I will not go back and be careful going of you are a person of color. read more

Great establishment! Small menu but the food was delicious. Recommend: Wings and Sweet potato fries! Waitresses were very attentive to the people inside and outside. Definitely a nice place to come chill for a few beers and great fun! I'm not a beer drinker and the bartender was very accommodating on allowing me to taste items to see what I like. They have Options to buy canned/bottles to go but don't open them or there's a $2 fee! Very interactive (trivia, corn hole, music and tvs). Parking is limited! We will definitely be back! read more

This is a great local bar, or more Tavern. They have a focus on their beer, but on the days they serve food it is excellent. The service is outstanding. The ambiance quirky. The price is reasonable. read more

My husband and my two friends and I stopped here this past weekend after the ivy house flea market event and I'm so glad we did! They have a good selection of beer and even a few ciders. We went here with our friends for the first time Friday night. The inside was rather brightly lit and had customers at the bar with a couple of tables filled with customers. We found the door to the outside seating and took a table outside under an umbrella. They have a lot of nice outdoor tables, with and without the umbrellas, and a porch with tables for seating. Very nice. We were thinking that this would be more of a standard type menu, with a choice of entrees including pasta, steaks, etc....but couldn't find anything on their website or internet. What we did see was that it was more for beer, flatbreads, sandwiches/burger and wraps. My wife and friend asked if they had Chardonnay wine. The waiter said they had red and white wine. She asked what type, but he didn't know. Our friend asked the same thing. He went and checked and came back saying they did have Chardonnay. The ladies ordered a Chardonnay. My friend ordered a red, and I ordered the #10 beer on their menu...some type of Weiss beer. We wanted to order the chicken wings but were informed that they didn't have any wings. Our friends ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and a hamburger with fries. My wife ordered the salad and I ordered the grouper sandwich with aioli on a brioche bun. The food came out fairly fast...I was impressed with the speed. My wife said the salad was one of the best she had. It had strawberries, blue cheese, sweetened pecans and crispy chicken with a vinaigrette salad dressing. She said it was one of the best salads she's had in the area. My Grouper sandwich was also very good. Blackened grouper, tomato, lettuce, aioli and a nice bun. The only thing wrong with it was it was hard to eat as a sandwich, as the grouper was hanging out of the round brioche bun. Very good though. The fries (which were supposed to be truffle fries) were excellent. But I think they gave me the regular fries instead of the truffle fries, as my friend ordered regular fries with his hamburger and they were exactly like mine. His wife ordered the truffle fries and they had a drizzle of something on them, different than ours. I know the taste of truffles, but didn't taste any on my fries. Her chicken sandwich was very good, crispy and moist. All in all, the food was excellent. What we didn't like were the prices. Hamburger was $16.00 plus add $2 for fries or other sides. My grouper sandwich was $13 plus $2 for fries. My wife's salad was $13. She ordered two chardonnays and I had one beer. So my bill for a salad, fish sandwich with fries, two wines and one beer was $66. I didn't pay close attention to it but when we got home I looked at the bill and they had charged me $7 for the truffle fries (which I did not get). My friend ordered the Chicken sandwich with fries (supposed to be $2)...but she opted for truffle fries so they added $7 for those. Quite expensive. Food is good. Service was decent. We probably won't frequent here often, but will go back because the food was excellent. read more

Food, drinks and ambiance was awesome! Kaitlyn was the best server we've ever had. She was friendly, happy to get anything we needed, great at conversation and quick! We'll definitely be back The bartender was also very friendly and greeted us immediately. On Saturday 9/3 1900 read more

Love the atmosphere. Friendly staff, lots to do, and amazing food. Service animal friendly and lots to do.

Great place to just relax and have a cold beer. Service is great! Will be going back to try the food.

I absolutely love the revolving craft beer selection and the friendly staff. The menu has changed a couple of times recently but the food is great for bar snacks. They used to have wings in a honey Cajun flavor that they don't have anymore. Wish they would bring that back it was delicious! They do have calamari now and I am a whore for calamari. Always a great time! read more

Food is great! There was one item that I did not like on the menu that I received, and the chef came out to personally ask me what food item I would like in place of it. All the staff is super welcoming, and they have a pretty large assortment of beer flavors. I like that there is also a rating system on the beers that tells you what other customers have rated the beer flavor in the past. For the times that I bring my toddler with me, they have a wall of toys and activities to keep him busy. Will definitely be returning! read more

If there was a sixth star I'd give it six. I went there for happy hour last night. Recently heard about this bar and had no expectations. Initially I thought this could be one of those "rough Elgin" bars. Not the case at all as it was about 30 "beer nuts" in a room. Everyone was enjoying a host of unique beers from all over the country. It was literally amazing. The 15 tapped 1/6 barrels that they had flowing was awesome. They kicked 4 barrels in the time I was there but had awesome beers that followed them up. They rotate kegs quick which I loved! Basically every beer was amazing. The staff also was outstanding. Dan is the man and seemed to be the personality of the bar. The ladies with him were kind, friendly and knowledgeable. There was a beer in there for everyone and they were glad to help if the didn't have a macro you were accustomed to. Not sure bud or Miller lite was there so hit some other place if that's your bag. There's no food but they're totally cool if you want to bring your own or call the Pontiac House of Pizza. I had an awesome time last night and plan to be back many times. Well Done Elgin! read more

I don't drink beer so it's a real waste for me to go here. However, they do have house vino. Just cheap stuff. Nice people though.

*Don't go hungry* I do love the vibe there and been going for years. Great beer selection! But just like every where the struggle is real when it comes to ordering food. Either not enough wait staff or no kitchen staff. Suggest you eat before going especially on special event nights, like Thursdays. Staff is always very apologetic for the wait but still frustrating for everyone. read more

The food and beer was phenomenal. I went there in a whim to try something new. Beer prices are a little pricey

When you don't agree with the click they block you from the Facebook page. Service decent, I rather spend my $ where people appreciate you. When you're not in for a while after being a good supporter they don't call or inquire. Plenty of other places that do and others that agree. read more

I was not impressed with this bar at all. The Beer is overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. Spend your money somewhere else.

A relaxed ambience with good beer. Your hood bar. Service can improve when they get busy is a little chaotic behind the bar.

We have been here several times and we are definitely fans. The beers tend to err on the higher side of moderately priced *but* they're all exceptional quality. I don't think I've ever gotten the same beer twice and I have never had a bad beer. They have 15 rotating beers on tap, featuring many local brews, and an ever wider variety in their beer cooler. The staff is always exceptionally kind and personable, and the patrons are laid back and inviting. You walk in and everyone treats you like family. We like supporting local business whenever possible and the fine people at Random Tap have definitely earned our loyalty. read more
