Got to work a bit early so decided to hit this up. One of my food IG people gave this place a shout out for their breakfast burritos so I had to check it out. Ordered a chorizo & egg burrito but added potatoes, cheese and beans. I should have said xtra beans cause I'm a total refried beanie and I didn't feel it had enough for my liking. This was amazing and I have to shout out the amazing green salsa. Soo good! There was just one guy ahead of me and the guy at the window was super friendly, he repeated my order and took my payment and disappeared. I think he was making my burrito? Rolberto's is the "go-to" 24 hr drive thru Mexican food to satisfy the 3 am craving for some tacos or a California burrito. The food is pretty consistent and you'll place your order with the same couple of guys depending on what time you go. Make sure if you're getting a special like tacos on Tuesday that they charge correctly and they add like $.50 cents paying with card/device (they do take Apple Pay) Another thing that has to be noted, if Rolberto is the owner/real person, he must be doing very well financially. Used to love this place. Spent far too much money here over the years because the food was good and the price was decent. But lately every time I go they mess up my order. Can't count how many times in the last year I was charged extra for modifications but then no modifications made, just taking my money. This has happened countless times over the last year and after my last order being totally messed up and them not doing anything about it, im done with this place for good now. Cant risks waisting hard earned money in this economy. It's always the grumpy guy at night when this happens. The guy during the day who smiles all the time is great and it's a shame they have to loose a loyal customer over an employee with a crappy attitude and missing food. I've spent thousands here. coming from California honestly, this place was a huge disappointment. I never give one star. However, this place was gross. I mean I will give them that the rice was cooked good not soggy that was awesome and the Horchata was surprisingly really good however, the shrimp still had the veins in them, and it was disgusting. I'm myself don't know about all of you yelp people and other people but I don't like to eat poop and when I make shrimp, I make sure to d-vine my poop on both sides of the shrimp, there was a lot of poop in the shrimps and I couldn't even devour it the way I wanted to because I felt disgusted by the poop so I did not eat the shrimp. I was so hungry that I ate some of it but took out the shrimp I'm not usually too big of a picky eater either unless food is unsanitary I am disappointed in the sanitation of this Meal. I've been going here for about 30 years. Prior to that, I knew the owners from San Diego. The Carne Asada is pretty much always great. I just got home with a $10 burrito. It was tiny, like Taco Bell tiny. I called just to let them know something was up. Eric's response was "every cook is different and I'm sure you wouldn't call to tell me that the burrito was large". It was unnecessarily adversarial. Well, Eric, I wouldn't. I would tell everyone else. As in, supporting the local businesses. Part of running a business is consistency. I shouldn't have to interview the man on the grill to see if I will actually get what I pay for. I wasn't asking for anything. It was just a heads up. The guys that opened this restaurant decades ago were awesome, kind and extremely hard working. After reading the recent reviews, my experience with sub-par food and abysmal attitudes from the kids that are running it now was not an anomaly. It is a shame. For drive thru "Berto's" fast food this place is on point. I had the breakfast burrito and it was awesome. The price was way better than the Filiberto's by my house (7th Ave) where the prices have gone crazy. I was able to grab a breakfast burrito (ham,egg and cheese and added potatoes) and a large drink for $11. It was $7.70 for the burrito and added .70cents for extra potatoes, such a reasonable price. Whereas adding additional ingredients to a burrito at Filiberto's would now cost $3 extra, they're really crazy with their prices now. After bad experiences with other Mexican joints we started relying more heavily on Rolberto's for real and tasty goodness. Their rolled tacos are about as perfectly done as we've ever seen. Their carne asada burritos are excellent. I've grown fond of their carnitas however their adobada burrito just knocked my freaking socks off! Plus they're awesome with requested modifications unlike some other joints in the area. Perfect since folks have food allergies to usual or unusual things. Never had an issue with these guys on that end. Far from it. If you're looking for good Mexican eats this place is killing it! With that in mind this is the place to be. Had absolutely nothing inside it but chicken and "tomato sauce".The chicken tasted very weird I don't know why they wouldn't put more in the burrito to mask the taste. I will never come here again.
