Tiramisu dressed up for our special night out

We went to Luigi's for our anniversary and we were glad we did! Service was friendly and unrushed, the place was intimate and lively, and everything we ate was delicious! Established in 1949, Luigi's is family owned and serves Italian and Greek fare. Everything tasted homemade and the seasonings were clearly family recipes. We started off with Spanakopita which arrived hot and tasty. This was followed by sharing a cup of Avgolemono Soup. The soup had a unique flair and was delightful. With our soup, we also had their Italian toast, which was fantastic. We both ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. This too was wonderful. The sauce on the pasta was so unusual and refreshing. The chicken was not smothered with cheese and the batter and chicken shone through and through. The portions were just right, even with appetizers. For dessert, we had Tiramisu. This too was clearly a family recipe. It was sweet, light, and enjoyable! Luigi's was definitely a highlight of our visit to Augusta. They know what good food and hospitality are all about. We highly recommend them!

Look for the black awning at the lower end of Broad Street! An Augusta institution.

Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A Love this Greek family run business with 3rd generation in Augusta over 70+ years I. The same location! Wow!!! Service always welcoming and friendly and always feel like my Augusta familiy when I come home when eating here. Its a tradition to always stop in after being away years. Tonight. I want to mention the especially delicious marinara. Loved the garlicky marinara sauce this go round! I just had to get some extra on the side to dip my warm bread. Tonight was extra delicious. Everything was cooked to perfections... albeit, remind me to get romaine versus iceberg lettuce... Get a caesar salad and ask for tomatoes... And ask...so they have anchovies?! My Greek pork was grilled to perfection moist and tastily balanced sauce of lemon pepper and olive oil tonight. I wanted to lick my plate! The eggplant parmesan was perfectly fried crisoy with the marinara sauce. Ahhh...and remind me Penelope makes me a mean dirty Hnedeicks Gin martini with pepperocinni!!! Always coming back for Augusta for delicious Greek Italian nostalgia!!! I'm a Fan!!!

This was my first visit. It won't be the last. They took our number so we could walk around downtown while we waited for our table. We get the call and we're off. We get seated and the server came by to let us know she would be right with us. She spoke with us about different bar offerings (only downside- no bar menu). We order our drinks; we order our meals. And even though we didn't have room for dessert, we ordered Baklava to go! The restaurant is small but very busy. And now that I have tasted it, I see why they stay busy!

I just love this place so much

This place is such a great spot for food. From its Pasta to Even its Mozzarella sticks, its all just so good! The service was a little off with my order but it was still pretty fast! The atmosphere was very warm and from all the smells in the air, it was just amazing! Thanks!

If you want an amazing Greek-Italian fusion meal, with a classic ambiance and friendly atmosphere, look no further. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Augusta. When we eat here- we don't speak, but only because the food is so good. To drink, try the basket wine, it's a delicious red that comes by the bottle and is perfect to share. Try anything on the menu, but if you want some recs, here's what we get: baked Greek chicken with rice pilaf (You will dream about this chicken which is the granddaddy of rotisserie. You get half a chicken which is marinated for hours and fall off the bone delicious.) , and a Luigi's combo pizza. We usually split the 2 dishes so we get a taste of each. We have a nut allergy so the only dessert we have tried is the tiramisu, but it was the perfect finisher.

AMAZING service and food. You cannot beat this when craving Italian! We will definitely be back!

Very bad "toasted" ravioli. This is definitely NOT toasted ravioli.

I grew up in Augusta and remember Luigi's not being super delicious but decided to give it another shot this past weekend. It is absolutely worse than I recalled. Their sauce, which I heard my server tell another table isn't very good by saying "I don't care for our red sauce very much," is like the Italian version of sweet tea. There has to be 3 cups of sugar per batch. It's horrendous. We started with the "toasted ravioli," which were an abomination. I LOOOOVE toasted ravioli. Top 10 dish in my book. These were not that. Whereas a proper toasted ravioli is egg washed and dipped in seasoned breadcrumbs before frying, this was apparently dipped in pancake batter. Topped with that sweet sauce, it was inedible. We had 4 diners and 5 ravioli. Never in my life have I seen people try to convince others at the table to eat the last toasted ravioli. It was sent back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the "pizzas" were no more of an improvement. I can't quite describe the crust, but it was crunchy with zero flavor. Someone at the table put it best by saying "this is like bowling alley pizza." The sauce and low grade parmesan did not help at all. As for the decor, let's just say the carpet looks a minimum of 6 years old and the place seemingly has received no love at all in the last 30 years. I would be terrified to see the state of the kitchen and walk-ins. It's not good people. Just because something is old, doesn't mean it's a classic.

Their platter option comes with rice and pita along with a small container of sauce. Their meats are about 7oz per kebob, so the $17.50 chicken Kebob is a single kebob with a hefty portion, but not a cheap cost. They are also flexible on substituting one kebob for another, especially if you get the mixed platter, but there is a surcharge. The meats are grilled freshly on the spot and very moist. The rice isn't dry and the balance of everything comes together well. Food isn't greasy or heavy, especially if you're cautious on getting the cleaner options like chicken kebob and rice. Shishkebab always seem to have some special to take advantage of. For example, their Father's Day special is a 4 meat mixed fajitas for $25. The interior design is quite unique with a small shop area on the side with Turkish chocolates and desserts for sale. Most of the restaurant looks like any normal restaurant with booths and tables, but another corner has been furnished for more of a traditional Turkish look. The furnishing makes it look like a hookah lounge; looks quite relaxing to dine sitting there. They also have unique Turkish weapons and dolls furnished along the walls giving this place a unique authentic vibe. Overall, the food is not heavy and pretty healthy if you get basic stuff like chicken & rice and not go too heavy on the sauces/sides. I really enjoyed eating their food and certainly will be back. Highly recommend this place as they are definitely one of the best Mediterranean food restaurants in Augusta.

House special pizza (4/5): This is their special pizza with a good mix of meat/vegetable toppings. The crust itself is interesting.
