Visited Roma for the first time while visiting family locally. The staff was extremely friendly and made you feel like family. Our waiter Ron was one of the most polite waiters I've ever had and super friendly. Everyone loved the garlic knots that came. The salad was a fairy basic iceberg salad with some banana pepper and one wedge of tomato. Our table had the following entrees: Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, Chicken Franchese and Chicken Parmigiana. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We also got the double chocolate cake and the Spumoni desserts. My wife is in a wheelchair. The bathroom was accessible. The layout of the restaurant however is fairly tight for a wheelchair as far as table selection. Would recommend you check it out. read more

Food is ok. Garlic knots are delicious. House salad is puny- iceberg, 1/4 of a pink tomato, a banana pepper. Very boring and oily house dressing too. Entree was shrimp with pasta- I make better at home. Service was fine but nothing special. read more

Stopped by Roma's this lovely Friday evening around 7 pm. Asked for one of their specialty pizzas to carry out. For some reason that was not made clear, the manager refused my order. Right after I saw him hand another customer a carry out order. This is poor service and reflects poorly on this establishment that I used to like. Thus, I am now enjoying a pizza from a much better local restaurant. I may go back if they find a new manager. read more

A friend recommended we try Roma's out because we'd been to another more authentic type of pizza restaurant in the area that is more expensive so we decided to give this a shot. We went on a Friday when they opened right at 4pm because that's a wild Friday "night" for those of us with a baby! There were already people there too so we knew that was a good sign and we weren't the only ones wanting early dinner (though nobody else had a baby). The vibes are good, it's a classic looking Italian sit down restaurant with some kitschy decor but it wasn't bad. We ordered pretty quickly and got our wine and were offered some garlic knots (so yummy!) while we waited for the pizza. We chose our own toppings rather than a preset pizza and it was delicious! I can't remember the exact inch measurement of the pizza but it was the larger option and it was more than enough for two adults. We took home a couple slices each and enjoyed it the next day. Our server was excellent, really attentive and kept an eye on waters and garlic knot refills. Overall it was a really pleasant experience and I will definitely be back for more soon! read more

At best a 2 for quality of food and service. This place survives off of the captive audience of WOODSIDE. Food is bland. Sauce is canned...good canned tomatoes, canned. The sauce is not altered from the can. No Italian garlic or love here. Ordered the mussels with red sauce as an appetizer...mussels and sauce did not get cooked together and therefor no depth of flavor. Sauce on mussels is the same salty sauce on everything else (including calzone & assume pizza). Mussels were seemingly microwaved, although chef & owner disagreed (there was an obvious language barrier). Cold and hot at same time as only capable in a microwave. Sorry to say, we sent them back. 30-min later, we aren't feeling great... We both got house salads...apathetically only iceberg with 2 quarter tomatoes, 2 olives, and some pickled banana pepper slices. Balsamic dressing was just oil & dried herbs, but didn't have any balsamic. Best thing on menu...not microwaved. Then we grabbed a 100% vegetarian calzone and eggplant parm. First calzone was filled with pepperoni....Calzone was underdone, no sauce inside, with cold unmelted cheese and uncooked veggies. Sent it back. The egg parm was last straw...frozen, reheated (partially), and cheese melted under heat lamps. Sent it back. We tried to talk to the management in an inconspicuous manner, however the owners (front of house & chef) played a game regarding English as a second language & comprehension. Chef came out of kitchen and was confrontational about food. We paid for the wine, but left unable to eat our meals (and still hungry). We won't be back and wouldn't recommend to to others. I am so sad about my most recent experience there that will make so I will never go back. It's a shame to because the food was good and reasonablely priced. But the service and staff as well as owners are not so good. I called with an order for two families. A total of 9 people. 5 of them children. I ordered. First and foremost a large cheese pizza, a large pepperoni pizza, a large white pizza, two calzones and some garlic knots. We wait 45 mins which was fine the kids were all running around in the grass out front. I paid took my items out to the car and said wait I'm missing something. It was the cheese pizza, the one thing all the children wanted. So I went back inside to see if it was forgotten no big deal mistakes happen. She went back to the kitchen and came back and said she was sorry they forgot the cheese pizza and the cook and her boss said they will not make one because the kitchen was overwhelmed. This took me by surprise. What do you mean they said no. Can I talk to your manager( yes I said those Karen words). I have to feed these kids. She came out I was surprised it was the owner. She continued to yell at me in half Italian and English. Where she said no and she won't and threw up her hands and walked away. Keep in mind I paid for the pizza that she said no and she wouldn't make. Ugh she just ruined this place for me forever. Do better be polite I was not hostile I just wanted an explanation as to why you would not right a wrong. And btw you still owe me the pizza I PAID for! read more

Roma & it owner, Pat provide traditional Italian fare in addition to excellent pizza. I have been served Veal Parmigiano plus had pizza here before. Their salads are fresh & crisp. The sauce (gravy) is pure Italian & rivals restaurants in NYC little Italy. This visit I'm having the spaghetti & meatballs I've been craving for a couple of days. I came after 5 on a Sat. & it's packed. I'm eating at bar. The meal met all my expectations. I added a piece of fresh made cream cheese & it was delicious. We've tried this restaurant multiple times and have continued to go back, thinking that each time was a fluke. But this time will be their last chance as the food was not acceptable. We ordered lasagna and baked ziti. The lasagna was barely warm with a slice of un melted mozzarella cheese on the top of it. The baked ziti was equally not warm and the cheese that was on it was melted, but also not even warmed. Take it from an Italian whose mother fed him pasta and gravy 6 days a week, Roma's is the best Italian food in the area. The eggplant rolatini and chicken Mona Lisa are some favorites of mine. Without being too negative, trust me when I say that you do not want to go anywhere else in Aiken for your Italian food. Additionally, the staff and owners of Roma's have always been very friendly and welcoming. Even in 2020 when many businesses are being rude and unwelcoming to their customers, the staff at Roma's have allowed customers to eat safely and in peace and with the preservation of their liberty. Keep it up Roma's! Usually the chef will leave the kitchen to make sure you are happy with your meal and to encourage you to order some cheesecake or cannolis. Gotta love it! A+ read more

Never again. I hated it 10 yrs ago. My husband has been bugging me to try it again. After this time he said he would never go back. He said the sauce tasted like Ragu', the mozzarella caprese looked like it came from the depths of Food Lion hell, and my son took one bite of his pizza and through it in the garbage. I'm going to do 3 stars based simply on the fact that it's been 3.5 in the past. 5 of us had dinner there on 9/18/20. They were quite busy, but having worked in restaurants I get that. We ordered garlic knots and calamari as apps. I was told "we may not have enough garlic knots". Luckily they did. The calamari was significantly smaller than normal and contained many fewer "rings". The other pieces weren't properly trimmed and had hard, claw or nail like things at the end. I've never "trimmed nails" on my calamari before, but did that night. My Veal Francese and ziti was in a giant pool of stock, butter, and wine. It was like it was microwave soup. There was so much that it made the veal soggy, and even sloshed out of the plate when the server put it down. My wife's Alfredo "tasted like mueller's with a jar sauce". Sadly, she got the fish special the time before and it sucked too. Anyway, we unfortunately had to ask the chef for more drinks because we had 0 refills after apps and salads. I wasn't going to add a review but we realized the day after that A) we had asked to take the kids' salads to go because they wouldn't eat them, and we never received them (good lunch the next day), and B) garlic knots are free when you get entree's and we were charged, despite having 5 entree's. This was an off night for them, but it's been a bit touch as go before too. Hope they turn it around. read more

We have been going to Roma's for years now and it consistently serves the best baked eggplant parmigiana in town. The waitstaff are really nice people who definitely want your dining experience to be enjoyable. There's an excellent variety of of traditional Italian dishes, and also very tasty pizza, so everyone can find something on the menu. You can dine outside, which we have often done, protected from any light rain by the big umbrellas. The desserts are first rate, especially the homemade tartufo ice cream treats. We eat here a couple of times a month. Food is good and prices are reasonable. The spaghetti with meatballs was good today, although I usually get veal parm. I don't know what's up with the listing for this place but Roma Italian Restaurant is open, I ate there last night. I had a stromboli and some others had the buffalo chicken salad...both very good. Their marinara is actually very good, so I'll have to try another pizza there to see if they have improved any. They installed a new bar area but only have their beer and wine license right now. Other than that, the service was attentive and friendly, the prices reasonable and it was a pretty good meal. read more

We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday night and was seated right away, but by 7:00 the restaurant was full. They currently are seating at 100%. Food was very good. Highly recommend the zucchini appetizer and garlic knots. HOPE was our waitress and she did a very good job despite being very busy. Would come again if in the area. read more

Tried takeout pizza here this evening. Had the white pizza with one topping. The topping was sparse but the cheese and crust were delightful. Enjoyed the antipasto salad and the Italian dressing was perfect. Would have liked to try their wings but they were out. In lieu thereof, we ordered chicken tenders - meh. All in, I would go back. Classic mom-and-pop, non-chain Italian - possibly the best in the Aiken area. It's not "family style", but the place is full of the familiar - from smiling, prompt wait staff, to decent, enjoyable food. As with the other reviews, the outside of this place is a bit to be desired - @ the end of a strip mall with little description of what's inside. But that just adds to the diamond-in-the-rough feel once inside. I ordered pasta and garlic knots over a couple of beers. Garlic knots were physically a bit tough (microwaved perhaps?), but the buttered garlic (do I call it a...) sauce was rich and suave. The pasta was definitely cooked-to-order and the plate came out nearly too-hot-to-touch. The sauce wasn't "olive-garden"-esque, but it wasn't exactly what'd I'd homestyle either (can of tomatoes and can of paste). It WAS tomato-y, and intensely cheese-y (sauce is dependent on dish, check the menu), but relatively light and breathable. To make it a "real" Italian place, they do have Moretti on tap. Wine selection is kind of meh, but it's Aiken, what do you expect? If you're heading to Travinia for Italian in Aiken and haven't been to Roma yet, try something new and get a feel for this hidden gem.
