Left to right; chicken taco, Green Butcher and a Chili-Lime Shrimp Taco - Three tacos with various toppings, including cilantro, diced tomatoes, and sauces, are arranged on a paper-lined tray. Two lime wedges are placed on top of the tacos. In the background, two small cups of salsa—one red and one green—are positioned on a yellow table. The tacos appear to contain different fillings, and the presentation suggests a casual Mexican dining setting.

I walked to Willie's from my hotel on Van Buren street. It's just .6 miles away. It's a 15 minute walk. I ordered the chicken taco, shrimp taco, and the green Butcher taco with some chips, guacamole and salsa. I only ordered the green butcher because it was listed on the menu as a favorite and I can 100% agree with that opinion! It was my favorite by far! Super tasty! Big and filling! The chips, salsa, and guacamole are all freshly homemade and delicious! I was able to eat 2 out of the 3 tacos, and less than half of the chips and salsa. They all made great leftovers for the next day. The restaurant was empty except for a lone guy who actually looked like Willy Nelson who appeared to be writing music. The only thing I didn't like about the restaurant was the street noise. It's right off of the street and open aired. The restaurant has no control over it, but the loud mufflers in this city are SO annoying! The city really needs to do something about this issue! It's awful. Prices are reasonable. After tax and tip my bill was about $35 for one person, but like I said, it turned into two meals. Definitely would go back for happy hour and order the green butcher again.

I like to go to this place before baseball games and sometimes basketball games or concerts. Before an event everyone is pretty hyped and it makes me happy lol the margaritas and micheladas are really good and so far all the food I've had is good. The big fatty burrito has been my first sort of disappointment because it had more beans than anything but luckily their beans are delicious lol so idk how truly disappointing I felt.

Ordered from their food truck! Incredibly fast service and received my food in a matter or mere minutes after ordering. Was a bit pricey, but the meat was super tender and very flavorful.

Carne Asada Burrito - A carne asada burrito wrapped in foil, resting on a wooden table. The burrito appears to be filled with meat and other ingredients, with the foil partially opened. A glass of water is visible in the background, along with some napkins or paper. The setting suggests a casual dining environment, likely at a Mexican restaurant or takeout spot.

This was a fun spot to eat while we were in the area. We stopped in during off hours and the space was not full. I ordered the carne asada burrito. It had plenty of meat and I would definitely get this again. The bartender was great and quick with our orders. I would return if I am ever back in the area.

This place is super cute! It's in a cool area right in downtown Phoenix, super close to the Diamondbacks stadium, Footprint Center, and the Phoenix convention center. The service was good; they were nice but nothing out of the ordinary. I got 2 shrimp tacos - I usually get 3 when I go out for tacos, but they were so expensive!! For just me, I paid like $15, which would have gotten me a full meal at most other restaurants. The tacos were pretty average too, so I'd rather go another place next time I'm looking for tacos based on the taste and the price.

Exterior view - The photo depicts the exterior of Willie’s Taco Joint, a Mexican restaurant and cantina in Phoenix, AZ. The establishment features signage for tacos and tequila, outdoor seating with bar stools, and digital billboards advertising entertainment. The sidewalk in front is visible, with a few people near the entrance, and the building has a colorful facade with various signs and banners.

OMG!! 6 stars! I've walked by this place so many times each time we visit it will be our go to from now own. Food is fresh & hot. Customer service is through the roof, felt so welcomed.

Now I understand why this place is always so packed before sporting events! The food is delicious! Great place to stop for a meal before a game. 100% would recommend.

Interior - The image shows a colorful graffiti artwork featuring an astronaut with a skull face, wearing a detailed spacesuit with various colors and patterns. The background includes a space scene with planets, stars, and abstract shapes, creating a cosmic atmosphere. The artwork is painted on a wall with horizontal stripes in yellow, white, and red, and includes additional decorative elements like small planets and abstract designs.

Food is amazing, the owners are awesome and very welcoming. Great music and great atmosphere.

Meh. It was pretty average. I ordered a burrito with the green chile sauce and cotija cheese, and a pink guava jarito drink. As far as the place, I thought it was pretty hot inside. I was sweating bullets when I scarfed down my burrito. Kinda irritating. What annoyed me even more was the employee didn't call me by my proper name. The employee--let's call him "Captain Mix-Up"--decided my name was MIGUEL instead of Michael. Look, amigo, I'm Michael. Not Miguel, not Manuel, not even Montezuma. Just plain ol' Michael. Why do Americans think it's funny to rename brown people Spanish names just because they are in a Mexican Joint? The privelege! WTF? Is it a secret initiation? "Welcome to the Club of Cultural Cluelessness!" Look, fellas, it's not cute. It's like calling a sushi chef "Sriracha" or a French baker "Croissant." Let's stick to real names, shall we?

Lots of misters! People are nice. This was the only restaurant open by the ballpark. Tacos were normal not amazing but I did not like the rice it was very dry and the beans were kinda chalky. The place has a really cool vibe and we will definitely be back here again! Hopefully the rice and beans improve.

Probably the best tacos we've ever eaten, one of the tastiest guacamole, Carne asada meat had so much flavor. Cold Modelo wasn't too shabby either. The worst part was being too full to finish the delicious food and then finishing anyways. Only downfall was they have terrible napkins, so grab about 4 times more than you think you need. Overall deff recommend and can't wait to be back.

We really enjoyed this taco spot in Phoenix after a suns game last season, as it was conveniently located near the footprint center. (Walkable) The service was very quick, and the ambiance was cute- we sat outdoors and got a cool breeze. We recommend the grilled pollo asado, traditional carnitas, rice, beans, and elote (all pictured). Tip- try to go early and beat the basketball crowd next season!

Carne Asada Taco Chili-Lime Shrimp Taco Green Butcher Taco - Two tacos are presented on a paper tray, each with a green corn tortilla base topped with shredded cheese, cilantro, and pieces of meat. Lime wedges are placed beside the tacos for added flavor. The presentation suggests a casual dining setting, likely from a Mexican restaurant or food stand.

It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

It was perfect to converse and enjoy drinks with friends! This time we went with some friends, and each of us could not stop talking about how good everything was! We started with In To The Blue shots for the table, which were so good we wished we had sipped them. Then we ordered our first round of drinks and food. We shared a plate of nachos and they had the perfect balance of toppings and chips, then my partner and I ordered some tacos and a Cubano Sammie. The sandwich was delicious, much better than the average Cubano I've come across in Phoenix. The tacos were also great, and $11 for 3 was a steal! Our friends also got tacos, which they enjoyed. My partner ordered Cupid's Dagger and the Insomniac to drink, and she loved both of them! Cupid's Dagger was also served with a bubble of smoke and it was on a little silver tray, which was cool.
