The tomahawk steak especially was disappointing because it had a noticeably gamey flavor around the bone. I'm not sure whether it was the seasoning or rub used, but the flavor was off-putting. The cheesy potatoes were the only item that actually arrived hot. The Brussels sprouts were mostly dry leaves with barely any actual sprouts. Another issue was the inconsistency from plate to plate. The second and third orders of wings were noticeably different from the first batch. We chose not to send food back because we understand food waste, kitchen pressure, and the challenges restaurants face. We simply wanted to enjoy the evening and make the best of it. Still, after such a long wait, leaving unsatisfied was disappointing. What stood out most was that the owner was nearby, aware that concerns had been brought up, yet never came over to check on the table personally. What truly made the evening special was the outstanding service. Our server, Will, was training a new server (I wish I remembered her name because she was wonderful, too). Will was incredibly professional, patient, and attentive throughout the entire meal. He did an excellent job mentoring her while still making sure we felt well taken care of. We agreed, I put my name on the list and we went to sit down. Maybe3-4 minutes later, a family of 4 came in, put there name on the list and sat down. After about 10-15 minutes, the server (who was also at the hostess stand and told us that it will be a 30 min wait) went to the family of 4 and seated them at a booth. Noticing this, I walked to the hostess stand and asked one of the servers who was walking around if I could speak with a manager. Shortly afterwards, a young man came to the front. He never introduced himself but instead, just asked what the problem was. Before telling him I asked him 2 questions. My first question was were the booths on both sides of the restaurant the same size (on the opposite side of the restaurant, there was a couple sitting in a booth). He confirmed that they were the same size. I then proceeded to ask him did they accept reservations. He told me that they DO NOT accept reservations. With this information made available (because I wanted to make SURE that my concern was valid), I told him how the family of 4 that had been seated had come in AFTER us. He looked at the wait list and tried to tell me that the name on the list for a family of 4 was ahead of me (to provide additional context, the wait list contains the name for the party waiting to be seated as well as the time that the party arrived. My name and time was BEFORE the family that came in. I confirmed this as we were looking at the wait list TOGETHER). The manager then proceeds to say, "Well I wasn't up here" as if that much wasn't obvious. After expressing my disappointment with the service received, he offered a lackluster apology, "Well I'm sorry". I told him that I just wanted to bring it to his attention, informed him that he could remove us from the list because we were no longer interested in dining there, and we left. There has to be a better standard of service in this establishment and some of the staff could definitely benefit from some training in interpersonal relationships.
