I went into this location at 3:30 and checked in at the kiosk at the front of the store and received a text message saying that I would receive a text message when it's my turn. I went to my car and waited for my text. It's 5:50pm and I'm still waiting and haven't received a text back to say it's my turn. I walked back inside and was told that they don't text people when it's their turn, I asked why did I receive the initial text message from them. I have been waiting for over 2 hours for a text message that will never come. How do you run a business like this. Why send the customer a text if you are not going to stand by what you send out. read more

1 star. Deceptive and dishonest sales tactics I've been an AT&T customer since it was Cingular, and I've never experienced anything like this. A rep named Jeff at this store blatantly lied to me. He told me I couldn't purchase my new phone outright (false) and needed to wait a month before coming back to pay it, said I wasn't eligible for a trade-in (also false), and without my knowledge or consent, added insurance and "Next Up" to my account. Put me on a monthly payment plan without telling me or asking me. He said all I'd pay that day was sales tax and for accessories but wouldn't be charged for phone until Aug 5 when I would be able to buy it outright. Worst of all, he removed a discount I've had on my line for over a decade without telling me. I had a bad feeling when he avoided eye contact during the sale. Now I know why. It took over an hour on the phone with customer service to clean up the mess. Guess his commission check was more important than integrity. Thankfully, a wonderful rep named Ziad helped correct what Jeff did. But this experience was dishonest, manipulative, and unacceptable. AT&T needs to hold its reps accountable. The service is not where it needs to be. Having a boy reply the same message when trying to chat with a service rep is awful. ATT shouldn't offer this function if this is how they operate it. Haven't had internet for more than a week and already almost 12 hours of downtime. Government should break up these big companies so we can actually get some good competition amongst small business. read more

I came in looking to replace an old phone (pre paid),whatever the company policy is is fine, its the rudeness and the a-hole attitude. I see why this store was almost empty on black Friday. Job depends on the internet. Pay AT&T for internet. AT&T runs an above ground fiber line to my house saying it will be buried within a month. Here I am 11 months later with no internet for the 5th time because surprise: fiber optic cable doesn't do so well when vehicles run it over every day. Not to mention every public place with wifi is closed from the virus. I dont know why I'm even wasting my time posting this here. AT&T I wish I could scream obscenities at you until I needed surgery on my vocal cords. The fact I'm even handing you money makes me sick to my stomach. read more

We came to exchange 3 IPHONES and the sales person had to push insurance many times even though she was told no. We also have only 4 lines and yet this sales person tried to sell us a five line plan. It took over 3 hours and it now costs me nearly 100 dollars more a month. I also work in health care, but since I am not a first responder. then no discount. It was horrible because some staff are just after a commission and no service. She also sold my sister-in-law the wrong phone case. This should have a great experience. The manager was very nice, but this sales person was awful. I wish I could drop AT&T, but all cell phone companies are bad at customer service. Part 2 - One week later I have received two flimsy mailers to return my 2 IPHONES and I will need to pay extra to protect these phones, so I may get my credits. I do not understand what the point of going to this store was? Oh wait a minute, it was to was 3 hours of my family's time with high pressure sales tactics and no discounts for being loyal customers. I simply do not understand the need for our local store. You also may have noticed that the management has not replied to my unfavorable review. This means that my negative experience was deserved and it is what you can expect from our Garner AT&T store. I am very displeased with the whole experience. Part 3 - I went by the post office today and dropped my IPHONES in the mail to eventually get my credit. This was the end of some extremely poor service from this store. There has been no follow up on these negative posts. I will continue to leave these because it will let other potential customers to another store or another carrier. Part 4 - I have now seen my bill go from the promised $282 to over $300 month on this new unlimited plan. I do not understand why my plan had to be so radically changed. I'm stuck between two and three stars for this location. We went in to switch from Sprint to AT&T because they have always had better service over Sprint. They have the promotion going on where you trade your phones and get up to 650 back per line. He did all the math for us and helped us use our old phones as trade-in deposits for our new phones. We were given instructions on how to upload our final bill from Sprint and submit it. He said if we did the upload online, we would have the switch rewards visa card in the mail in about a week. I asked him about the 10-12 week policy and he said that was for rebates being mailed in. Wrong. Upon talking to someone at AT&T chat, it takes 10-12 weeks no matter what. That kind of misinformation is very aggravating. My Note 5 quit charging 13 days after we purchased it, and there were no issues with switching it out for another phone. I was pleased with that. But while we were there doing that, they had a great promotion going for their smart watches and we were able to get two of them, but the guy couldn't quite figure out how to make the smart watches sync with our phones while still being able to call out on the phone or receive a call. Instead of asking for help on this matter with someone that may know more about the product, he kept fumbling around with the watches and the account and the phone. In the end I told him to forget my watch, to put it back, and he was able to somewhat figure out my husbands watch - though not completely. My husband had to go home and figure out what was going on. He even went on AT&T chat and the guy on there wasn't even helpful. My only two complaints from an otherwise very pleasant experience: Train your staff to give correct information about rewards programs and rebates. Train your staff on your product that you're selling. That guy could have made commission on two watches, instead he only made commission on one, and he almost didn't get that. read more

My family and I wanted to change our plan, and see what the best option for our needs were, as they've changed a bit over the past year. We went in and talked to Joe, who was SO helpful. He was kind, polite, knowledgable, friendly, efficient, and was able to get us an amazing plan for our family. He provided us with wonderful information, but was never pushy. He really genuinely wanted to help us, which made the whole process of getting a plan and phone (which can sometimes be daunt ing) very easy! I would recommend going in to see Joe is you go to this AT&T store, I know I'll always see him when I go back! Five stars for Joe!! read more

She proceeded with my request without gathering sufficient information and now I have to watch my bill like a hawk to make sure I haven't incurred any additional fees. Avoid this store at all cost ! Staff is just as mentioned in other bad reviews - Zero knowledge of official AT&T policies and programs. I'm an AT&T employee and am ashamed of the experience I've been through with this store. The store manager, upon learning that I was an AT&T employee and my family were all on the Verizon plan convince me to switch them all over to take advantage of our employee discount and the $650.00 credit (per phone) to switch. I told her what my current monthly Verizon bill was and she did her calculations and gave me a monthly fee that was about a hundred dollars less than Verizon. So I made an appointment and one Saturday morning in late March of 2016 took my wife and three daughters to the store. The gentleman that assisted us ran through everything as fast as possible. All of our old phones were sitting there on the table to turn in. He told us and I quote "we don't need them, you can keep them and sell them on ebay if you'd like". When I asked him about the rebate process, he informed me that all that he needed was our final Verizon bill and he would take care of everything else for else. It would all be automatic since I was already an AT&T employee and we would receive our rebate checks within the month. After a month went by with nothing received, I started checking into the official policy and it turns out there was a website where the final Verizon bill was to have been uploaded. The assistant at the Verizon store obviously never uploaded the bill. I found the bill and uploaded it and waited. Months went by and nothing. I called and they told me that the bill was not legible, although the copy I uploaded was plainly and easily read on my pc. Again I uploaded another copy, more time went by and again it was rejected. Another round of calls and I was informed that my rejection was due to the fact that none of the old phones had been turned in. I informed them that the assistant at the AT&T store told us that he did not need them and the comment about us selling them on ebay if we wanted. I was informed there was nothing they could do about that and to call the store directly and speak to the manager. I did and she said she would speak with that assistant and get back with me immediately. That was months ago and after numerous v-mails left for her, I've not heard a word back to date. In the meantime Verizon was threatening to turn our final bill, with early contract termination fees over to a collections agency. So I went ahead and made the $1,807.56 payment to Verizon to keep my credit clean. Repeated calls to AT&T resulted in nothing so I informed them to just cancel my account and that I would go back to Verizon for my wireless service. I was then informed if I did so I would receive a bill from AT&T for just a little over $3,000.00 for early termination. TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE !! So now I'm out of pocket $1,807.56 and stuck with an AT&T plan that is not the hundred dollars less per month promised up front, it's actually about a hundred dollars more per month than what I was paying Verizon. As an AT&T employee, I'm completely shocked and embarrassed by the whole ordeal !! Stay away at all cost, that or carry a recorder with you and video the entire transaction and take down names, employee ids and their telephone numbers, because you're going to need them later !!!!!! read more

AT&T store in White Oak Shopping Center Garner, NC is full of people that have no idea what they are doing. They just want to take your money. Please explain how I go pay a bill and upgrade my internet and think everything is fine. After getting home and seeing that no payment was applied to my account. I go back the very next day to find out the sales rep applied my payment to someone else's account.... Wait it gets even better. I was then informed I had to pay again and it would take 8-10 days for me to get a credit from the money applied to someone else's account. These people are crazy and don't care they just want your money. I had no option but to pay because I need the service. How is that customer service? I had proof I paid, it's not my fault your rep was not trained to take payments correctly and to force me to pay again while you clear it up. Lets say that I will be looking into getting TWC for my internet services. PLEASE BEWARE OF AT&T STORE WHITE OAK SHOPPING CENTER IN GARNER, NC. This review isn't about this store it's about the company itself. I have recently had to change the AT&T u-verse service into my name because of a death. It has been nothing but a nightmare. I have internet, tv and home phone with this company. I had to accept a package I didn't want so that I could keep my old phone number. I was told i'd have to accept a temporary phone number and that I could call back after 5 days and get the old number back. I was told this by two different customer representatives. When I call back to get the old number i'm now being told I have to wait 90 days to try and get the number back. I have literally begged three different customer retention specialists for this number. All I'm asking for is a phone number and there's no one in the company that can make this happen. I'm so sorry that I locked myself into a year contract with this company. The whole reason I stayed with this company was so that I could keep the old number that we'd had for years. Every other utility has made things smooth and easy for me. It's like they hired all of Time Warner Cable's old service reps. If you're looking for a home internet package look elsewhere. read more

Went to get a SIM card for a Iphone that was given to me and added to a acct, waited over 1hr while agents walked around not knowing what to do, after 1 hr the person signing someone in grabbed a person just walking around and that person really didn't know how to add a SIM card to a Iphone, he had to keep asking another person, then they stated they could not do because they need the person authorization to finalize it, called that person they spoke with them and still stated that person needed to find a email to accept my approval for the phone. I left the store called att corp, explained everything to them and the lady on the other phone just laughed stating I must of got someone that did know there job, I was informed to go back again and if they could not do it, to call a phone number they gave me to call and they will tell them how to do there job, sad sad sad. read more

Several months ago I decided to switch carriers from Verizon to AT&T because reception is 3 times better on AT&T at my home near 40-42. Undecided on the latest iphone or the newest Android I was interested in sound advice and not just being sold the most expensive device. Upon entering the store it was very obvious that they were very busy and I was greeted by Julian, one of the managers who took some preliminary information from me and made me comfortable to look around without any pressure. After a short time Julian introduced me to Derick, a very knowledgeable gentleman who clearly answered my questions concerning the benefits and possible shortcommings of both devices and presented me with a fantastic option on a new Galaxy note 5 AND get a free Galaxy tablet that my wife now adores by the way. During the time Derick was moving all of my personal stuff from the old phone to the new Galaxy he offered me insurance on the new phone. (I think they have to do that.) At first i declined, because after 20 years of never needing phone insurance i thought it was a waste of money. Boy was I ever wrong! Recently this little gadget I had grown to love was stolen from me. (Guess I'm not the only one who loved it.) With a really bad attitude I went back to the Garner phone store and again there was Julian. I kind of gave him a hard time because i knew this was going to cost me big, but after getting my phone number he informed me that i DID HAVE INSURANCE on my stolen phone and set me up with Derick again at my request. Derick filed a claim for me and within 2 days I again had my new device loaded with all my contacts and ready to go again, and get this... The guys actually gave me the new hard case and glass at half price just to help me out. Fast friendly (Caring) and knowledgeable staff, Great Products, Awesome customer service from a winning team! My complaint is with the AT&T store in Fuquay Varina. I went into their store to see if my iPhone 6 was having a problem (which was an Apple problem). While I was there, the young man I spoke with told me I was eligible for an upgrade. I jokingly said 'that and a big bill' for which he said my iPhone 6 trade in would cover the upgrade. I ask about the iPhone 7, he said they were sold out. To make a long story short, he totally lied to me. He ask me to sign the little machine to show I received the upgrade. Then ask me to sign again before he could remove the data from my old phone. You can imagine my surprise when I received my next bill and it showed I purchased the phone for $799.00. There was a charge for insurance which wasn't even mentioned. I called AT&T and they said I needed to check my receipt that I signed. I didn't get a receipt. He never mentioned the cost of the phone or what my payment would be. I wasn't ask if I would like to add insurance or anything. I walked out with my cell phone, no receipt, feeling like I just got a great deal. The only receipt I was was given was for misc items to protect my phone. I can't believe this could happen dealing with a company that I thought had a lot of integrity. I can't believe I was stupid enough to believe this without asking to read what I was signing for. I'll be going back to my previous way of thinking, If it sounds to good to be true BEWARE. read more

Went into the AT&T store in the White Oak shopping center in Garner. I wanted to change my plan and move my cable, internet and home phone to AT&T. I was told by AT&T with their programs that by combining the services they could save me money. They gave me a price that was competitive and wrote it down. I gave the deposit they requested and then they started the paper work. The price then went up significantly. They did not try to correct the issue or give a solid explanation. I have asked to speak the area manager and have not received a call back yet. Since this has happen, I have spoken to others that have had a similar experience with this store of being told one price and then the price going up. I am trying to get my deposit back with very little luck. The people in this store are dishonest. read more

This review is not about the store in Garner , but about at&t Digital life security service. I signed up for Security service with at&t Digital Life and they never secured a license for monitoring my home. After I found out they tried to get me to contact my town and secure one myself. My former security service Vector obtained one, but at&t didn't. About 21/2 years into the contract they informed me that they would change my billing cycle. I indicate to them that I did not want to chane my billing cycle as I thought if they moved my billing date up that would constitute an overcharge to my account since billing is based on a prearranged start date. They changed the billing date any way . They sent a prorated bill one week an a regular bill of the full amount the following week. After the fiasco with the billing started , I had a some late payments and they suspended my service and I did not have access to internet to view my account and they expected me to pay for security services that I could not monitor. no access to internet or mobile pho to view billing or services. I called and got "No customer service". A week later, I received a bill informing me that I owed $319 for services and a portion for early termination for a cell phone. I have never had a cell phone with at&t and I do not plan to obtain one. the following Monday, I received a threatening letter indicating that they would forward my account to collections if I did not pay immediately. I sent a letter and called the company disputing the portion of the bill for the overdue amount and I informed them that I would be more than willing to pay the early termination fee . That was not good enough they insisted that I pay the entire amount, so I told them not to contact me again and that I have not been pleased with their services. read more

I went in to find out my options for renewing my contract that expires this month. I was fully prepared to renew and purchase a new iPhone 6s today. When I entered, I was asked if I wanted to be added to the que. I asked how long this would take and was told only a few minutes because there were only three people ahead of me. I went ahead and added my name. I then proceeded to wait for 45 minutes. During this time I watched multiple associates having casual conversations with each other and two were actually standing in front of the Direct TV wall watching a college football game. Finally, my name was next and when I looked back up it had disappeared off the board. I asked one of the associates and was told to speak with another associate about the problem. When I approached the associate and asked for a manager I was told he was one and I could wait for the person at the counter to finish up and they would help me. After 45 minutes my name disappeared, the associates shuffled me around and I was never offered an apology. This place needs to get its act together. This kind of service does not make me want to renew my AT&T contract when there are so many other options out there. read more
