He even took the initiative to repair a vent that had been left broken and unattached by a previous company (before we had even committed to moving forward!) On the day of service, Dominic called ahead with an estimated time of arrival, which was greatly appreciated. Tyler, Patrick and Mike arrived right on time and immediately began preparing the space with floor protection and plastic sheeting to contain any dust or debris. As someone who works from home, I also appreciated how quiet they were throughout the process. They provided progress updates with photos along the way, and the results were impressive--everything looked clean and well-finished. Tyler also shared images showing that they had corrected and properly sealed ductwork that had previously been patched with duct tape by another company. Nick generated a quote on the spot and showed pictures of past projects and how they do the setup. The sealing up potential rodent holes was part of the installation. They also use a higher R grade of insulation as standard. The guys that did the work were extremely efficient. Man, I felt so bad for them to have to work in an attic in June with scratchy insulation - but they did the work without any complaints. We had gotten our house tented for termites and decided to get the attic cleaned out. I was able to call over the weekend and get an advisor scheduled early that week to give us a quote. Our advisor, Clay, was very thorough in explaining the condition of the attic with plenty of pictures and it was clear that our insulation was very old and not covering the space sufficiently. I was able to schedule for the next week, which included insulation removal, attic sanitation, sealing, and rodent proofing, and insulation install for a reasonable price. Tyler and team came out and did an excellent job of leaving our house clean by using plastic sheets to seal off the route from the attic entrance to the window where their vacuum came through. Attic Advisor was one of three companies I had come out and give me an estimate for attic cleaning and new insulation installation. Their price was the best that I was able to find in the area, and they were able to answer any and all questions I had about the process. My case was a little more complicated in that my attic needed asbestos duct removal as well- Attic Advisor has an established relationship with a reputable asbestos removal company in the area and was able to help me secure competitive pricing for that part of the job as well. Unfortunately I had a family emergency the day before the work was scheduled to be done and as a result had to cancel the project for now, which was extremely inconvenient for everyone involved. However David from Attic Advisor went above and beyond expectations and called the insulation factory to cancel the order last minute so that I would not have to be charged a cancellation fee. I'm very grateful for David's understanding and quick response in what could have been a stressful situation. After comparing prices, we decided to go with Attic Advisor, and we were not disappointed! Our house was built in 1960, and the insulation was probably original (yikes, I know!). Well we have pictures of before they came and this fresh cut was not there before. This is a disgusting business tactic. I've needed new attic insulation for several years now. At one point there was a small opening in my roof that birds and critters used to gain access to my attic and they made a huge mess (It was horrible) The access hole was sealed but now was the time to get the old insulation removed, get the mess cleaned up and install new fluffy batting. I went to "Home Advisor" to find some companies to obtain a quote. Attic Advisor was one of the most highly rated companies on "Home Advisor" so we set up a time to get a quote. Raphael arrived right on time for the quote. Right away my wife and I appreciated his friendly personality and interpersonal skills. He brought in a ladder and popped up into the attic. After about 10 min he came down and gave us all the details of of the work that would be involved. Remove the old batting, clean and disinfect, check for cracks or leaks near the HVAC registers and seal them. Install new R38 (almost twice as thick as the old insulation). That was just what we needed, perfect! We did get several other quotes but nobody could match the Attic Advisor price (by several hundred dollars). So we set up a date with Raphael, May 26th, to get the project done. Raphael's Foreman Dominic (and crew) showed up on time. They got to work right away by prepping the house so there would be no mess as they removed old batting and brought in the new. Plastic was laid down and taped everywhere they would be moving so there was never any mess. In one day the job was complete. They even fixed a piece of HVAC duct that had a hard bend and was compressed. They installed a piece of batting on my attic hatch and installed a Quiet Cool attic exhaust fan for extra efficiency! Raphael came by later with a collection of pictures from the work, explaining in detail the work that was completed. In the end my wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the work. Attic Advisor's work is top quality and there prices are highly competitive. The customer service and attention to detail is awesome. Job well done! Attic advisors went above and beyond on my project. Tyler and his team were on site bright and early and worked two days straight to completely remove old insulation and install brand-new insulation + new AC ducts. It was worth every penny. My AC is pumping out some strong air now! Also, for what it's worth, I had a termite inspection guy come out to do an annual review of my home and as a part of his inspection, he reviewed the attic. The 3rd party inspector commented that my attic looked great and that the Attic advisors even took care of tight areas that many other companies would not have bothered to take care of. I believe in getting 3 or more bids so that I can learn more about the person, the process, and the price. Rafael and Attic Advisor was my 3rd and final bid. He was the only attic specialist to recommend batt insulation over blow-in, and his price was better than the others. This stood out to me. But, price isn't everything. Rafael is someone you can trust. He is an honest, hardworking, family man. He arrives on time, and does what he says he's going to do. He also puts in the time to communicate, share what the process will look like, and he doesn't up-sell. When insulation became more scarce, like many building materials as of late, he let me know right away. It didn't affect the price or the date of work completion, he simply wanted me to know. That's someone you can trust. I've met or worked with a number of contractors/builders over the years as we have taken on small and large projects at our home. Update to previous review... After a great experience with installation of our attic insulation, we found that the air flow from our air conditioner ducts were drastically reduced. I got in touch with Dominic, and asked me to find an HVAC pro to check it out first. HVAC pro determined that ducts were indeed compromised and needed fixing. Dominic and David quickly set up an appointment to check it as well and fix it. Dominic is a certified duct specialist and found the problem quickly. No hesitation, went to fix it and when we found it was too badly damaged, he went to home depot and purchased new section and replaced the whole thing. We are starting demo on a remodel and found our attic had two layer of insulation, extrem old yellow batting, then a complete layer of newer pink batting, all topped with blown in insulation, we called four companies to get estimates, which ranged from varied by over $2000. We are living over an hour away from the house and only there for a limited time, Rafael accommodate my restrictions and came to do the estimate on a Sunday morning, gave us a very competitive estimat, completely explained the process and answered all my questions. Bought a new home and had the property fumigated. There were plenty of signs of rats due to the droppings left behind and when I went to explore the attic I found 4 dead rats. I called 5 different attic cleaning companies before making my decision. For reference I went with the R-38 Batt insulation for my attic because I wanted extra space up there. Other companies stated Batt product was "more expensive" than blown-in insulation, while Nick explain it's actually the cost of the labor as it's more difficult and time consuming and that's why so many companies will up-charge that service. They came to add insulation to our attic last year. Ok job-put a few holes in our ceiling which they repaired. Also disconnected a bathroom fan which we didn't realize until later. We didn't notice enough of a difference in warmth/comfort so contracted them again this year to see if they could take another look at the whole house fan openings as we think they might be the culprit. We discussed this with them last year that this may be a possibility. Reached out to them twice with a promise to "call me back tomorrow". Never heard from them.
