Very Disappointing Customer Service Experience at Pizza Central in Evans, GA I recently placed an online order for my son and me from Pizza Central. My order was scheduled to be ready at 6:56 PM, and I arrived at approximately 6:55 PM to pick it up. When I walked in, there was one customer ahead of me checking out. After she left, the employee turned away from the register and began doing other things. I waited patiently, expecting someone to acknowledge me and ask if I was there for a pickup. Two other employees approached the register, but neither one acknowledged me. About five minutes later, another customer walked in, went to the bar, and sat down. The same employee who had helped the customer before me immediately acknowledged him and gave him a menu. At that point, I finally said, "Excuse me, ma'am, I'm here to pick up an order." Another employee came from the back and acknowledged a different customer who had walked in after me. She then went to the back and brought that customer his pizza order. Meanwhile, I was still standing there waiting for my order and wondering why I had been completely overlooked. Finally, a third young lady came out with my order. At that point, the employee who had been at the register asked me, "Have you been helped?" I replied, "FINALLY." She smiled and walked away. I took my order and left. Unfortunately, this experience left me extremely disappointed. It wasn't the wait for my food that bothered me--it was the lack of acknowledgment and basic customer service. A simple "Hello, we'll be right with you" would have made a huge difference. I have no problem being patient when I'm acknowledged and know what's going on. But standing there while employees help customers who arrived after me, without anyone acknowledging me, is frustrating and unacceptable. Based on this experience, I have no intention of returning to Pizza Central in Evans. I hope management takes this review seriously and uses it as an opportunity to address customer-service expectations with the staff read more

I ordered the veggie calzone. Mostly bread and undercooked , minimal fillings and the marinara was watered down and bland.

This place was tucked away in the corner of the shopping plaza and easily missed if you are only traveling on the main roads. I am glad we stopped here since we've been looking for a good sit down pizza place, this place reminds me of places from the 90s but with better quality. Tons of space for various part sizes and the full bar was really nice to see! Our family got a mix of food to try out: pizzas, baked spaghetti, Philly sandwich, kids chicken nuggets. Everything was phenomenal and was perfectly portioned compared to the price. The waitress we had was super sweet and came by to fill up our drinks quickly, we had no issues from the moment we walked in to the time we left fat and happy. We used to eat here a couple times a month, but it's been quite some time since we started going elsewhere. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great anymore. Well, by chance we decided to give it a shot tonight and wow! They've renovated, redecorated, and the food, definitely upgraded. The bruschetta was soooo good. The bread was fresh and tender, not hard and crunchy like before. And the tomatoes full of flavor! The calzone was also way better than it used to be. This past Friday evening: Told them our party of ten would be there 6 PM during afternoon call. They said could accommodate but took no reservations. First of group arrived at ~5:45 and we said they could split us 5/5. Hostess said would be no problem but could take 45 minutes. We gathered and waited. At 6:45 PM we saw many large tables and booths being filled by walk ins. Hostess came by and said another 45 minutes. This was my first time trying this place and it was just ok. The appetizers tasted like they were from the frozen section of the grocery store. They didn't have any flavor and were pretty bland. Service was very disappointing tonight from start to end. Drink was spilt after asking for a garnish. Waited 5 to 10 minutes for the 2nd drink. Waited 45 to get food that I never received because the person cooking was having problems. Not once did a manager come over with any concerns. Pizza Central is THE best locally owned pizza restaurant. It even rivals most big chain pizza establishments. I haven't had the chance to try anything other than their salads and pizza but what I have tried so far has been outstanding. The first time we visited I was hooked by what I ordered and have had a hard time ordering anything else. Their 9" pizzas are perfect for lunch and a great option when your table can't agree on toppings. The crust is crispy, buttery, and flavorful. My boyfriend had their baked wings that were surprisingly crispy and served piping hot. Service has always been great and everyone is very accommodating, always coming by to make sure that we're okay. They have a great selection of beer and a large bar. Pizza Central is a great place to enjoy a perfect pie with a large group or just by yourself at the bar. Cannot recommend them enough. read more

The staff was polite. The beer, while i waited, was cold and delicious. The pizza was outstanding! The chef salad was great, too! The reviews were iffy, but I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. The pizza was thin, as asked and definitely hand-tossed, not pulled from a pack. The crust was delicious and the toppings were plentiful!! It was DELICIOUS! It cost a bit more, but it was worth it. If they are consistent, this'll be my go-to spot. Fingers crossed. read more

Service: I ordered takeout from Pizza Central for the first time. I usually order pastas from Olive Garden which is not high end Italian Cuisine but is solid and reliable and of decent value. Pizza Central, by comparison, is not. First off, the app said my order would be ready in 50 mins. When I showed up at the time given it wasn't ready. Second, I should've known there would be issues when the manager/server insisted that I take everything out of the bag and check my order. I said, well I don't want to unpack everything. She said, well we don't usually do it, but the boys in back are supposed to check it. Then she proceeded to open everything, wings, 2 pasta dishes, and pizza. The pasta dishes were baked and covered with cheese so we assumed they were correct even though we couldn't see anything. The food: The screwed up the pasta order. My daughter ordered Alfredo with chicken, broccoli and mushrooms. I ordered baked ziti with meatball spinach and mushroom in marinara. They doubled my daughter's order and skipped mine. The pasta was cold and bland and the chicken was cubes of processed chicken and the veggies were undercooked. The Alfredo sauce tasted bland. It made Stouffers look great it was so bad. The wings were not appetizing. Undercooked and again bland. Very poor food. The pizza was average at best, but you can do much better at Your Pie or Mellow. Overall, this place was a rip off and I won't be back. Surprised they are even in business, but not really because Augusta doesn't have much competition in this type of food and they have a bar. Went to enjoy some pizza and did not have a good experience - service was atrocious, first had to wait to be seated for a while since a whole section was shut down due to a lack of servers and no handicap accessible seating until a booth was available - it seems they are always hiring; not sure why they can't keep workers!? Once we were seated took another 10-15 minutes to order and took another 20 minutes for our pizza - hardly no follow up and poor attitude - felt like we were a burden and not a paying customer. When we asked a server about a refill, she said she wasn't our server! I barely got a refill on my drink. I really had to bite my tongue! The manager was server and bar tender - stayed at the bar mostly. Also had to ask a couple times for a to go box. As I said, not a good experience overall - pizza was eatable, but a little on the crispy side. Was not a friendly or inviting atmosphere! Not sure if we'll go back - will have to give it some time. I love their salads more than anything, y'all. They're so good and fresh and the dressing is delish! The friggatoni is a close second, because it's make your own pasta... you can't go wrong. The wings are good, and the pizza is as well. Now, I don't know who makes the cheesecakes, but I can tell she does them with love. The girls who work there are sweet and do what they can to make sure you have what you need. It's set up like a bar, and if you want your child brews, they have plenty. This was our first visit to Pizza Central and it didn't disappoint. Here are the reasons for my five stars: 1. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. 2. The server (forgot her name...the seating chart as we walked out looked like it said "Rose" - she was a teenager or early 20's) did a great job. She had several tables and handled them well. Great job! 3. The price was very affordable, especially with their lunch special. We are a family of 5, with 3 teenagers (2 with us on this visit), so eating out can get expensive. This provides us a new option when the family wants pizza or Italian. One critique. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, but the faucets in the men's bathroom have corrosion on them which looks bad and gives a bad look to the restaurant. It's probably a simple fix that would make the restroom and restaurant look more professional and like attention is given to even the small details of cleanliness. It didn't take away from the good food and good experience, so I'm still giving 5 stars. read more

Pizza is great! I have never eaten inside, only pick up orders, but they've never gotten the order wrong. Cheesy pie is the best!

We have been to pizza central numerous times and always loved it. Waitresses were great as well as food. However, the last couple times we went we were very disappointed with the service. Our food was great as usual, however, we were charged incorrectly on ticket. I ordered one thing and was charged for something else. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she seemed to not want to hear what I had to say and tried to argue with me that I did not order that, but I had two other people with me and they heard my order. I never order a what I was charged for when I go here. I chose not to argue with her and just paid for an incorrect ticket. My friend who was with us had the same type of experience the last time she went here as well. She ordered one thing but received something else and waitress was very rude about it. While living in Augusta, I never knew of Pizza Central even though my apartment was pretty close. My MIL chose this place because it was easy to get to and they wanted to try something new. Pizza Central is located next to the Big Lots in Evans, so it's easy to miss if you're not really looking for it. We had maybe a 15-20 minute wait on a Saturday night which isn't terrible. We all sat at the bar and ordered a couple of beers to wait. Once seated, we were greeted by a super friendly server. I wish I remembered her name because she was all too pleasant! Husbter and I shared the jalapeno poppers, large greek salad to split, and a Delux pizza. Everything came out reasonably quick. The portions were definitely enough to feed two adults and then some. The jalapeno poppers were ok. Nothing super exciting and taste more like cheesy green bell peppers. The Greek salad was also average, but portion was huge. Pizza was delicious with a slightly thinner crust. It was only 13.99 because it was the Saturday night special! What a deal! I recommend this place if you want some decent pizza, but nothing super doughy like Mellow Mushroom. Also the portions and price point makes it worth the trip. Hit them up! read more

Just stopped in because Marco's had an hour wait. Boy oh boy!!! What a nice surprise. We were seated right away. The server was sweet as could be. Not chatty or condescending. Now, about the food, outstanding. The salad was fresh . It is really obvious when tomatoes have been refrigerated, theirs were not. The Bruschetta was great. I made the decision to dine at Pizza Central solely based on the recommendation of Joel C. and maybe thumbing through a few pictures. I had high expectations, I wanted it to be good, I hoped it was good and what I experienced was a little better than just good. It was amazing. I ordered the personal pizza topped with peppers ham and pineapple. The pie was done exactly the way I like my pizza- crust not too thin, loads of cheese and fresh topping. I like that the peppers are a chopped blend of green and red bell peppers. The pizza was perfectly executed and I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. Noteworthy is the service I received, my server was courteous, patience and informative. Kudos. Since I was only in Evans on business it is likely I will never eat here again. Rest assured I will make every adjustment to my travel plans to facilitate a second visit as long as I am close enough to Evans. Pizza Central makes great pizza at a great price.
