Pros: The young lady training admitted fault and apologized for misunderstanding that we wanted to make both burgers a combo. Sweet tea Cons: The white trash manager who apologized for double charging and then blaming all in one breath. She had a hard time giving us our $3.50 back. Since you didn't want to argue with me as you said then I will state on here what I was trying to say happened. We wanted to make both burgers a meal when we realized it was only $.50 cents more to do so and that is what we agreed to pay for but your new employee in training never repeated the final order and when your window opens the air blows so it's hard to hear her because she is talking inside the window not facing us. My husband even leaned in to tell her we could not hear her. She even admitted when we first pointed out she double charged that she knew that but once the order is placed she can't take it back. That's why I stated we do not want double onion rings and would like our money back. I am sorry you all are not busy and we were the only car in the drive-thru with the parking lot empty but I should have asked for my entire refund instead of getting the crap we were served. You should never as a business allow a customer to feel fearful about asking for their money back. You are probably the reason why Gary's is short staffed and hiring Ma'am! We have never been there before and we will never go back. What makes it worse we waited 15 minutes to get our dry/watered down flavorless burgers (I swear on everything this has nothing to do with poor service the burgers were HORRIBLE) and fries were cold/dry flavorless along with the double charged onion rings. They were just frozen school lunch onions rings. I am a traveling nurse and have eating all over the country with poor service but I have never just thrown food away. Both my granddaughter and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger - she ordered hers meat, bacon, cheese and bun, but mine was fully dressed and the burgers were DRY. Have been going here for 2 years every other month. Have taken our vets for lunch but not now since service and burnt food in on thd menu. It took two times for our food to come out burnt. Great local place. It's not a big secret that I love their biscuits. What you should also know is the hamburger is no slouch and the other "star" here are the chicken tenders! Came in to eat with my kids and grandmother, we were greeted rather rudely by a girl w red hair. She made us feel very rushed. Once our order was placed and paid for at 1:46pm it proceeded to take 48 minutes to be brought to us after watching multiple people come and go. When we did ask about our food there was a shorter woman who had a rude snappy attitude, she stated to me "it'll be out here just as soon as I get back there and bag and tag it." I told her it wasn't to go and she rolled her eyes while walking off. After that point it took another 12 minutes before the food was brought and our meals were stacked into two baskets instead of each in their own. Picked up several burgers, fries and chicken tenders through the drive thru. This was my first time at Gary's. The burgers were freshly made, good taste. My only issue was that they forgot the bacon on one burger and the other burger was to have lettuce, it did but only a very tiny amount. Chicken tenders were good. Breaded but not too thick. I saw some of the reviews from others about slow service but like any restaurant it is a hit and miss depending on when you get there and what day. I went there on a Monday night at around 700 and I was out in about 15 minutes. I had to admit I thought it was closed as there was only one car in the parking lot. Once I went in the people working looked as if they were just waiting for someone to come in and place an order. This was great as my food came out hot and quick. Now on to the food. I went with a hot dog and bacon cheeseburger. OK I am ashamed but I also got fries and yes I know it is plenty of food but it was all I ate that day. I am trying to justify all my food choices to make myself feel better. The burger was plentiful and I will say it was made the old school way of using the hand to pat the meat into patties. The vegetables on the burger were fresh and it is a rarity that I eat tomatoes because they always make burgers watery but not in this case. I added bacon and also and it was flavorful and not that crunchy bacon that crumbles as you bite into it. It had a bit of chew but not so much that you had to pull your head away and the burger away to get the bacon to separate. The hot dog was ok but nowhere as tasteful as the burger. The price was very reasonable and I feel with the taste, portion, and real food preparation vice some frozen processed items it was a deal. Last but not least I wish I could remember her name but it is great when the person taking my order asked if any of their discounts could be applied with my order as she went through the list. A nice touch that is so easy to do but so rarely done these days. If you want some old school burgers take yourself to Gary's. Purchased burger with combo package and an unsweet tea. I want to say the burger, fries/onion ring combo and unsweet tea was just great, I loved it all. Staff were very pleasant - trying to give my dog bacon. I respectively declined as I believe pork is not good for dogs, gives them pancreatitis. On the downside at the drive through it says extra 3 bucks odd for the combo, now I thought for that money I was getting a drink and fries included with the burger. Apparently not as the whole purchase came to 10 bucks odd with tax. Now the food was good but there are a lot of other options for burgers that would cost half that price like cook-out. So I would say it wasn't really value for money and when I see the words combo I automatically assume the drink is included so that wasn't that great. Would I go again - oh yes I would go there again as the product was good but 3 stars for the cost. Additional constructive comment - there appears to be no trash cans outside, so if you do eat your meal in the parking lot you have no way to dispose of the trash unless you take it inside. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place since we moved nearby. We finally went and was not disappointed. The food was excellent, hot and fresh. No complaints there. Last night, my wife and I decided to give Gary's a try. She ordered a 1/3 lb Cheeseburger Combo and I had the 2/3 lb Double Cheeseburger Combo. We both thought that the burgers were delicious and cooked very well. For a negative, they could have added more fries to our baskets. For a 3 dollar up charge to make it a combo, they could have added more fries. That being said, the place was very clean. They display their 100 A rating for their Health Inspection right as you walk in. The folks that work there are extremely nice. I thought this little restaurant is a good piece of Americana and it is good to know that it is locally owned and operated. It reminded me of those nice small town restaurants in the Midwest. I mean the food is greasy, but it is what is. Don't go here thinking you are going to get gluten free or vegetarian options, not happening. Best burger in Augusta. They serve hand-made patties with fresh toppings (never had brown lettuce or a soggy tomato on my burger). I also really like their chicken tenders. I've been going to one of the Gary's hamburgers locations on a weekly basis since I discovered them a few months ago. I keep coming back for the burgers and chicken tenders. Gary's Hamburgers makes some great burgers, but I really like the Chilli Slaw Dogs, and Catfish. Food always takes fresh, and although they try to get the food out fast, please be a little patient. They do cook to order and it isn't just thrown together. The prices are a bit higher than other places but I think it boils down to "You get what you pay for", and the quality with this food is top notch.
