Arisan coffee has been opened in San Jose for about 2 years and this Santa Clara location is their second store. I noticed Vietnamese coffee are getting more popular in the last 12 months as there are a lot more new Viet coffee shops open in the South Bay. In addition to coffee beverage they also sell special Vietnamese style sponge cakes and those are hard to find outside of little Saigon so they are a must try. overall I am happy to see more Vietnamese coffee shops open because I am a big fan!

Matcha Banana
Jonica K.

My friend and I tried the banana matcha here and it is hands down the BEST banana matcha I've ever had- and I already love banana matchas! // Banana Matcha SO GOOD. It's incredibly creamy, but what really makes this one stand out is the use of actual fresh banana. There's banana at both the bottom and top of the drink, and you get fresh banana purée as you sip. I've never had a banana matcha quite like this before, and it makes such a difference compared to drinks that rely mostly on banana-flavored syrup. There's also a subtle cinnamon/cookie flavor in the cream layer that pairs perfectly with the fresh banana and matcha. Everything works together without the banana overpowering the tea. My first sip was genuinely eye-opening. I immediately knew this was going to be my new go-to matcha. I've only tried it once and I'm still thinking about it. If they do their banana matcha this well, I'm very curious to come back and explore the rest of the menu!

Came back to try the Tiramisu and Banana coffee. I liked the banana cream in the drink. I just love whipped cream so it was very good to me. The tiramisu was good. It had whipped cream, the flavor of espresso came thru and it was moist. I had less sugar in my einspanner last time and it was just okay. Full sugar is so much better. It was 4 pm and a few tables were available. Three tables had people on their iPhones or laptops.

I think matcha is always the hardest to review and the hardest to find reliable reviews, since I do think everyone's tastebuds vary A LOT when it comes to matcha. As a person who quite likes umami with a slight preference of nuttiness and absolutely despises grassy and astringent matcha and lovessss fruit with matcha. I think the matcha drinks here is not bad at all. The balance of the strawberry matcha is pretty good, the balance is really nice definitely more on the sweeter, dessert side but you can still taste the matcha which is a little grassy tasting but I don't really mind it. The banana one just taste like banana milk and also on the more dessert side but I don't mind it that much cause I'm a sucker for banana but you absolutely don't taste matcha but at least there's no bread in it like a banana pudding which I like.

There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon, and they made the drinks fairly quick. We tried the Matcha Banana and Matcha Einspanner! The banana one had real chunks of banana which was very good and fresh topped with lots of banana cream. One thing I wanted to note is that the quality of banana cream was pretty heavy and sweet, too overpowering for the matcha. There was too much banana cream to so u end up finishing the matcha with much cream left. Compared to the matcha einspanner, it seems like they put less matcha in the banana one which was a bit disappointing. Matcha Einspanner on the other hand was pretty good and had a strong matcha taste which pair well with the light cream. The cafe is so spacious and has tons of tables!

I have been to this location several times and overall really like it! The coffee is sweet and smooth - just how i like it. I usually get the phin brown! It gets the job done! I have also tried the taro matcha (4/5) and the strawberry matcha (i dont typically like these). The inside is super cute and clean. Wifi is fast and i just love the vibe! You cant beat a cute little coffee shop!

I am so excited about this second location for arisan, the first of which is located in San Jose's Vietnam Town. The interior shares the same charm as the original. There are charging outlets, a decent number of tables/seats, bathroom access, and free WiFi, so it is a good spot to study or work (especially because they're open a bit later). I will note that a lot of websites are blocked--the Washington State University webpages, for example, so be forewarned. The menu offers similar options to other Vietnamese-style cafes, with a number of matcha and coffee options. They also offer some more unique flavors, such as pandan and sweet corn. I also appreciate their pastry options, which, though limited in variety, are very cute--I tried their strawberry choux pastry, which I thought was pretty good, though the cream inside was a touch too light in flavor. Their pricing is on the high side of normal, with most drinks running you at least $6.50 and up to ~$8, but I find that the quality is satisfactory. The matcha isn't the strongest I've had, but it's still quite good, and the size of the drink is on the larger side. I like to also think of it as paying to spend time there to study. The service is really great here--there isn't an ordering tablet, but the menu is posted very visibly, I was offered recommendations, and my order was taken and served very quickly. Everyone is very friendly as well. I honestly felt very welcomed and comfortable. I was offered a free sample of the choux pastry (likely because I came close to their opening), which they informed me are made in-house! I definitely recommend giving this spot a try, as I really enjoyed my visit and want to try some of their more unique drinks. It's a great spot to just grab a drink or to sit down and work, and the care with which they make their food and drink stand out to me. The primary reason I took one point off is because of the blocked websites issue--I really want to study and work here more often, but I can't be sure if it's always possible.

Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea ($8.25), Pandan Green Milk Tea ($8.25), Strawberry Matcha Einspänner ($7.95)

I'm patiently waiting for the matcha and tea bubble to burst. Anyone else? As much as I love both, I'm tired...tired of the long lines and disappointment with all the new matcha and tea shops opening. BUT, Arisan hits. So, their expansion to Sunnyvale is a WIN because I don't have trek further down to Viet Town for their drinks. *Specialties*: Matcha and Viet coffee. They also have milk teas, fruit teas, and their housemade desserts: choux and boxed cakes. They use fresh ingredients and fruits. No surcharge for oat milk. From their TeaHee days, housemade cheese balls available as a topping. It's savory cheese suspended in a jelly. Here's why I like Arisan and their new location: (+) Online ordering available (even during soft opening) so we didn't have to wait in line. (+) Feeling ballsy? Since they open at 9 am, you can get your boba fix in the morning instead of waiting until 11 am - 12 pm when other tea shops open. (+) They have sugarcane and pennywort drinks that's hard to find in the Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area. (+) Spacious with plenty of seating indoors and two tables outside. Free WiFi and outlets. (+) Two restrooms. (+) EAAASSSSY parking. So much easier compared to their E San Jo location. Unfortunately, Arisan's drinks are not on par with their original location yet. Visited during the soft opening and it was 10% off everything so giving them grace: * Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea, less sweet ($8.25) It was creamier than usual, and while the roasty tea flavor came through, there was an odd cinnamon aftertaste. * Pandan Green Milk Tea, less sweet ($8.25) Creamy with a distinct grassy vanilla-y pandan flavor but the floral green flavor was on the weaker side. * Strawberry Matcha Einspänner, less sweet ($7.95) - Whisked to order Strong earthy flavor mellowed by the milk and strawberry puree. Topped with a creamy, cloud-like strawberry sweet cream for dessert vibes. * Einspänner Latte, less sweet ($7.50) Diaaaabeeeeteees sweet and the Arabica coffee wasn't as bold. S E R V I C E Cordial and efficient service. We ordered online, and our order was ready in just 7-8 minutes (Saturday afternoon). Overall, happy to see Arisan expand further north[west] with easy parking!

I gave this location another chance and it has improved! Service was still quick and my drink (Matcha Einspanner) was creamy and had a hint of sweetness just enough to still taste the matcha in it.

Cold Matcha Latte with oat milk

It sounded like Arisan had a really good soft opening. We ended up going there a week later during an off time and everything went smoothly. There's decent seating inside but since it shares the parking lot with Hankook, we decided to take it to-go and do some Korean food shopping. We ordered the Honey Match Latte and the Matcha Einspanner Latte, both with oat milk. The drinks were prepared quickly and we were on our way in less than 15 minutes. Both drinks were refreshing and had visual appeal. I can see coming here frequently due to its location (I work and work-out nearby)! Perhaps they'll have a loyalty program that I can leverage.

We ordered the matcha on matcha and the banana matcha. Both were great! You can really taste the banana purée on the bottom and the banana cream on top! You can definitely taste the matcha in the matcha on matcha!

Dark Roast Tie Guan Yin Oolong Milk Tea & Taro Tornado
Nicole P.

Came back for the bogo free milk tea promo! It was lovely to see that they have more decorations and merch on display since the last time I was here :) Also saw many people working/studying. When I arrived, there was a small line and the wait wasn't that bad at all. The staff helping me order was super kind and answered my questions~~ I also learned that you can't do milk substitutes for the milk teas lol ~ Taro Tornado (less sweet, regular ice): The tea and the jellies were nice but the taro wasn't particularly hitting. It's chunks and bits of real taro at the bottom of the drink. It was interesting to try, but I would not get this again and I wouldn't recommend it either (sorry)! ~ Dark roast tie guan yin oolong milk tea (less sweet, regular ice): Now this was a nice drink. Very fragrant and delicious. Love the jellies too! Looking forward to trying more drinks in the future!

Tiramisu latte

I've heard a lot about this place and was excited for their expansion to Sunnyvale! No wait on a Monday at lunchtime although I hear it's been busy on weekends; I ordered a tiramisu latte and got it quickly. The drink looked great like all their drinks do, and I really liked that they gave a marscapone biscuit on the side (in a bag for easy takeout). The drink itself was a bit of a miss, it tasted a bit like concentrated cold brew coffee with a bitter off taste. I think they're much more known for their matcha drinks which I'm excited to try next time. The vibe here is amazing though! Spacious and bright with lots of seating, and I love the decor, there's a full length mirror, plants everywhere, and flowers on every table. Seems like a great place to study or hang out, I'll definitely be back :)

The order was ready 10 minutes earlier than scheduled. Located in Arques Plaza, next to Metro Burger and Subway, Tong Sui sits prominent. The parking spaces closest to Tong Sui is ample. The pick up area and register is visible immediately upon entering. The cashier shared a friendly, warm smile and assisted with my pickup order immediately. The line upon entering had about ten people waiting to order around 6:30PM on a Saturday. Our order consisted of: 1 - Peach & Lychee Cheezo ($9.95) with honey boba ($1) 1 - Black Sesame Hojicha Latte (8.50) with honey boba ($1) 2 - Osmanthus Oolong Tea Latte ($5.95) with honey boba ($1) 1 - Mango Sticky Rice Coconut Pudding ($10.95) Verdicts: Osmanthus Oolong Tea Latte - very nutty and earthy flavor profile, at regular sweet I feel like it's too sweet but it was purchased for my daughter and husband. My daughter is not a fan even though she liked this tea at a different shop with the same selection options. I like it, Even with the prominent profile, the flavors are true to its name, well balanced and complex. If you are not into a strong earthy flavor, this is not for you - I personally enjoy it. Peach & Lychee Cheezo - this is the drink that sold me on trying Tong Sui. Blended peach skin on with Cheezo foam I have never had at regular sweet is not sweet. Think drinking a ripe piece of fruity, juicy and oh so satisfying. That is this drink. My daughter enjoyed it so much it is now hers. I at least got two sips. This is definitely a fan favorite because my husband wished he had chosen this one. Black Sesame Hojicha Latte - Hojicha is one of my favorite teas, never had it paired with black sesame and definitely never had peanuts added. This flavor profile intrigued me so much so I had to try it. At less sweet it is still slightly sweet and still perfection. The peanuts give it a nutty flavor profile with the roasted green tea and black sesame adding an additional nutty, smoky, earthiness. I love! The drink is creamy, rich, nutty and perfect. Think a luscious blended black sesame shake, so good! Mango Sticky Rice Coconut Pudding - served as my breakfast this morning. Kept refrigerated, it was perfect the next day. The mango tastes fresh, bright and sweet. The puddling was creamy, thick, coconut forward and light. The sticky rice complimented and balanced out the other two ingredients, making it the perfect bite. Whether I was eating the mango solo, the pudding with the mango or all three at once, each bite was truly satisfying. It was very filling. Would I return, most definitely when I am back in the area. Wish the other locations were closer to where I frequent. Other locations include Campbell, Milpitas, Palo Alto, Valley Fair and Redwood City.

Interior is very neutral/beige with the pops of color coming from some plants scattered inside the space. There's WiFi available and for 6pm on a Saturday, it was empty. We ordered two cakes: pandan raspberry and a tiramisu. Both were really well layered but it tasted like the tiramisu had far more cake layers than the pandan raspberry. The pandan raspberry was more raspberry with minimal pandan flavor. The tiramisu tasted just like its name and was great! Both were very lightly sweet cakes, and it was surprisingly easy for my friend and I to devour two slices and still feel ready for dinner later. I wouldn't get the pandan raspberry again, but would be willing to try other slices with how the tiramisu was. The downside is the cakes are pricey. And it feels the interior can't decide if it's trying to be minimal on purpose, or the furnishings were meant for a smaller space/grab-and-go only spot originally but then they moved to a larger location with seating. Good cakes, I would consider swinging by here to pick up a slice for a special occasion.

It's a really cute dessert with a lovely smooth ube cream, and the Biscoff crumble pairs well with the nutty ube flavor. I am interested in returning to try their other tiramisus. Unfortunately, the drinks I tried (namely their cold brew latte and Hate My Boss signature) were not great. The coffee to milk ratio in the latte wasn't great, and the Hate My Boss tasted primarily of sugar, even at a less-sweet specification. I will say that I think their business is focused on its desserts, with their drinks as a sort of side attraction. Their drinks are on the inexpensive side, I'll give them that, but not so inexpensive that I feel like I can excuse their shortcomings. For what it's worth, the service was great, their store was clean (albeit a bit cluttered), and their desserts are tasty, so I can recommend it, but only for their desserts.
