This is our usual default go-to brunch spot when in the SGV area. It's just always good eats with no long lines like other places. It's been here forever and we've been coming here for over 10+ years, yeah its that old or we're that old lol. It's located on the corner of Fairway/Valley in the strip mall by the Starbucks. They still have what seems like permeant outdoor seating in there self made wooden patio dining area. But indoor dining has now reopened at full capacity per LA county covid protocols. Masks are still required to enter, but no more temperature check at the door or by the machine. Seating is still self service first come first serve. You put your number on the table and they bring your order to you. You can still order by the kiosk at the door, online for pickup or at the register like before. They have reorganized the interior tables so there are slightly fewer tables and not so close in proximity. The interior is picture perfect full of wood panels and perfect for those IG selfies. Yeah they used to have that no camera policy posted, but they never enforced it. They do have a full brunch and coffee menu. For the classic coffee lovers they have your pour overs, cold brews, a variety of lattes hot or cold and seasonal drinks. They do still sell there cold brew in the glass bottles and freshly roasted coffee beans in bags if you want. The coffee roasting machine still roasts coffee in the window display and smells so good. All the waiters and baristas here are in full cafe uniform with black/white theme so its a nice hipster cafe vibe going. The usual must try items here are: Salmon Benedict - This is different from other brunch places benedict. It's two toasted egg muffins served with smoked salmon and piece of lettuce topped with hollandaise sauce. That extra lettuce gives another level of crunch to each bite and cuts down the butter richness from the hollandaise. French Toast: This is just classic 4 slices of egg battered brioche served with some sliced strawberries sprinkled with some oats and served with syrup. This is perfect for sharing and just classic brunch good eats. For the vegetarians the Mushroom Toast is absolutely delicious. It's a huge too and good for sharing. It's like avocado toast but with ALOT of stir fried mushrooms and avocado on top of a beautiful wooden tray. You can also go classic Avocado toast similar to the mushroom toast. It's just like 2 whole avocados sliced served on toasted bread with some baby spinach, scrambled egg, cherry tomato with dill sprinkled on top. Oh so good if you love avocado! For coffee recs the go to are either Sea Salt Caramel hot latte or Creme Brulee latte. Before they served them in huge ceramic mugs but now because of covid its in a paper cup. The creme brulee is still super yummy and literally candied sugar on top! You crack it with your spoon. You can adjust your sweetness and type of milk along with hot or cold options for all there lattes. Other good choices are lavender or rose for those looking for something more earthy. There are real dried lavender and rose petals sprinkled on top! The straight up pour over and cold brews are also delicious! All of there coffee drinks are served with these tiny jam short bread cookies. They used to served them all on custom made wooden trays. Yep its so picturesque. My favorite place to have brunch whenever I'm in the area. I love the whole vibe of the cafe/coffee shop and the servers are always so polite and helpful. It's definitely an experience that you don't normally get in coffee shops. Their food and drinks are delicious and very reasonably priced. I wish I lived closer so I could visit every week. You order and pay at the counter and take a seat at any available table either indoors or outdoors. It does get pretty crowded on the weekends pretty fast, so if you want an indoor table, I'd suggest coming early. During my second visit, I had ordered a strawberry ice cream cake as my choice of dessert. Halfway through my meal, they realized that they had been out of that but it was not communicated to me when I had paid. They apologized and I was understanding, so I picked the other dessert choice that I had in mind. Maybe it was because we were so understanding and nice about it, or their service is just that superb, but they felt so apologetic that they gave us an additional dessert on the house. Horrible experience. Came here with my wife for brunch today and order two entries and two drinks. Our entries were served on time and the drink came after we finished our brunch. Since you have to pay before being seated(yes, including that recommended tips), I can't really cancel my drink. What they did was just apologizing. Sept 2021 - Happy to announce that they have reopened indoor dining! One of my favorite spots for weekend brunch, but it was a pain during the height of Covid because they closed off their indoor dining at that time, and it was hard to get a table and not melt under the sun during summertime. As of September 2021, they have reopened their indoor dining, and I can sit inside their spacious coffee shop, sip my coffee and enjoy the air conditioning while I wait for my food to be delivered to my table. Mom's favorite are the Eggs Benedict, but my personal favorite item is the Taiwanese Sausage Panini. Love this charming coffee cafe. It's a long drive for us but when I'm in the area, I try to stop by for a crème brûlée latte. They used to serve it in real cups and on a tray rather than paper cups so todays experience was a step down from past experience. The Hojicha tea latte was okay but not as good as the crème brûlée latte flavor. I hadn't been here in since pre-pandemic so the decor has changed a little. Aroma Craft Coffee has more of a casual dining concept, with customers picking up their orders at the counter instead of the food being delivered directly to the table. I ordered the Rich Miso Pasta, which was comprised of flat fettucine pasta with mushrooms and zucchini, all tossed in a thick, aromatic miso sauce. It was an interesting concept, and nothing like anything I've tasted before. After a while, however, my mouth got a little bored...I'm not sure if the portion was just too big for me and therefore the flavor and texture became monotonous, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I'm glad to have tried it, though! I wouldn't normally have thought of miso as a pasta ingredient, but it worked strangely well. The food was alright. We got a strawberry ice cream cake and it wasn't anything out of this world and the drinks were alright as well. The ambiance was very cozy and we loved the decor, and the service was quick. We just felt rushed because after sitting there chatting the staff eventually began to constantly eye us/stare although we had only been seated for an hour and we did buy stuff and were just enjoying the food and vibe as much as we could. We weren't loud or anything but honestly my husband and I didn't feel very welcomed. Nonetheless its a cute spot, but i don't think I'd go out of my way to come back again. read more
