I stopped by for lunch today and signed up for their rewards and was given a free churro. This was exciting however, upon biting into it I was jarred by the fact it was rolled in salt.... Not sugar. Unfortunately this threw off my palate and could be the reason I was not a fan of the carnitas burrito. The burrito itself seemed hefty, but I quickly noticed it was mostly rolled tortilla inside. The ingredients inside also seemed lukewarm which again wasn't very appetizing. The space itself is great with ample seating, and the staff was friendly. I recently visited Someburros and had a great experience overall. I ordered three shredded beef tacos along with beans and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The shredded beef was tender and well seasoned while the beans made a perfect side. The staff was friendly and attentive which made the meal even better. Been going to someburros for years now at all different locations (7th, Jomax, bell and 101 etc). i have given them a bunch of times to be a good place to eat, there is always an issue with my food rather it is make wrong, served cold, served nuked (tortilla hard and unable to chew). to having poor service and taking 20 mins to get our food, Or even an issue with getting chips and salsa. i have had enough with the food restaurant and will never return. last incident was forgetting my rice and beans for my meal then when asked for it they said had to pay for that i went to front and saw receipt and it said combo#10. should come with rice and beans with meal. got that resolved, then my wifes was chicken, it should have been shredded beef, then when we got it back it had tomato. should have tomato. then my sons kids meal burrito was nuked so hard you couldnt even bite into it. after all this the manager refuses to give us a refund or compensate us for the trouble. again do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

You get a little tray of chips and the hot sauce was good. However, my meal was pretty generic. It just didn't have any personality. I think if the price point was lower I would be inclined to return perhaps. I can think of way better ways to spend 15 on lunch. I have been to many Someburros locations and this one actually pissed me off. My friend and I ordered the tostada nachos and I ordered a bean burrito. The bean burrito was more of a tortilla with a ridiculously small amount of beans and literally no cheese. The tostada nachos also had very little beans. My picture definitely does not do this burrito justice! We are not asking for anything more than what we paid for and this order was a joke and an insult. Such a disappointment! First lie - I completely understand how disappointing it must have been to get home and feel that your tostada was missing the beans, especially after tipping and expecting everything to be right. "I did review our kitchen footage from that time, and I can confirm that a full serving of beans was placed and spread on the tostada before it was served. It's possible that the beans settled or shifted during packaging or transport, which can sometimes make it appear like there wasn't much on there once opened." Here is the 2nd lie - I was able to talk with Sophia, the General Manager. She had mentioned that she was able to speak with you over the phone and came to the realization there was an error made while reading the ticket. When the cook read to add a side of beans, he incorrectly took it as beans on the side. This is a frequent order as people do this to avoid the shell getting soggy while driving home. My response - Sometime money can't solve a lie. They can't seem to ever get your order right. I asked for two ground beef tacos, one was made with ground beef. The other one was made with chicken. I don't know what the confusion was, but they do this every time. They don't train the employees, and there's never any older adults. The time before I came, my friend got a burrito when he bid into it, half of it was sour cream, literally half, I didn't even bite into it and I wanted to throw up. I thought I would give their Taco Tuesday a try you can get their crispy shredded beef, chicken or ground beef and potato tacos for $2.50 each. I tried one of each and of the three I liked the shredded beef the best. The decor is a little sterile in my opinion given the size of the dining room a few plants wouldn't hurt but in the competitive Mexican fast food market they are a reasonably priced option for families over a Taco Bell or Filibertos. read more

I am not sure what it is made out of but I like it better than most of the other places that I have went to for a burrito. I wish all places could have a non soggy burrito tortilla like this place. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't a lot of meat in my burrito. I think that it could have had a bit more. In my burrito there was cheese, pinto beans and a few other things but I feel like it was mostly cheese and pinto beans and some meat. I had the pork which was limited time I heard. They put the spicy sauce on the side in a small plastic container. I like that I could add it myself from the container. I could have used just a little more spicy sauce. The #9, two hard shredded beef tacos, serviced with delicious rice and beans is my go-to. Mmm those beans! Went for lunch with friends and family. I've been to the Tempe location and wasn't overwhelmed but this wasn't my choice for lunch. We have two large families 6&6 so yeah there's a lot to order a lot to take down and a lot to cook so by no means is wait an issue it's somewhat expected. However after we ordered food kept coming out incorrect. The servers were nice enough to ask if things were correct and when we said no they did indeed correct them the first few times however by the third issue they stated to say we were doubling orders in an effort to get free food. This was very frustrating so I simply went back and asked for our receipts to be printed out. I explained that if there was miscommunication and stuff didn't get ordered we'd gladly pay for it but didn't appreciate the suggestive tone that our intent was to steal. They printed them out and we showed where the mistakes were on there end and that we'd gladly pay for the difference. The manager apologized and said no it was fine which was great however it still took another 10 minutes to get 1 coffee. If the food was amazing I totally would have bumped this up to a 4 star review for the manager going above and beyond to make it right as my machaca breakfast burrito was very good however my wife's rice and beans were flavorless. In AZ where Mexican food is everywhere this isn't somewhere I would willingly choose as they don't set themselves apart much in my opinion read more

If you are a native of the Valley like me, then you grew up eating at Poncho's Mexican Food. I remember fighting with my siblings over that basket of sopapillas. The Vasquez family (longtime owners of Poncho's) opened the first Someburro's in 1986. We have several of these family-owned, fast-casual restaurants all over the Valley. They specifically cater to young families on a budget. I frequent Someburros quite often because I love their hot sauce. It is pretty popular and I love getting a pint of it to go whenever I stop in. Someburro's menu consists of traditional Mexican food made from family recipes from Sonora, Mexico. Their signature Pollo Fundido is my personal favorite. Another favorite of mine is the Albondigas Soup that is served in the Fall. In addition to food, they have horchata, alcohol and churros! They keep a calendar on the wall that highlights food specials and Valley events. Taco Tuesdays, Cinco de Mayo and ASU football games are big celebration days at Someburros with special discounts on selected items. If you are hosting a big party, Someburro's caters large platters of party-sized portions of their popular items. This was my first visit to this location in Phoenix. It is pretty spacious and has a drive-thru. If you want good Mexican food made quick, Someburros is always an easy choice. read more

This place hit the spot, much better than my last trip from someburros in Goodyear. We came in on a Friday night it wasn't busy at all. The cashier recommended the potato and ground beef taco with my combo meal and it did not disappoint. The enchilada was ver cheesy and the beans and rice were very fresh. I enjoyed the hot sauce on it. I would say if you like potato tacos this one had a very good flavor the only thing was the shell fell apart. Horchata and Teas available, not just soda! The food is good! Not "great", but it's not a sit down restaurant or your abueltas! It's good for what it is! Chile Verde is the way to go. Get the burritos wet, and with crema on the side. Salsas are good, they just added verde, b me pretty good! I mix the green with hot red. Taste good! I recommend for sure. Especially this location. The service was slow, must've been cause they were back there straining any juice out of the meat. not a single seasoning was in a 50 foot radius of the food, not even a pinch of salt on the chips. If you blind folded me and fed me cardboard and their tacos I would not be able to tell the difference. The brown sauce on the burrito was straight up hormel chili right from the can, and that damn salsa they give you is straight up pizza sauce. It made Taco bell sound like a 5 star restaurant. Some burros was offering their customers a Cinco de Mayo special. For today, it was either a green or red chili beef burrito for only $4 regularly $6.65. We opted to go through the drive-thru which wasn't very busy at 6:00 pm and the order came out relatively fast and the food was really hot. I like it came out really hot which was great. The burrito tasted delicious slightly a little salty for me. They provided complimentary chili sauce which was great with the burrito. I wish they offered me more chili sauce. read more

I honestly don't know how this has good reviews. I had heard about this place from coworkers as we work near this location. I decided to place my order online and pick up. My order was ready when I arrived and then I headed back to work to enjoy my lunch. The tostada I ordered was already soggy. The tortilla bottom was so soggy that I could fold it into a taco. I literally work nearby so they either prepared my order way before the time I said I would pick it up or it was just crap to begin with. Secondly, my tostada had no cheese on it. WHY was the cheese missing!??!? Who makes tostadas with NO CHEESE!?!?!? So basically I had a soggy bean and lettuce taco. moving on... I also ordered their three chimichangas with rice/beans. The rice/beans had absolutely no flavor to them. Very generic, like say, a taco bell or something similar. NOT something claiming to be 'authentic mexican food'. The chimis were also disappointing. Tasting like they came out the freezer section. I literally just took a few bites out of everything and threw the rest away. There is no way I will be back. The carne asada burrito was absolutely delicious--juicy, flavorful, and packed with perfectly seasoned meat.
