The insulation in my attic was done poorly when this house was built in 2004. The 2 x 6 joist were exposed between layers of insulation and I know the heat was getting through into my house. I contacted ACH and requested a quote and what options were available. Their quote was one of three that I obtained. Although it wasn't the lowest quote, I felt it was the best option available. The insulation that they use was unhealthy for pest and insects. I also get a $1000 tax credit for this work. They gave me a slight discount if I scheduled the job for the next day, I agreed and we were scheduled. The owner and his helper came out and put 8 inches of blown in insulation in. My house actually splits into a north and south attic area. When they were finished with each side, I went up into the attic and inspected prior to them coming out. The house stays cooler and the temperature at the ceiling is 1° above what I set my air conditioning at. I'm sure we'll get our money back in a relatively short period of time in the amount of electricity we save. I would recommend this company to anyone. read more

I contacted them for a bid to add insulation to the walls of my 1960s home near Mission Trails. I received three bids and ACH had the best offer: lowest price plus they would fill the exterior holes, match the stucco, and paint to match the house. The other bids did not offer to stucco match or paint. They came out in one day in December 2022 and got it all done. The whole team was professional and courteous. After they were done, you couldn't tell that I had holes all over my exterior. It's been almost three months and this winter season feels colder than normal outside. But inside, my home feels warmer. Before my feet would be cold (since cold air sinks), but after the insulation it is definitely warmer. My heater is not working as hard. Plus, I might be able to write some of the cost of the insulation off on my taxes (still need to check that). read more

This is a family run 2nd generation business and they take customer service to heart. Great communication, on time, clean up, pricing, attention to detail. What makes ACH different: the drilled holes are just under 2", the nuzzle they use to push the insulation into the wall is an auto stop method the owner has fine-tuned, two coats of stucco to patch the holes (it was misty on the day mine was done and they dried every patch with heat guns) and color match for the paint is was amazing ( I had 3 walls and each has a different shade of yellow due to sun damage, he matched them all). They had the best quote for the work performed (this was only company that fills/paints the holes after). Installed both attic insulation and wall insulation. What a game-changer! Our house was built in the 1950s and every summer it'd be hotter inside than outside, and during winter it'd be colder inside than outside. Finally decided to do something about it, and ACH provided a great quote for us that was extremely reasonable, and they did NOT try to upsell us on extra services that we did not need. I found this to be the case with quite a few other companies- very shady! They did a great job, and were able to install wall insulation from the OUTSIDE which was super convenient for us, and we didn't have any mess to deal with. They patched it up perfectly and we can barely tell where they drilled holes into the stucco. The house feels so much more comfortable now, and we don't get crazy fluctuations in temperature as we used to. We definitely have not had to use our AC portable unit as much as we would did last summer. I am very happy with ACH's services for my house. I live in Rancho Bernardo +55 community, houses were built in 1960, it did not have insulation at all. Summer, my bed room was hot, winter it was freezing. I got their number from my neighbor. I had another contractor came over for estimate as well, price is relative the same, but they do this on side of their other construction work, they are not experts in this. But When Dough gave me the free introduction, I decided to go with them. Dough gave me a very detail of all material and process and why and what, and had all my questions answered. Anthony and his team came , just one afternoon, everything was done. including install Extractor Fans on the roof. also got some reimbursement back (from estimate) since one of the wall had been reworked before and already for installation. I ended up spent less than I planned. once the job was done, Anthony cleaned everything. when the wall was dried, I could not tell any difference before and after. Called a local insulation company who said they did not do wall insulation anymore but highly recommended ACH Insulation Services. Called Fred at ACH and found him to be very responsive. He gave me a quote and we scheduled for 10 days out. Two days later he called and said there was a cancellation and offered to do the job the next day. They arrived as scheduled and jumped right to work. It was obvious they were a professional, well-oiled machine as they had drilled, filled, and patched the 161 holes and had added R38 to my attic all in 4.5 hours. It started to rain very hard so they said they would be back the next day. Again, they were right on time and jumped right to work. I had ACH services install insulation into the attic of my one-story house and add a whole house fan. First off, I have to say the insulation has been a miracle, I have not had a need to turn on the A/C since the insulation was installed. The whole house fan does a great job circulating the air through my house which I really needed because the location/design of my house prevents me from getting a decent cross breeze. In addition, the whole house fan does wonders for clearing out odors from cooking, pets, etc. Doug Keller did a great job explaining my options for insulation and the whole house fan. We are very happy with the whole house, and ceiling and wall insulation job ACH did for us. Doug was very knowledgeable about the job. We scheduled the crew to come out a couple weeks later. They arrived on time and started the job. They blew insulation into the ceiling and into the walls. They patched the holes and matched the stucco pattern and color so well that we can't even see where they cut holes into the walls. The crew even cleaned up after the job. The temperature difference is amazing! We don't run the AC nearly as often as we did before The house stays at a comfortable temperature without running the AC on most days. Wow, these guys are awesome! Fast and professional all the way through. Insulated the entire house and installed the whole house fan in one day! I couldn't be happier with the results. We had Doug with ACH come out and give us a quote for blown-in insulation in our 1961 Santee home. Doug was very personable and knowledgeable about the whole process. ACH was the 3rd quote we received. They weren't the cheapest, but they do the complete job, not just the insulation, but the patch back and color coating to match. Doug enlightened us that ACH has the masonry license to be able to do the exterior portion of the work, something we hadn't even considered with the other companies, just assuming they carried the correct Contractors License. Plus the other companies that quoted us do not do the color matching, which was very important as we would still have to hire someone else to do that portion. We had Anthony and his crew do the blown in insulation a few weeks ago and they did a wonderful job! Unless you really study the exterior, you can't tell there were holes anywhere. I waited to write this review until we had some of the Santee heat so I could compare the difference in temperature and WOW, what a difference! Yesterday it was close to 90 in our backyard and our bedroom usually heats up pretty fast as it faces west, but the entire house stayed in the low 70s until about 6 when the heat starts dropping from the attic. So our air conditioner was turned on for about an hour, then we opened up the house, turned the whole house fan on, cracked a few windows and the house was comfortable again! I can't say enough good things about blown in insulation, especially if you live in east county and have an older home! This is going to save a lot of money on our electric bill and hopefully extend the life of our central AC. ACH is very professional and did a great job. These guys were great! They installed a Whole House Fan in our new home. Our friends had a fan in their house and they loved it so we started looking at them online. ACH Services ran an ad in the local coupon book so we decided to give them a call. I'm glad I did. They were really polite and were very accommodating to our schedule. The installer was great too. I arranged to have ACH come out to provide a quote on installing attic insulation. The day/time came and went with no call and no one showing up, so I called and left a message. Soon after Doug called me back and was very apologetic, explaining an emergency had occurred and noting if I was willing to give them another chance to just name the date/time and he'd make it work. We've all been in situations like that so I was willing to give them another chance. The new day/time came and Doug arrived right on time as promised. I explained my situation and he was very knowledgeable. He mentioned an attic fan but acknowledge given my attic space he wasn't sure was an option, so made a quick call to confirm. In the end it wasn't doable and I respect him for checking before even trying to discuss it with me. He provided the quote for the attic insulation going in to detail about the type they used and why. They weren't the lowest quote I got but I respected the knowledge and willingness to discuss and listen so I decided to go ahead and use them. I called and made the arrangements. The day came and I received a call from Anthony saying they were running ahead of schedule and if they could come about an hour earlier than originally arranged so around 1015-1030, and I said no problem. Around 11 I got another call from Anthony saying they couldn't do the job because they couldn't get down my street. He indicated he'd made several tries but couldn't do it. I acknowledge my street is narrow, more like a narrow driveway than a street that you can't even pass 2 cars on. What I can't figure out is why this wasn't brought up when they gave me the original quote. Nothing had changed from when Doug was here to now but this was never mentioned as a potential problem. I should also add I've had roofers, a moving truck and UPS come down that same street to name just a few larger vehicles. Im giving them 2 stars since I do believe their knowledgeable, but do recommend that in future they consider accessibility to the home as part of their evaluation and bidding process rather than figuring it out the day of when the homeowner has already rearranged their schedule to accommodate the work read more

It is great when you happen to find an amazing company with honest owners and employees! I was abandoned mid-job in insullating my house. After enduring so many cancellations and no shows, I was actually kinda relieved. I found another referrred company that gave me an extremely high quote and said they don't like to finish other peoples work. I was getting super frustrated when I came upon ACH. I spoke to Doug on Friday and explained my predicament. He said "no problem" and was at my house the next day (Saturday!) and gave me a VERY fair quote (this was my 3rd quote and it was the best) which included repair of exterior. The job took them 2 days and it is flawless! The owners (father and son) were there to do the work and were prompt , courteous and left things clean! My house looks better than before and they even touched a few spots that weren't part of their repair job. I wholeheartedly recomend this company to anyone looking for attic or wall insullation or attic fans. I have not had such a wonderful experience in a long time.
