The weekday lunch menu is fabulous! We had the spinach enchilada / chicken flautas and Rio grande enchilada. Both the lunch selections, prices and fresh made portions are perfect. We have been coming here on weekends as a family for decades. This was our first weekday lunch. Love their dinner carnitas and tres enchilada plates. As always the spicy bean dip and salsa is great. Sorry we gobbled everything up before thinking a photo may be a good idea. read more

The food was excellent as always. I ordered the usual chile relleno with carne asada, my favorite. My wife ordered pollo con queso and as always, the food was very flavorful and served at the perfect temperature. We also ordered a couple of delicious margaritas. The service was top-notch; Paula really knows how to provide outstanding service. The manager on duty, Martha, was also very kind, attentive, and, as always, in a great mood. We will definitely be back the ambiance is very good very friendly people, read more

I went here for the first time while getting my tires done next door even though I have lived near here for a while and was impressed. The food was great, staff was super friendly and the inside is so cute and cozy. I got a mixed enchilada plate and the chips and salsa were excellent. Will definitely visit again read more

The staff here are SO sweet. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I will absolutely be back just for that! My server Luis was absolutely wonderful. Never had to ask for anything, he anticipated every need and was very fun. Food was wonderful, I got the cheese enchiladas. I used to go regularly to the Ahwatukee location, but moved close to this one and I am so happy to have such a welcoming place nearby. Will be back! read more

Haven't been to Arriba's in a few years. Loved the Pozole and bean dip. We were excited to get the salsa and bean dip until we tasted the bean dip everyone thought it was so hot. It was uneatable. Ordered my usual Pizzoli. I noticed that it had two peppers on it as the waitress if they had changed it. And she said no, just a little bit spicier. So I ordered it along with Pollo Fondo. When the Pizzoli got there, I couldn't eat it. It was so spicy recipe has totally changed. The Pozole itself was very bland but very very spicy. Pollo Fanta was very dry. Cheese was hard on top had no sauce in it. Beans were very spicy too. Seems like this place is totally changed their menu to be very spicy. Our group will not be coming back. read more

The food was very good. As you can see from the pictures I have the taco plate. The taco was so full. I couldn't put sour cream or lettuce on it, but it was delightful with the shredded beef. My daughter got the white sands chimichanga. She said it was so big she was for sure. Gonna get another meal out of it and maybe two. We really enjoyed the food. Service was awesome. The young man Jorge did a great job. The ambience was wonderful as usual. We've been there before and we like going there. read more

Excellent experience from start to finish. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything tasted incredibly fresh -- especially the chips and salsa, the guacamole, and even the soda. You can truly taste the quality. The food was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and satisfying without being overdone. It's clear they care about consistency and flavor. The restaurant was clean, reasonably priced, and welcoming. Other restaurants in Arizona should take notes -- this place sets the standard. I'll definitely be back read more

The margarita was better than manuals. The bean tostada was loaded. The chips and bean dip were excellent. Five stars for you.

Came for breakfast and well I won't be back. My order was wrong and the food was cold. It was also over-priced for the quality.

Horrible order on Uber eats and it was delivered directly to me less than a mile and a half away. The bag was still hot when I got it so that wasn't the issue. I ordered a ground beef burrito and a red chili burrito they were both supposed to come with sauce and neither one of them did thus making the food basically inedible. They were kind enough to throw in a bag of chips, but no salsa either so there was no way to eat the burritos because I have nothing at my house currently to add to them. That's the reason why I ordered out. Glad I tried you. I've been living here for 15 years. I should've read the reviews first though and saved my money stay away from this crap hole. read more

I would rate it a zero if I could. My wife ordered a chicken plate with veggies and it comes with rice and a side of rice They never sent her the rice and the veggies looked like they heated them up in the microwave. The beans tasted weird, not refried beans at all...The salsa tastes like grocery store salsa. I ordered the burrito plate. It came with rice and beans and they barely sent me any beans. We've had better for sure. read more

I really like this place. I do. I come here on and off over the years. But now... Hm. The plate was hotter than the food, indicative of microwave. Ordered and 5 minutes later food appears, indicative of microwave. Food taste bland not like it used too, indicative of microwave. I was expecting an an experience like back in the day. Of course this is my experience and opinion, but I've been here before that's why I came back. But again less than what I expected. Sorry this time. But I'll be back to check again. I'll keep you guys posted.... read more

This is very classic Mexican comfort food. Very familiar and predictable. Which is just what you need sometimes. The restaurant was well themed and decorated, and the service was just fine; slow with drink refills. Food was delicious and I would love to come back. I had the enchiladas, and they were exactly as they should be; piping hot, really cheesy, and sauce covering the whole plate 10/10 read more

Great service; food brought quickly. Well taken care of my our waitress. Parking no problem.

Food was good.Bar is really, really small and needs new bar stools.Fair price and good location.

Came in for a drink. Was seated promptly then left for an hour unattended. No one came back. Will never return again.

We found this restaurant after doing some shopping in the area. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but, inside it's all quintessential Mexico! We were seated right away and our server was quick on the draw with a margarita order and the most delicious chips, salsa & spicy bean dip!!! I'm not a big portion gal so I just ordered an a la carte spinach enchilada with green sauce and it was amazing!! Hubby got the Carlsbad Stuffed Chicken Breast...and OMG, we're definitely going back for this one! The chicken was perfectly grilled over a fire, and stuffed with fajita veggies and topped with a spicy white queso sauce. (It was such a large meal we just enjoyed the leftovers for breakfast)! We also ordered the Teramana Marg, it was huge and delicious! Oh, and lastly, the music they play is fun, happy, and entertaining. Love this place! read more

Enjoyed a mid week lunch here while in Phoenix. The inside has a very authentic Mexico vibe; decor, wall art, music, etc. They weren't busy and the kind hostess sat us immediately, just outside the bar. The waitress was very welcoming, met us at the table with waters and complementary chips & salsa. We started with the queso dip (good flavor) + side of green chilies that we added to the queso, making it extra spicy (yum). For lunch, I ordered the pollo con queso-- shredded white chicken, wrapped in a fried burrito topped with jalapeño cream cheese and melted cheese on top. Everything had good flavor however, the temperature of all the food lukewarm... wish it was hot. All in all, Tasty Mexican food & kind service. read more

When I entered Arriba in Ahwatukee, a manager was unhappy and criticizing hostess at the front counter. After a few moments I asked to be seated. The manager asked me to wait and continued speaking with the young woman. I asked to be seated a second time. This guy should be a dishwasher. From the marguerita to the chicken enchiladas to the refried beans all were terrible. I ate a few bites. Our waitress was efficient and friendly though she did not understand English too well. read more

While getting my vehicle serviced at the tire shop next door and also feeling a little famished I thought, "that Arribas place might be good, I'll go give it a try." Unfortunately, in a sea of infinite Mexican food restaurants within the greater Phoenix area, Arriba Mexican Grill is simply just "another one of those places." There's also the awkward restaurant layout that has you ascending/descending a multitude of levels in order for you to get to your table, but I guess the restaurant is indeed called ARRIBA ("up" in English). I ordered the White Sands Chimichanga which sounded good in theory, however the execution was simply poor. The over fried tortilla, lack of seasoning, and dry pork combination left the chimi less than desirable. At least the tortilla chips were good, but lets be honest, that is very difficult to mess up. The service was also not bad; the waiter took their time to describe their specials and also checked up on us at appropriate intervals. Considering there are literally 5 Mexican restaurants in a 3 mile radius of Arriba that I would much rather prefer, I definitely will not dine here again. read more

Ugh. The piped in music is too loud, the place is old and dated. Worst chili relleno I've ever had. Strangely watery even with the cheese topping. Husband's tamale was nothing but masa with beef ladled on top. Super dry. I don't know how they made the rice so bland. The free bean dip with chips was very good (good spicy) but the salsa tasted like tomato paste. There is no way we're going back. read more

Sad I have to give it even one star...wish could leave negative 5 stars. So...my friend and I went there Friday at lunch. Not to busy. We both ordered off their lunch menu. With two ice teas that bill came to just under 40. FOR LUNCH AND SUPPOSED LUNCH SPECIALS... to say the food was bad is an understatement. Beginning with both plates being served up cold....on top...we are talking no flavor at all. Literally no flavor. My friend machaca taco..the meat was a grey color. Beans were canned and so eatery they had to be eaten with a spoon. I ordered a green chili burro...and again no flavor. Opted fir read more

When it comes to finding a spot that blends the zest of Mexican cuisine with a vibrant atmosphere, look no further than Arriba Mexican Grill. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with clean digs and an inviting vibe. Starting with a refreshing Strawberry Margarita that hit the spot, the flavor journey only got better from there. The chips and salsa set the stage with perfectly balanced heat and freshness. Moving onto the mains, the Rio Grande Enchiladas stole the show with their spicy carne adobada and flavorful chile Verde, paired with moist and delicious rice The ambiance? Vibrant and welcoming. Mexican decor, mariachi tunes, and the option to catch the game at the bar--it's a vibe that's hard to resist. Plus, with attentive waitstaff who know how to treat you right, you'll feel welcomed when you walk in. While there was no room for dessert this time around, the overall experience at Arriba Mexican Grill earns it a solid 8 out of 10. For a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine in a lively setting, this spot is where it's at. read more

Disappointed I'd like to start on a positive note and say the service at Arribas Mexican Grill is really good, however, I feel terrible saying the food was a disappointment. On this visit my lunch companion and I ordered the taco special, 2 tacos with rice and beans. The tacos as well as the rice and beans really lacked any flavor and the taco shells were somewhat over cooked as were the chips. The shredded beef taco was okay but the chicken taco was very dry and not very good, had to leave that one on my plate. Maybe we caught Arribas on an off day and have to revisit on a diffrent occasion and give this place another try. read more

Visited on New Year's Day. Place was empty, just a patron at the bar and another table of eaters. Service was pretty good. Food was good and reasonably priced. Chips and salsa were good, had to request a spicier salsa for our taste. Ordered the New Mexico enchiladas- green with chicken. Flavor was great and they packed some chicken in there! I've ordered this dish before from this location and the arrowhead location. Stopped ordering because there was definitely no meat. Not sure if this location has gotten its act together again, but it was once off the list for dining choices. After this meal, it's back on the list. read more

I like it here! Super laid-back helpful staff. Good drinks and food. Happy hour is great! Plenty of appetizers to choose from. I tried the Queso Dip and Taquitos. Can't go wrong here. They both were tasty. My margarita was good as well. You have two sizes to choose from for happy hour. So many flavors if you're not a traditional fan. I'll have to stop in here more often as I do like the chill vibe. I must say they do not skimp on the portions either. My coworker ordered Chicken Nachos. The plate was so big. It made me think I should order those! Next time I will. Full of toppings and such a big portion. Happy Customer here. I did my happy dance as I ate and drank. This is my go-to "I can't decide" family sit-down Mexican place. The service is so friendly and they prepare food FAST. Food is solid, good, and the portions are generous. The chimichanga is definitely 2 meals. I love that they mark spice levels on the menu and they are not joking - even the "1 chili" items are HOT. I made the mistake once of ordering something with "2 chilis" and I could not eat it because it was too spicy, but also delicious. I was so conflicted :) They have some New Mexico-style items, which are great. The decor is colorful and the typical "family Mexican restaurant" vibe. Parking is easy. Sodas are LARGE and refills come fast. It's definitely a regular in our rotation. read more

A business associate and I stopped for a late lunch after a meeting. We were greeted and initially shown to a booth in the very back of the restaurant next to the restrooms. The sewage stench was unbearable, we went back upfront and asked for different seating. We were politely shown to a booth in a different section of the restaurant. There were very few people in the restaurant as it was about 130 to 1:45 in the afternoon when we arrived. Our drink order was taken. We were brought chips, etc., noticing that we had been seated directly under a speaker playing music loud enough that normal conversation was somewhat difficult. We waited a full 20+ minutes; actually discussing paying for the ice tea and going elsewhere before we saw another person. Eventually, our waitress did come back, take our food order. We both ordered off the lunch menu. I had ordered the poco Pollo con queso. Description said a golden brown chimichanga topped with two types of cheese, etc.; the chimichanga had not been fully fried and the two types of cheese were slices slapped on top. The entire plate with the exception of the lettuce and tomato had been microwaved to the point of being too hot to be edible. It was not just your average fresh hot meal on a hot plate, this had been overheated in a microwave, it's not difficult to tell. Although I don't remember exactly what she ordered. My associate's meal was subpar, as well. During this entire time we were dealing with very persistent flies. Not acceptable, especially in an indoor restaurant. We both gave up trying to eat anything and waited for our waitress to show up again with the check. She brought the check, saw the uneaten food and walked away never asking if we had enjoyed the meal or wanted takeout containers or if there had been any problems with the food. When she came back to pick up the check, she brought a dirty plastic bowl with a few assorted, wrapped candies in it. Sadly, they looked like leftovers from several Halloweens ago. A very fitting ending to our first and definitely last visit to this location. read more

I love love love their happy hour prices. I was a little worried because we were on the way to the restaurant when I noticed I had to make a reservation online. I tried for the closest time but it gave me errors saying that it couldn't be same day reservations. We went anyway and were seated immediately. I had the regular margarita and we had mini chimis for the table. Tbh we should've only ordered those with the margaritas because there's 8 and they're a good size with cream cheese. However, we went overboard and I had the cheese crisp while my date had the chili verde. Way too much food for just the two of us but let me say, the cheese crisp held up well overnight. Endless chips and salsa are always the way to my heart so that is always 5 stars. read more
