If you read my reviews. It's all in or all out. That's why we leave them so no sugar coating here. I also read others reviews so I can watch for things. All the negative seems to be over "To Go" or service in the restaurant. I have never gotten anything to go so I can't comment. BUT that being said...I stopped in for lunch. My first time here. I let my server Jenny recommend a sandwich and the beer to go with. So you may think how hard is that? Well, considering the sandwich was WAY more than I expected.. I had to leave a review. The pic is my togo box and does not do this sandwich justice. Buttery bread, Savory ham, melted Swiss, Roasted tomatoes, Onions that were so caramelized that I would swear it was bacon jam and toss some Banana Peppers on it. YUM!!!! Thanks Jenny, you were spot on and I will be back OFTEN. Yea y'all I am that excited over a sandwich.

We had 5 in our group and we were treated like family! We were seated in the main dining area and we couldn't see the Braves game. So they moved us to the bar with smiles so we could see the game! Ryan was our server and he was polite and attentive! We all enjoyed our Greek salads with their homemade Italian dressing, loaded with fresh crisp romaine, sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers and sprinkled heavily with feta cheese. So yummy! Then we ordered a Large Mr. Big pizza, thin crust, and a Spinach-Feta calzone. All was mouth watering and delicious! Great place to go with friends!

    Soggy, nasty pizza wasn't cooked

Awful. Called in order and it is inedible. It is raw and soggy. Horrible pizza and expensive.

Honestly I really wanted to try a calzone or a pizza but I've had limited time on my hands so I went ahead and just got dessert. I like to say I wish we have more places that serves the zeppole in Augusta especially at italian restaurants. I'm glad I got this one. I thought about trying a cheesecake but I've been looking at that price I've got better at just getting it store-bought like at Walmart. But I wasn't disappointed in the zeppole. Good service and good food.

After a long break from Pizza Joint post disappointing visit, we were looking for a dog friendly place to dine and decided to try this place again. It was a solidly good choice! The patio is spacious and yes it's dog friendly. Service was very good . I had a Greek salad & cheese calzone and asked for it to be cooked light. The salad was really cold & fresh. Oh we also had some garlic bites- the marinara was outstanding. My calzone was perfectly cooked and filled to the seam with cheesy goodness. We were very pleased and can't wait to return.

    Amazing pizza

I ordered a make your own pizza. Just pepperoni, mozzarella and extra sauce.it was over the top amazing. Soo much flavor. Just look at this pie. The dough is so flavorful just not a glob of dough and not too doughy. I strongly recommend going to the restaurant if you haven't been.

Celebratory pizza with the newly weds!

I was really excited to try this pizza and unfortunately it was disgusting! We paid $52 for a pizza that was thrown in the trash.

Review response: Wow…read moreCliff, your response speaks volumes as to your loyalty to customers you know have been loyal to you. You don't get to change the narrative. If you were to review the video of our transaction last night, you would have quickly noticed, my husband had no reason to hide anything. We were not aware of your strict policies of bringing in anything from the outside and would not have done it if it had not been for a medical emergency. We didn't call ADA, just called you out for the rude way voiced your request. A video review and customers in your establishment can quickly confirm my husband put the can down on your counter when speaking with your hostess and only picked it up to sit and wait for a table to be cleaned. You then proceeded tell us to leave, you did not accept outside trash and you sold refreshments there. I would have had much more respect if you could have genuinely apologized for the error, which despite your claim, is not what you did yesterday or in your response below. Thank you for your input. Original review: We overlooked poor customer service for years because we loved the pizza at Apizza Di Napoli. Last night changed that. My husband is a Type 1 diabetic and his blood sugar was 70 and dropping rapidly just before leaving forthe restaurant. He drank a Sprite while I drove us to treat the low, and to provide time to be seated and to order food while avoiding a medical emergency. We unfortunately brought the can inside with him. Even after we explained the medical situation, the owner refused to let us enter or seat us with the can, which was now empty as there was a wait to be seated, and showed no compassion or understanding. In fact, he was downright rude about it. We were weekly customers, ordering take out so frequently that they didn't have to ask our name when we picked it up but after this experience, we won't be back. Great pizza doesn't make up for poor treatment of loyal customers.

We had one order in mind until we spotted the lunch specials and went for that - it is a really good deal. Two slices of pizza and a small salad for 10$. What we didn't know if that the two pieces of pizza were ginormous! We could have easily done the one piece w/salad, but as it happened, we had dinner with the leftovers. The pizza is quite good, thin crust got nicely crispy and super flavorful. The pepperoni was good - not cup char good but pretty darn good. The small caesar was good - it was perfectly dressed so we kind of wondered why there was extra dressing on the side - but no big deal. We sat outside, and our server was fabulous - attentive without being overly so. It was quite a mellow lunch (pun intended!)

First, I want to say that I genuinely like Mellow Mushroom. I have had great food and excellent…read moreservice at both the Hilton Head and Asheville locations. Unfortunately, when it comes to the Aiken, SC location, the experience continues to fall short. I have given this location multiple chances, and at this point, shame on me for expecting this visit to be different. We waited approximately 25-30 minutes to be seated, which I can understand when a restaurant is busy. What I cannot understand is being seated and then sitting at the table for more than 20 minutes without a single employee acknowledging us. No greeting, no waters, and no drink order. I finally went back to the host stand, and a few minutes later the host came over and offered to take our drink order. At that point, we had invested nearly an hour between waiting for a table and waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Having managed multiple restaurants during and after college, what concerned me most wasn't simply that a server was behind. Restaurants get busy. Servers get overwhelmed. People call out. Mistakes happen. The bigger issue was the apparent lack of active floor management. A restaurant manager should be managing the tempo of the restaurant, not simply reacting when a customer finally complains. A good manager should be circulating through the dining room, watching ticket times, monitoring newly seated tables, checking on guests, helping run drinks and food, clearing tables when necessary, and immediately recognizing when a server is overwhelmed. If a table has been sitting for 10-15 minutes without being greeted, management should notice it before the customer has to walk to the host stand. This is especially important in a pizza restaurant. Pizza itself takes time to prepare and cook, so the front-of-house operation should be designed to get guests greeted, drinks delivered, and orders entered quickly. If the kitchen is backed up, tell the customer. Most reasonable people will accept a longer wait when someone communicates with them. What frustrates customers is sitting there wondering whether anyone even knows they exist. Servers also need to work their sections efficiently. In restaurant terminology, every trip should have a purpose. If you're walking through your section, scan your tables. Pre-bus a plate. Refill a drink. Drop off napkins. Check on the table you just served. Pick something up on the way back. Run another server's food or drinks when possible. Good service is about constantly prioritizing multiple small tasks rather than completing one task, returning to the server station, and then deciding what to do next. When a restaurant gets slammed, teamwork becomes even more important. Hosts, servers, bartenders, food runners, bussers, and managers should be working together. A guest shouldn't have to care whose "table" they are sitting at. If you see a customer who needs something, either help them or immediately communicate it to the person responsible. The same applies to management. A manager who sees the floor struggling should be in the middle of it--running food, greeting tables, helping the host stand, filling drinks, clearing tables, and directing traffic. Leadership means recognizing where the bottleneck is and putting yourself where you are most needed. In my current career, time, accountability, teamwork, situational awareness, and taking initiative are extremely important. Obviously, restaurant service isn't life or death, but the basic principles of a high-performing team are surprisingly similar: know your responsibilities, pay attention to what's happening around you, communicate, help your teammates, anticipate problems, and take ownership when something isn't working. Customers are routinely expected to tip around 20% for good service, and I have no problem doing that when the service warrants it. But with that expectation should come a reasonable standard of service--starting with simply acknowledging a customer after they have been seated. I like Mellow Mushroom and know from visiting other locations that the company is capable of providing a much better experience. That's what makes the repeated problems at the Aiken location so disappointing. This location doesn't need employees to move at a frantic pace. It needs attentive servers, teamwork, communication, urgency, and managers who actively manage the floor. When those fundamentals are in place, customers notice. Unfortunately, when they're absent, customers notice that too.
