Attica did a great job on my home. They came in on a Sunday and gave me the quote and on Wednesday (3 days later) they came in and completed the job in one day (about 9 hours to do the whole job!). After the job everything worked as it should so they were very careful in the attic. Afterwards they cleaned and vacuumed the path to the attic. We invited Attica over for an estimate on May 2. We knew our attic was in pretty bad shape because we've owned the home for 10 years now and have never even attempted any sort of rehab on it. Wound up that the same insulation has been up there since the home was built in 1976 - gross we agree. We also had various openings throughout the attic threw ventilation holes and screens. We and Attica were in complete disbelief to find that there were no vermin in the attic nor signs there have been. Louis was the tech and seems to be THEE guy for Attica. He certainly does his job and had us signed into contract within the 45mins he was in our home. We were happy with the process as it was fast (they scheduled for the very next day) and it lasted from 8am to 2pm. Convenient for us as we work out of our home. Some of the foam sealing was a little messy so Loui came back the next day to clean it up for us. That was pretty unavoidable considering the amount of mesh replacement and sealing that needed to be done. We had four gentlemen on the job and they were all very pleasant and respectful. It is very labored work as you can imagine. Here is an outline of what the work included. Attic job of 1300 square feet . There are 2 attics the first attic is 900 square feet and the second attic is 400 square feet . 1. Remove all of the old insulation blown in completely from 1300 square feet and also all of the wood debris. 2. Rodent proofing the all attic with 3 Years warranty. ( we will have to replace all of the meshwire vents in the house. ) 3. Air sealing the 2 attics . 4. Sanitize all of the attic with bleach and water . 5. Install blown in insulation R38 12.75 to 14" inches . 6. Install batts around the entrance and the attic hatch. 7. Life time warranty for the new insulation 8. We will make pictures for with step of the job. We paid 1.50 for the square footage and the labor was a little steep but we did have two attics to do and four guys on the job. We feel like for the job they did and how clean the attic is it was worth it. Also it had to be done for home inspection to sell our home next year as well as health and insulation temperature purposes. We were also at risk just asking for pests to intrude upon us with all those openings. The musty pictures of the attic are from the estimate time, the fluffy pink is from the new insulation. The guys were covered in their ET scientist like garb coming in and out of the attic as they cleaned it. They did an excellent job lining up their entry and saving my stairway and carpet from any debris. Foam pics are what Loui came back and climbed the roof himself and removed. He even touched up some missing mesh replacement the crew could not reach. Loui answered all calls, texts and emails from me at any time of the day and week - he is truly dedicated to his work and his employer is very lucky to have this guy. Worst attic company I've dealt with. I'm highly sensitive to building materials and insulation in which I let this company know that when they worked for me in 2020 and they recommended green fiber and told me how great it is for the sensitive. I'd been having reactions to my home from the day they installed it up until I recently had it removed and every other attic company I've spoken to says that green fiber is horrible for the sensitive and info online definitely does not suggest this product for sensitive individuals either and it stinks. Plus they used some kind of orange spray foam in my attic to seal that they didn't tell me they would be using and not only is that an extremely toxic product used in a sensitive clients home without any verbal or written permission, they also made the exterior of my home look hideous with huge globs of orange spray foam visible around most of my exterior fascia that cost me time & labor to have removed and looked plain awful. So not only was I sick for years they made my home hideous and when I told them this happened they never even apologized, offered to remove the foam, told me that they wouldn't use for a sensitive client again or literally anything to remedy this. Absolutely most terrible experience I've had with a contractor yet. I even had the displeasure of the automatic quote system contact them again now that I need rockwool that I have here installed and they say they cannot use my own materials due to liability. I wasn't going to hire them anyways. I would leave negative stars if I could. What a sh*t show. read more

Attica has been amazing to work with. I had Loui who gave me the estimate and stayed in touch with me throughout the entire project. Loui is very patient and worked with me for an entire week before I had the project started. He was very accommodating, and helped answer all my questions and concerns. His bid was very competitive as I had three other quotes out there. Attica was not my cheapest option, though rather had all the best options given out there. The attic was in its original condition from 1978 with the original cellulose insulation. Many years of neglect with roof debris and other misc findings, rodent droppings, and poor insulation and horrible ductwork. We had the ductwork and insulation replaced. When Loui went up into the attic, he counted more things to change out than what the other competitors noticed. Some did not even mention some of the findings which I kept a tally of. Loui is thorough, and I appreciate him for making sure to count all ducts and all the walls that need replacing batts. He inspected everything thoroughly and took a lot of photos. Also, the warranty he provided with a lifetime warranty of the insulation + workmanship + ductwork + rodent proofing was all clear and provided. I felt comfortable if something were to happen, my insulation will not be voided because I had other contractors up there installing the attic fan or my AC that I will have done in a couple of months from now. During Installation: The team came over on time and arrived at 8am just before I left for work. They came over with a team of 5 to knock out the project and be done by 1pm. They masked up the entire flooring and walls that lead from the garage, stairs, and hallway. They also used the front window entry where they used a hose and had a fast entry of hauling everything out of the bedroom window. They took over 30 photos during the entire process from start-to-finish. I felt very comfortable and quite fascinated by the kind of work that is being done. I am glad they took many photos since we will never be able to check the work ourselves and validate if the work has been correct once the insulation has been blown in. They insulated part of my garage that was left exposed on the roof during the original build. They also replaced the ductwork with R6 and sealed all the connectors. Suspend the ducts to the trusses so even leveled insulation can be blown in and have a clearer bend radius airflow for the ducts to reach to all the rooms. They even cleaned the air vents downstairs as well. Very much appreciated they were able to knock out all the dirty work inside and out all in one visit. After Installation: I received a bunch of photos in PDF form and the raw photos itself. Loui called me to check in and follow up. Very pleased with the work and his company. I am currently happy and pleased with the honesty, thoroughness and cleanliness with the entire project. They left the home clean with no extra need to dust or vacuum after words. I learned so much and was able ask educated questions of the next two installers. Price was the highest of the 3. However various factors came into play and Attica was able to come very close to my best offer and because of the sales process I decided to choose Attica. Install day...Ernie and crew were awesome. Some early lighting issues but they quickly recovered. I saw the small print "Valid only after inspection" but did not think that would be an issue. 2 inspectors/sales people came on time and "inspected my attic". They told me I needed new insulation for $6000 and they would not honor the $85 clean up. In talking to other people who had Attica come out for the $85 clean up, NONE of them were able to get the work done. I sincerely doubt that Attica has EVER done an $85 clean up and rodent proofing. The initial appointment was for a '$85 special' for attic rodent cleanup but the technician who came in yesterday didn't reference that at all or ask one question about droppings. Instead, he came in, looked at the attic for one minute, and tried to scare us that with the heat on we were breathing in asbestos through our duct work and our inspections (we had two for our new house) should have caught it. He told us we needed a full attic cleanup and repair job replacing all the insulation, ductwork, etc . He showed us a nice set of marketing videos on his iPad of them cleaning other attics, then called his boss to 'let him know about it' and ask if they could 'get us a discount.' Very kind of them to offer to let us only pay $8,000 instead of $10K, of course everyone with a rodent in their attic wants to reinsulate their entire house and replace 13 air ducts. The best part was that the math in the estimate they emailed didn't even add up. Because of the extremeness of the claims we got second opinions from a couple of local HVAC companies and attic cleanup companies, needless to say the guy was lying through his teeth. We were in need of replacing our insulation and I happened upon a coupon in the mail for this company. I was happy to see they take out the old, clean/sanitize and replace with new R38 insulation. Aaron came out and gave an estimate that was in line based on my research of estimated cost and they had an opening the next day. The team showed up on time. The lead Josh explained what they were going to do step-by-step. I work from home so I was able to watch how organized and efficient they were. When the job was completed, approximately two hours before their estimated time, Josh provided pictures of the attic before and after including the areas they sealed. Very happy! The first night I was awakened as I thought I heard something in the attic but then I did not hear it again so I thought nothing of it. The second night I could hear what sounded like a varmint scratching on the wood or picking at something. My wife called Aaron the next day and said this happens often. I believe he said "We gave them an eviction notice and they do not want to leave". Sure enough we found where the varmint had picked at the outside vent to get in. I guess it was coming back to get its belongings UGH! The company sent Louie the next day to set traps. So far we have not heard anything and he will come back in a week to confirm and sanitize. We had yucky old insulation in our attic for over 12 years, and the owner prior to us was a cigar smoker, so every rain, you could smell the years of smoking. Ugh. We contracted with Attica and we are so pleased with the results. We had them remove/vacuum out all old insulation, spray a bleach solution to kill mold and smells, rodent proof all small holes and spots critters could get in, and blow in 14 inches of fresh new pink insulation. The team we had was Josh, Julio, Jeff, Jose, Gustavo and Gerry. They were extremely tidy, very efficient, with everything complete within one day. At the end, they emailed me over 100 photos of before, during and after to show us all the details.
