We got a couple quotes, and Attica's quote was 40% cheaper than the cost of the other vendor, so we decided to go with them. 5 days later, the crew came ready to go in the morning. Tyler, the project manager, gave me a call ahead of time to ensure that we knew they were on their way. They took out the old insulation, cleaned it, filled in any holes where rodents might come in, and installed new insulation. They were done in about 4 hours. Honest! I called them because there was an ad that said they would do a courtesy inspection of our attic and let us know if there was any evidence or rats or mice due to living near a field and seeing them outside. We were also given an insulation inspection as well. So thorough, professional, and we weren't charged a thing! My husband uses a cane and we are both unable to crawl in the attic. They are not an honest or known company everything they do is messed up. They came to replace my attic solutions and they gave me an offer to supposedly do it on Sunday when no companies work on a Sunday. They left their job incomplete with trash all over the attic and they told me to clean the attic so they can just come and put their solution by just placing it without caring about the trash under. I took a picture of the trash and sent it to their boss and the boss did not offer replacement or credit he was just rude and weird about his incomplete business. They are scamming with high prices and would never recommend it for anyone. read more

Wish I would've hired Attica Green Solutions years ago for my home insulation needs as they went above and beyond exceeding my expectations! This is a house built in the mid 60's that would get bone numbing cold during the winter, and hot as an oven during the summer. We looked into several different heating and cooling options to find the most cost effective solution. HVAC installation was beyond our needs, so we decided to go the portable AC unit and wall heater route. This past cold season the wall heaters made an acceptably noticeable difference, but there has still been that lingering intemperate chill factor throughout the house. We called Attica Green Solutions. I spoke with Ben and explained the situation. I was interested in having the walls and attic insulated. The next day Ben arrives and goes up into the attic. He took very detailed photos and thoroughly explained his game plan and costs. It would involve removing the old ineffective and insufficiently speared out materials, cleaning, sealing all fixtures, and sanitizing. He was very straight forward with what needed to be done. No up-selling or hidden costs, and even assured attic insulation alone would satisfy my needs sparing me the extra cost of wall insulation! The work crew consisting of several polite and professional workers arrives the next week led by David. All dawned protective face covering and mindful of social distancing etc. David was very knowledgeable and explained the process step-by-step keeping us informed throughout the entire job. The photos speak for themselves as far as the exceptional quality or work and attention to detail they put into their projects. This company put in time and effort and accomplished outstanding results as the temperateness in the house felt wonderful allowing us to sleep much more comfortably. Today (1 week later) the temperature outside is heating up. It reached nearly 90 degrees outside and we noticed a difference inside as well. The usual presence of radiating heat from the sun hitting the roof normally felt inside is nearly nonexistent. Easy & thorough! About a week ago our furnace seemed to have died so we had 3 companies out for estimates. All 3 noted we had rats who had chewed into our duct work! Attica was the most reasonable recommending that we rat proof the entire attic, remove all existing insulation (the ORIGINAL from 1912!!) and replacing with blown-in type R38. They also repaired any chewed areas on the ductwork. Although expensive in my mind, it was a competitive price. We are very pleased with the professionalism and care they took while doing the job. Our home is historic and DELICATE. They were cautious and methodical while up in the old rafters sealing gaps and adding mesh/foam to any holes and gaps. Best of all, we almost instantly noticed a difference in our homes inability to retain heat. There seems to be an marked improvement! read more

To start off - I am not affiliated with Attica at all. I just used them yesterday to do some attic work for me and could not have been happier with them from start to finish. I found them while reviewing the top rated businesses on Yelp for HVAC / duct repair. Problem: I had rats in my attic. I have a pest control company who I work with for my house and we knew they were up there and they were trying to do work around my house to seal off all possible areas of entry. When they were in the attic, they found that rats had chewed through 3 of my ducts, and found evidence of droppings in them, too. Wahoo. They recommended that I get this replaced ASAP. So I began the adventure to find someone to do this work. In total, I had 6 companies come by my house to give me bids. Many offered different types of work to get the job done, and I had a wide range of prices! I initially went into this think that we just needed to replace those three ducts. So I had one company quote me for replacement of all 10 ducts in my attic and cleaning the system. This was actually the least expensive job, but also what I learned was hardly a fix to the real problem. Another company tried to upsell me on every maintenance plan under the sun. They would replace the plenum, "reengineer" my ducting to "maximize efficiency" and wanted to get me on a filter replacement subscription, etc. They were $500 less then Attica - for a way different line of work (not what I really needed) and less total work performed. It was the most sales-man-y pitch I've ever gotten and at one point told him to focus on what I was asking for or he can leave. Another came in and offered an almost exact scope of work than Attica - but were $2000 more! Ok - so Attica: Ben came and spent about 30 minutes inspecting my attic and found everything possible, took detailed pics, and showed me all the issues and proposed solutions. He sat down with me right after and went over it all. Their price was compared to 4 other bids that I had at this point, and without even any haggling they were already the best price for services performed and also the most involved. Ben wanted to vacuum out all the existing (old, insufficient, dirty, rat droppings and rat infested) insulation. After that they would clean and sanitize the entire attic, followed by sealing and rat proofing any gaps found, as well as sealing all fixtures that went from the attic to the interior of the house (to also help with air efficiency). Then replace the three ducts that were chewed through and elevate them off the attic "floor". After that, blow in all new R38 insulation. And finally to clean the vents from each room register. After Ben, I had one more bid come by, who said I needed FIVE ducts replaced, not three. And said that I needed to replace the HVAC plenum. This was also $700 more than Ben's quote. I asked Ben about this. My pest company said 3, Ben said 3, two others said all 10, and the latest said 5. Ben came back on Sunday morning to do a second inspection and confirmed only 3 were needed, and the plenum was not. Instead of upselling, he was fair and honest, which saved me money. So the team came by yesterday with Josh as the lead. They arrived around 830am and were out by 2pm. It was a large crew, I think about 6 or 7 guys total. They were incredibly respectful, clean and tidy, prompt, and easy to work with. Masks were worn the entire time, both for the work being performed, but also for COVID regulations. They laid paper and taped off a pathway in and out of the house for them to stay within. They showed me final pics at the end and there is about 15" of R38 insulation in there now and if it wasn't insulation material I would go jump in it. It looks so fluffy. They cleaned everything and it didn't even look like they were here at all. I haven't noticed any air efficiency savings yet, as it is only the day after - but I am sure that this will help on the energy bills as well as no more rats. They provided a few warranties (differing on which piece of the work - different for the ducts vs rat proofing, for example.) Ben called about an hour after the team had left to check on the job. Which was a nice finishing touch. A+ to this team. I would use them again if I ever needed, which I hope I do not. And I would definitely refer them to friends - or whoever is reading this and trying to decide between the top reviewed companies you are comparing this to. First, I would highly recommend Attica for your home insulation needs. From their technician Ben, who addressed our concern regarding the insulation of our garage, to explaining to us the benefits of replacing our entire attic with new and improve insulation. We went from an R19 to R38. Never bothered looking into my attic to inspect the condition of my insulation until a few days ago. I'm glad I did. The whole Attica team was excellent from start to finish. His team took one day to finish a big project, as minimally invasive as possible. We had a really bad rat problem in our attic, and our attic hadn't been taken care of for years. It was absolutely filthy with rat droppings. In addition to the insulation likely being original, over 20 years old, and badly torn up from the rats, it needed complete cleaning and replacement. But we didn't want to have all the cleaning and new insulation installed if the rats weren't taken care of. Attica is the absolute best combination for rodent exclusion work and new insulation. They went all around and on our house to identify and remedy a lot of places where rats were getting in and out of our home. They used the metal screening and gap-fill, expanding foam to block all entry points. And there were some difficult locations in the attic they took care of as well. Spots I think some other companies might not have addressed. Their thoroughness was actually demonstrated by a single rat that got stuck in our attic due to all their great work, proving they'd effectively sealed off all exits. It took a couple days after they left, but I was able to easily trap the one left, whereas I'd had the same trap in the same place for weeks prior without results. (They're not rat catchers, so that part was on me anyway.) They cleaned the attic to make it look like no rodent had ever been there. Excellent peace of mind knowing the enhanced health factor of that. And their awesome job with the blown-in insulation makes me confident we'll enjoy more optimal heating and cooling. They also installed an attic fan. Although he's the owner, Loui was the first one on site to assess, giving helpful, patient guidance and explanations, which is why we also took him up on his advice to get new ducts (with warranty). Super high quality, dependable, local, and not a big chain. If I were you, I wouldn't try to save even a couple hundred bucks by going with someone cheaper. I am very happy with the work Attica did for me. Ariella thoroughly explained the process Attica uses to make sure homes are not just insulated but cleaned, sanitized and rodent proofed. I liked that the workers are employees of Attica and not random laborers coming into my home. Josh and his crew were polite, respectful, and hard working. Our 1940s home had been chilly in the winters since we moved in 3 years ago and SDGE said our heating bills were much higher than similar homes in our area. So I looked into insulation. I saw the advertisement for Attica and called them for a quote. Ariella came out and inspected my attic and crawl space. I peaked into the spaces and could see the attic insulation was old and falling apart. No insulation in the crawl space. Arielle did a complete inspection and showed me photos she took with her phone. She found a large area of my attic that had no insulation, other areas with old, ineffective insulation, and evidence of recent rodent activity. (I had heard sounds in the night and suspected there might be critters.). Ariella also stopped by on the day the work was being done to make sure I was satisfied. Josh and this team were punctual , respectful , and hard working. On arrival they put down paper to protect my floors and plastic barriers to keep my home free from dust and debris. They removed old insulation in sealed bags and took them away at the end of the day. Before leaving Josh showed be photos from his phone documenting the cleaning and rodent proofing and then the new insulation. They got the whole job done in one day. Do not recommend if you need an area of your attic cleaned up. I can't comment on how they are for a full attic project though. I see their coupons all over so thought I would give them a try since it seems like a great offer. I told them I was interested in the coupon for attic cleaning because I have a small area of our attic that needs to be cleaned where rats were building a nest, but of course they just ignored that and tried to tell me all the things wrong with my attic and that I need to spend $8,000+ to replace all my insulation. This comes after I've had 2 different companies cone out and told me that our attic is good, we just need this small area cleaned and need to close up the entry points. Even after telling them I wasn't interested in redoing the entire attic that is all they would push and they were not interested in anything else. I'm sure they are going to respond to this and say that I needed my whole attic replaced and they were looking out for my best interest, but they should stand by their advertising offers and services, especially when specifically asked by the client. It very much felt like a bait and switch. Won't be using them for this clean up, so I can't comment on how their actual services are. False advertising. I responded to the ad for an $85 cleanup. They really just want to sell a very expensive job to remove and replace the insulation. I told them up front that I wasn't going to do that. The rep told me I was the very rudest customer and walked away. This is an update to the review after the response from Eli. I think his tech might have misinformed him about my very poor experience. I wasn't give the free inspection, as Eli suggested in his response. After a discussion with the tech that I was only interested in the $85 special and not the hard sell on a attic re-insulation, without even seeing my attic he started the hard sell. I said something like maybe forget it. As a response he insulted me and walked away. I called after him and tried to get him back, since he was at my house already and I had an appointment. He ignored me and kept walking. I never got the attic inspection. About the hard sell. I had heard from friends that there is a new industry that is popping up. They offer rodent elimination or other special and then tell you the only thing to do is to pay $4000 or more and strip all the insulation and put new in. And they don't even solve the rodent issue. I just want to people to watch out for this. If you have a new rodent problem, hire an exterminator first. They will solve your rodent problem and tell you honestly if you need attic cleanup. I used this company to clean out my attic after we got tired of killing the rats from the traps we used in our garage. They came to give us an estimate which was quite high but we had to do a major negotiation based on our senior citizen basis and our income. After we came to a mutual agreement, the crew came to our house fully equipped and ready to work. The guys taped off the hallways and doorways and they were very careful about our property. They worked from about 8:30 am until about 3:30 and did a very good cleanup. The attic is extremely clean now with new covers on our air ducts and brand new insulation. There are no more rats (hopefully), and the guys did a pretty terrific cleanup except for one cigaret butt outside in the street near our driveway. They were in a big hurry to leave by then and I also found a soda can out in the bushes much later. In any case, I'm so happy that I had this company come out to do this job because, at this point, we're rodent free. They did their job without issues and cleaned up after themselves. I appreciated what they did. This is what I got: all the ancient insulation and all the nasty stuff was removed, the gaps were sealed, and the attic was sanitized. Then they put in 14 inches of blown-in insulation. I expect now that my heater won't have to work as hard! They checked over my house for any place a rodent could get in, even the crawlspace under my house. They sealed it all. I used this company to clean out our attic (original insulation from the 70's), plug holes where rats/mice were getting in, clean/disinfect, and put new insulation in. It took one day. It was a simple process from beginning to end. They created a tunnel from attic space to front door, did the work, cleaned up after. Everything went smooth and the attic seems unused by vermin since the work was completed. I would recommend Attica! It may be a wrong expectation to think you will have full access to your house and that you can work in peace and quiet, there is some noise that comes through the ceiling and the plastic tunnel (important for containing dust debris) will obstruct some of your typical pathways, but this is typical of most home improvement, lack of access and full function of the house for a day. read more

We have not used their services this is solely on our experience. These guys are very very thorough and definitely know their own product and give a very extremely lengthy presentation and pressured sales to say yes the same day. This is where I had a problem and didn't feel as if we were being treated with respect in the sense that we have 2 small children as I expressed in the beginning and did not expect an almost 3hr quote. No matter how hard I tried to explain that my kids are done watching the movie, they are hungry and it's time for you to go. Can you please email me the info and we will get back to you?? No email, no follow- up, I took a picture of hand written explanation. Perhaps my fault that I didn't set enough time aside but 3hrs? The receptionist or the appointment setter should have explained the process and how long it was gonna take. Which personally I just thought maybe an hour. The gentleman Eli, seemed very knowledgeable and answered my questions and he's very precise and thorough which is a very good asset to have with a company but definitely recommend that you are more aware of the surroundings and understand that someone with children does not have unlimited time and spent more time in the last 2 hrs trying to bribe my kiddos to sit tight a while longer. The prices seem very fair considering the work involved! They give discounts for multiple services which is great, definitely appreciate that. However we're not choosing these guys just because of a comfort level and respect. I'm sure Eli meant well, but as thorough he is, I expected a little bit more hustle in the process. A huge thanks to Attica's great crew, starting with Ariella (sales), Loui (owner), James, Anthony, and Tony (technicians) for their excellent service. This old (1951) attic has gotten new insulation, new mesh screens to seal all the vents and other openings, and even an air scrubber. Their technicians were punctual, professional, experienced, hardworking, and diligent. They double checked their work and left the work area spotless before leaving. The sales contract explained the process well and included copies of licenses and workmans comp.
