This restaurant is nestled in a heavy blue collar worker area. Nothing fancy, just damned good food. The menu is in Spanish with small English translation underneath. Everything we had was fantastic. The wait staff was excellent. The only annoying thing was the music was loud, but when I asked if they could turn it down a little they did so immediately. I had the worst experience at this mariscos restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely terrible. Our server, Ashley, kept giving us dirty looks all night, making us feel unwelcome. The attitude from the staff was unprofessional and rude.The food was just as bad. I originally ordered shrimp tacos, but I changed my mind and got chicken tacos instead. Big mistake. The chicken tasted old, like it was expired. My friend had the shrimp, and it was slimy and had a disgusting, spoiled taste. It was clear that the seafood was not fresh.This place is a health hazard, and I will be reporting them to the state health board. No restaurant should be serving expired food or seafood that tastes rotten. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone bad service, nasty food, and a terrible atmosphere. This is a great hidden gem in south Phoenix! My daughter performs at a theater nearby and this is going to be our family's new dinner spot after shows! I came to this restaurant, not too long ago my first time coming here the waitress had such a bitchy attitude, and she is one of the main servers at this restaurant, there was a new girl server that was waiting our table, and she kept giving us the wrong order of food almost every time we were ordering a lot of food and the main server could not even come and help this girl out and give her some tips on how to be a server because you could tell that this girl had never served in her life. So the main girl server comes up to us and is like oh what's going with the food and we tell her well your server here has brought us two orders of the wrong thing. We don't know if it's because she's forgetting, confused or if it's because she doesn't know how to give orders to the chef off your menu. She proceeds to handle this situation, but yet was giving us looks at our table throughout the whole time we were there. I don't know if she's the bosses daughter, but clearly you could tell that she hates her job and she needs to be nicer. And be a better trainer for her servers. read more

The unfortunate part was that it was a little noon on a hot day so I would hope the turn around would of food would have be a fresh batch of seafood for sure. Oh my gosh this place is a total whole in the wall but it's so good! I got a speciality made veggie burrito similar to one at San Diego's sombreros restaurant it was amazing. My boyfriend got a few mini tacos which he liked but was amazed by. I'm a vegetarian, he isn't and he even ordered a veggie burrito for himself! I probably should write a review, since apparently I'm the restaurant's profile picture right now (oh dear). The prices for dinner items are a little more expensive than the hole-in-the-wall establishment that I expected when we pulled up to this Mexican joint. That's probably because the vast majority of the dishes are seafood related. There are non-seafood items, especially on the lunch menu, but seafood is definitely the special of the house (bahia means bay). So, of course, I made the mistake of ordering a non-seafood dish. Luckily it wasn't a horrible mistake - my cheese enchiladas were filling, had decent flavor, and were, best of all, cheap. However, I'm sure the seafood here is spectacular, and I broke my own rule and didn't order the house specialty. My horchata, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious. Service was great as well. When the chef sent out beef enchiladas (not an item on the $7 lunch menu) instead of my cheap version, the waitress apologized profusely and offered to let me have it if I'd like. The bus-boy was a cute 10 year old wearing a walkman. Obviously an authentic family-run establishment. Stop by if you're in the area - it's better than those buffet places that the nearby DMV is advertising! read more

Don't walk in expecting your typical Mexican steak fajitas, because unless you're coming for lunch this is a Mexican seafood restaurant. Can't speak for the seafood, but the lunch was great. Very affordable - no lunch special more than $7. Salsa and chips were fresh and tasty. The meal itself was incredibly filling - I had a huge burrito and the wife had her typical cheese enchiladas. You can get whatever meal you ordered smothered in enchilada sauce for an extra 95 cents. The enchilada sauce is reminiscent of New Mexican chile sauce - sweet and spicy. Music is a bit loud, I got up and discreetly turned it down at one point. As we left a mariachi band was walking in, sorry we missed out on that but we had to run. I live about a block from this place! I really enjoy the food, this last time I tried the Marlin quesadilla it was exactly what I expected it to be! Cooked to perfection. They always have beer specials. The waitresses are really friendly its always a chill environment as its not overly loud like most Mariscos places.
