Pancake breakfast - A breakfast plate includes scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, a sausage link, hash browns topped with fried onions, and slices of cantaloupe garnished with a sprig of parsley, served on a white plate. A separate plate holds a stack of pancakes dusted with powdered sugar, placed on a checkered table.

They have a new location in Anthem the food and the service was great. Big portions and great flavor.

Enchilidas Montadas and Latte - A breakfast meal on a white plate includes scrambled eggs, refried beans with melted cheese, shredded meat, and a slice of cucumber with a sprig of parsley. A mug of coffee with foam and cinnamon is placed nearby on a wooden table. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment.

I had the enchilada montada (w green sauce) with a latte. Very good! It came with refried beans and hash browns. The latte was very smooth and had a hint of mocha. My only suggestion would be whole beans as a side option rather than refried (and perhaps just whole beans). It's a small place with comfortable booths and a homey atmosphere and good service. It has a busy early morning weekday crowd. I will definitely come here again.

Barbacoa tacos - The image shows a white plate containing Mexican dishes: a serving of rice with green peas and diced carrots, a portion of beef with sauce and grated cheese, and two tacos topped with chopped cilantro and onions. Lemon wedges are placed on the side of the plate. The food is arranged on a wooden table, and the presentation emphasizes traditional Mexican flavors and ingredients.

I highly recommend this brunch restaurant! Great service. Yummy food. Good portions. Sophisticated presentation. This place proves that you should never judge a book by its cover! They spoke English and Spanish.

Burnt burger with spoiled meat taste. Disgusting! - A partially eaten meal in a black takeout container includes French fries, a piece of fried fish with a crispy coating, and a green pepper. The fries are scattered around the container, and the fish appears to be battered and fried. The image shows the food in a casual setting, with some food remnants visible.

Seriously in need of updating. Service, lacking and slow. Bad experience overall especially when Mexican staff talks crap about you thinking your gay when you actually have stage 3 breast cancer thus the short chemo hair regrowth. And they are unaware, yo hablo espanol perfecto!!! Customer service sucks and needs better training. Girl at initially handed me a menu, but then walked away and started waiting on other hispanic customers. Just because I'm white don't diss me. I do understand Spanish and I understand when you're being a b-- to me, and don't think just because someone's white they don't understand what you're saying; I speak perfect Spanish and I understand it completely. Yo entendo espanol completo. Now, about the food... it's disgusting. I ordered a classic cheeseburger. It came on a toasted bun that was stale, small traces of mayonnaise, burnt bacon, and a burnt burger that had a spoiled taste to it like the meat was already going bad before they cooked it. The fries are super greasy over cooked and cold when I got them. By far this is the worst place I've ever eaten. I ate here 14 years ago and I'm pretty sure it's not the same owner or management because the service and the food sucks compared to the high quality it had years ago. It was a 5 Star Burger place and now I wouldn't feed this burnt crap to my dog.

    Over medium eggs.

It's kind of like a gift to us to be able to walk in there and feel like you are walking back to a different time. When you first walk in the door you immediately notice the long soda counter with stools. There is a line of soda flavors and a marquee with ice cream flavors behind the counter. There's an old-fashioned juke box, and a line of wooden booths that are also from a bygone era. On each table is a mini jukebox. All around are vintage advertisements and antiques, and there are two rooms at antiques to shop. There's a lunch menu and a dinner menu and of course the ice cream menu. We both chose one of the specials of the day which was on the chalkboard, a turkey and cheese on croissant sandwich with a bowl of black-eyed pea soup. They were good, but the real star is the dessert. There are two pages of different ice cream sundaes, ice cream sodas, and pie. It is very hard to make a decision and I don't envy anyone who has trouble making decisions. We decided to go with a Mudslide Sundae and a slice of cherry pie. Oh lawd! Like eating a price if heaven!!! The owner came to our table (she actually visited all the tables) to see how he liked everything. As a fundraiser for MacAlpine's, there was a handwriting analyst who would analyze your handwriting for a donation. He had stepped away when we were done eating so I didn't have the chance. The bad thing is at MacAlpine's is struggling. The owner's husband passed away during the pandemic, and this place has struggled to get its footing back. My son and I both said that it would be a travesty if this place closed because it is truly like stepping into the past, and in a way that you rarely see - - genuine and real, not replica. I really encourage you to visit MacAlpines the next time you are craving ice cream. You will not be disappointed and it will help a locally owned business that really deserves to stay in business.
