First impression of the place is the friendly faces that greet you and the fun atmosphere. Always skeptical about trying new spaces but this turned out great. I'm pretty picky about my pizza and this check most boxes for me. I went with a traditional Margherita pizza and it was good. It actually exceeded my expectations considering what you can get in the area. I wish the "undercarriage" of the pie was a bit more cooked and crispy. Also, the sauce was a little underwhelming but still decent nonetheless. We had the oven baked brownie à la mode and it was okay at best. Brownie was really dry and they didn't give you much ice cream to go with it. I would avoid it in all honesty. I will definitely come back and try a different pie and see how it compares to first go around. Okay update. So I've returned 3 days after my first experience and it was way better. My wife and I asked for well done on our pizzas and it was PERFECT. I had the spicy hot honey chicken pie and my wife had the bulgogi. They were absolutely delicious. I can't wait to have them again. Let me tell you, this place has it figured out. They offer several chicken sandwiches, all made with chicken tenders. While I usually prefer a classic chicken breast patty, these were absolutely delicious--and from a cost and efficiency standpoint, using tenders just makes sense. Both sandwiches my husband and I ordered were fantastic, and we'll definitely be back. Our server was phenomenal--one of the nicest we've had in this area, and we've had plenty of great ones. We stopped by the Ironwood Tavern for a late lunch around 2:00ish. There were half a dozen patrons and we we seated right away. Our server Liz promptly took our drink order and was super attentive throughout our meal. Ambience: the wood paneling and soft lighting makes for a calming atmosphere even though there are at least eight TVs on none of them were Fox so that was good. All the s were all muted but there was a pretty loud radio being played over the speakers. I decided to overlook it once the food arrived! I ordered off the May special menu and got a shrimp po-boy with a side salad. Mom ordered fish (mahi mahi) and chips but subbed the chips for broccoli. As you can see from the pictures the portions were huge! The po-boy was absolutely fantastic. I counted a dozen shrimp. There was some buffalo sauce on it but it didn't overwhelm and let the sweet shrimp be the star. Mom's fish was cooked well, moist and flaky and the broccoli a perfect tender crisp. A table nearby ordered a delicious looking dessert but we were too full to even flirt with the idea. Looking forward to going back for one of their fire cooked pizzas. read more

Came here for lunch in October. They were doing a special octoberfest menu that sounded great. I got the schnitzel, mac and cheese and giant pretzel. Everything was delicious. I've been to Ironwood numerous times and every time I am always pleased. The staff is kind and attentive. I try to not go during peek time because it can get really crowded and gets a little loud (it's a tavern so understandable!) but regardless it's worth the wait. The food is always amazing, the specials are always unique. I highly recommend the cobb salad, the burgers, the pizza and the fries! literally everything. We ordered the Tavern Shrimp appetizer and deep dish Pepperoni pizza. The Shrimp never came out until after the pizza and only then when I asked for them. Waitress forgot to put order in, she did comp the shrimp. Then we asked for mushrooms to be added to our pizza and we're told that we can't add anything to pizzas...makes me wonder if all the pizzas are pre-made by a vendor and then they are just cooked at the Ironwood. I chose to get mine without the onions or house sauce. This sandwich is crunchy perfection from the buttered toast, to the bacon down to the perfectly cooked burger! Depending on where you live this place is far. It's inside a shopping plaza with Publix and a lot of other restaurants and shops. We got seated outside but it wasn't super hot or anything. The menu had decent choices mostly burgers wings pizza. They also have specials for the month. I got the hibachi burger which was tasty but a bit messy. Very poor customer service. I called ahead and they confirmed to me dogs were permitted in their patio. After 5 minutes of sitting down, they told me they changed their mind and asked us to leave, despite our dog causing no issues and very politely laying down next to us the entire time. I swear I wrote a review for Ironwood, I probably raved about Brussel sprouts and pizza since both of those items make me so happy. I digress, it's gone, like the brussel sprouts on the Ironwood Menu. I come for the pizza, though there are certainly other worthwhile items on the menu. On our most recent visit, I had the Pepperoni Diablo, and trust me, you won't miss the tomato sauce. My husband had the cheese bites appetizer, and I know what I'm going to say next is controversial: I hate cheese stick appetizers. Now, hear me out! 9/10 times they are frozen, and exactly the same at every restaurant. Heck, half the time they are still cool in the middle. Y'all- that's gross, safe your calories. However, I tried the cheese bites at Ironwood, and they were actually quite tasty. For his entree he had the September special Steakhouse burger, which he said was out of this world. Bottom line, Ironwood is doing basics, casual bar food and doing it right. I like Ironwood a lot and think their biggest problem is their location. They need more space! Our 25 minute wait was actually an 1:05 wait.... When we visited I'd recently had a foot surgery and was wearing a walking boot. The manager took that into account when deciding which table to give us- he told me that he figured a high top would be difficult for me. It is really the small things! We went to ironwood tonight and had dinner. Service was ok but their special was not. I ordered the pork and hoppin John special. Usually their specials are pretty good but not tonight. The fried pork chops were way overcooked and the "hoppin John black eyed peas" were canned blaceye peas, no rice included. There was nothing hoppin John about them. The best thing on my plate was the stewed collards. I would have included a picture but my phone was dead. True disappointment. read more

The burger was a pretty good burger but for some reason the place decided to season it with what only I could describe as a grill masters seasoning. It was so over powering all I could taste was that. There wasn't really any blue cheese taste just the seasoning. I prefer crispy fries and these were just not it. They have a September menu with Cheesecakes and it was only ok, one of them was Captain Crunch Peanutbutter and Flipz Chocolate Pretzel. We tried this on a Saturday evening during the Masters. We got there around 530, so the round was still going. We were able to be seated right away. By the time we left around 730, the place was very busy. I ordered the sweet and spicy wings. They were very good. The side salad was good size and good. I had the blueberry cheesecake and my friend had the strawberry cheesecake. The service was very good and it was great place to watch the round. I would definitely go back. read more

Been here a few times now. It's pretty close to home, and one of my favorite places for a burger. I usually have the Tavern Burger with truffle fries. Please note: These truffle fries are pure love! Eat'em with the truffle aioli or beer cheese. Both are super scrumptious!!! This burger is 2 or 3 meals on its own for me. I've eaten it with the fried Mac and Cheese that comes on top and without it. Sometimes I take the fried Mac and Cheese off the burger and eat it later as a yummy snack! I've also had they regular Mac and Cheese-It's delicious! Overall, the atmosphere here is light, the staff attentive, and the food is great!! I haven't had anything I don't like yet. The Bulgogi pizza is #1 on my list to try on my next cheat day. I like that the specials menu changes every 2 weeks. There's also happy hour from 2-6 and 9-close M-F! This place is kinda small, and it gets pretty busy in the evenings so try to go early. Check your takeouts for accuracy. read more
